1 This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, John, 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 1:1 イエス・キリストの黙示。この黙示は、神が、すぐにも起るべきことをその僕たちに示すためキリストに与え、そして、キリストが、御使をつかわして、僕ヨハネに伝えられたものである。
2 who testified to God's word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw. 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. 1:2 ヨハネは、神の言とイエス・キリストのあかしと、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことをあかしした。

7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. 9 I John, your brother and partner with you in oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Christ Jesus, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God's Word and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 1:9 あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。

11 saying, " What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies : to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 1:11 その声はこう言った、「あなたが見ていることを書きものにして、それをエペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テアテラ、サルデス、ヒラデルヒヤ、ラオデキヤにある七つの教会に送りなさい」。
12 I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lamp stands. 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 1:12 そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。
13 And among the lamp stands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest. 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 1:13 それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子のような者がいた。
14 His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire. 14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 1:14 そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であり、目は燃える炎のようであった。
15 His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters. 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 1:15 その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであり、声は大水のとどろきのようであった。
16 He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 1:16 その右手に七つの星を持ち、口からは、鋭いもろ刃のつるぎがつき出ており、顔は、強く照り輝く太陽のようであった。
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Don't be afraid. I am the first and the last, 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 1:17 わたしは彼を見たとき、その足もとに倒れて死人のようになった。すると、彼は右手をわたしの上において言った、「恐れるな。わたしは初めであり、終りであり、
18 and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. 20 the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lamp stands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven assemblies. The seven lamp stands are seven assemblies. 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. 1 "To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write: "He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lampstands says these things: 1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2:1 エペソにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く者が、次のように言われる。
2 "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can't tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false. 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 2:2 わたしは、あなたのわざと労苦と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをゆるしておくことができず、使徒と自称してはいるが、その実、使徒でない者たちをためしてみて、にせ者であると見抜いたことも、知っている。
3 You have perseverance and have endured for my name's sake, and have not grown weary. 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 2:3 あなたは忍耐をし続け、わたしの名のために忍びとおして、弱り果てることがなかった。
4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 2:4 しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。
5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 2:5 そこで、あなたはどこから落ちたかを思い起し、悔い改めて初めのわざを行いなさい。もし、そうしないで悔い改めなければ、わたしはあなたのところにきて、あなたの燭台をその場所から取りのけよう。
6 But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. 2:6 しかし、こういうことはある、あなたはニコライ宗の人々のわざを憎んでおり、わたしもそれを憎んでいる。
7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God. 7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. 2:7 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木の実を食べることをゆるそう』。
8 "To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write: "The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things: 8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; 2:8 スミルナにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『初めであり、終りである者、死んだことはあるが生き返った者が、次のように言われる。
9 "I know your works, oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. 2:9 わたしは、あなたの苦難や、貧しさを知っている(しかし実際は、あなたは富んでいるのだ)。また、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくてサタンの会堂に属する者たちにそしられていることも、わたしは知っている。
10 Don't be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 2:10 あなたの受けようとする苦しみを恐れてはならない。見よ、悪魔が、あなたがたのうちのある者をためすために、獄に入れようとしている。あなたがたは十日の間、苦難にあうであろう。死に至るまで忠実であれ。そうすれば、いのちの冠を与えよう。
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won't be harmed by the second death. 11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. 2:11 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者は、第二の死によって滅ぼされることはない』。
12 "To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write: "He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things: 12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; 2:12 ペルガモにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『鋭いもろ刃のつるぎを持っているかたが、次のように言われる。
13 "I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn't deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. 2:13 わたしはあなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの座がある。あなたは、わたしの名を堅く持ちつづけ、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住んでいるあなたがたの所で殺された時でさえ、わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。
14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. 14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 2:14 しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことが、少しばかりある。あなたがたの中には、現にバラムの教を奉じている者がある。バラムは、バラクに教え込み、イスラエルの子らの前に、つまずきになるものを置かせて、偶像にささげたものを食べさせ、また不品行をさせたのである。
15 So you also have some who hold to the teaching of theNicolaitans likewise . 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. 2:15 同じように、あなたがたの中には、ニコライ宗の教を奉じている者もいる。
16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 2:16 だから、悔い改めなさい。そうしないと、わたしはすぐにあなたのところに行き、わたしの口のつるぎをもって彼らと戦おう。
17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who receives it. 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. 2:17 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、隠されているマナを与えよう。また、白い石を与えよう。この石の上には、これを受ける者のほかだれも知らない新しい名が書いてある』。
18 "To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: "The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things: 18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 2:18 テアテラにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『燃える炎のような目と光り輝くしんちゅうのような足とを持った神の子が、次のように言われる。
19 "I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first. 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 2:19 わたしは、あなたのわざと、あなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたの後のわざが、初めのよりもまさっていることを知っている。
20 But I have this against you, that you tolerateyour woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 2:20 しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは、あのイゼベルという女を、そのなすがままにさせている。この女は女預言者と自称し、わたしの僕たちを教え、惑わして、不品行をさせ、偶像にささげたものを食べさせている。
21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 2:21 わたしは、この女に悔い改めるおりを与えたが、悔い改めてその不品行をやめようとはしない。
22 Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 2:22 見よ、わたしはこの女を病の床に投げ入れる。この女と姦淫する者をも、悔い改めて彼女のわざから離れなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ入れる。
23 I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 2:23 また、この女の子供たちをも打ち殺そう。こうしてすべての教会は、わたしが人の心の奥底までも探り知る者であることを悟るであろう。そしてわたしは、あなたがたひとりびとりのわざに応じて報いよう。
24 But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don't have this teaching, who don't know what some call 'the deep things of Satan,' to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 2:24 また、テアテラにいるほかの人たちで、まだあの女の教を受けておらず、サタンの、いわゆる「深み」を知らないあなたがたに言う。わたしは別にほかの重荷を、あなたがたに負わせることはしない。
25 Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. 2:25 ただ、わたしが来る時まで、自分の持っているものを堅く保っていなさい。
26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations. 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 2:26 勝利を得る者、わたしのわざを最後まで持ち続ける者には、諸国民を支配する権威を授ける。
27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 2:27 彼は鉄のつえをもって、ちょうど土の器を砕くように、彼らを治めるであろう。それは、わたし自身が父から権威を受けて治めるのと同様である。

1 "And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: "He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things: "I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 3:1 サルデスにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『神の七つの霊と七つの星とを持つかたが、次のように言われる。わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。すなわち、あなたは、生きているというのは名だけで、実は死んでいる。
2 Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3:2 目をさましていて、死にかけている残りの者たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたのわざが、わたしの神のみまえに完全であるとは見ていない。
3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won't watch, I will come as a thief, and you won't know what hour I will come upon you. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 3:3 だから、あなたが、どのようにして受けたか、また聞いたかを思い起して、それを守りとおし、かつ悔い改めなさい。もし目をさましていないなら、わたしは盗人のように来るであろう。どんな時にあなたのところに来るか、あなたには決してわからない。
4 Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 3:4 しかし、サルデスにはその衣を汚さない人が、数人いる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしと共に歩みを続けるであろう。彼らは、それにふさわしい者である。
5 He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 3:5 勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられるのである。わたしは、その名をいのちの書から消すようなことを、決してしない。また、わたしの父と御使たちの前で、その名を言いあらわそう。
6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. 6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. 3:6 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
7 "To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: "He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things: 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; 3:7 ヒラデルヒヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『聖なる者、まことなる者、ダビデのかぎを持つ者、開けばだれにも閉じられることがなく、閉じればだれにも開かれることのない者が、次のように言われる。
8 "I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn't deny my name. 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. 3:8 わたしは、あなたのわざを知っている。見よ、わたしは、あなたの前に、だれも閉じることのできない門を開いておいた。なぜなら、あなたには少ししか力がなかったにもかかわらず、わたしの言葉を守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。
9 Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie. Behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. 3:9 見よ、サタンの会堂に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくて、偽る者たちに、こうしよう。見よ、彼らがあなたの足もとにきて平伏するようにし、そして、わたしがあなたを愛していることを、彼らに知らせよう。
10 Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 3:10 忍耐についてのわたしの言葉をあなたが守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちをためすために、全世界に臨もうとしている試錬の時に、あなたを防ぎ守ろう。
11 I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 3:11 わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠がだれにも奪われないように、自分の持っているものを堅く守っていなさい。
12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name. 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. 3:12 勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所における柱にしよう。彼は決して二度と外へ出ることはない。そして彼の上に、わたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、天とわたしの神のみもとから下ってくる新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを、書きつけよう。
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. 13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. 3:13 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』。
14 "To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: "The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Head of God's creation, says these things: 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 3:14 ラオデキヤにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『アァメンたる者、忠実な、まことの証人、神に造られたものの根源であるかたが、次のように言われる。
15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 3:15 わたしはあなたのわざを知っている。あなたは冷たくもなく、熱くもない。むしろ、冷たいか熱いかであってほしい。
16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 3:16 このように、熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう。
17 Because you say, 'I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing;' and don't know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 3:17 あなたは、自分は富んでいる、豊かになった、なんの不自由もないと言っているが、実は、あなた自身がみじめな者、あわれむべき者、貧しい者、目の見えない者、裸な者であることに気がついていない。
18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 3:18 そこで、あなたに勧める。富む者となるために、わたしから火で精錬された金の十字架を買い、また、あなたの裸の恥をさらさないため身に着けるように、白い衣を買いなさい。また、見えるようになるため、目にぬる目薬を買いなさい。
19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 3:19 すべてわたしの愛している者を、わたしはしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって悔い改めなさい。
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 3:20 見よ、わたしは戸の外に立って、たたいている。だれでもわたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしはその中にはいって彼と食を共にし、彼もまたわたしと食を共にするであろう。
21 He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 3:21 勝利を得る者には、わたしと共にわたしの座につかせよう。それはちょうど、わたしが勝利を得てわたしの父と共にその御座についたのと同様である。
22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies." 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. 3:22 耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい』」。

1 After these things I looked and saw a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, was one saying, "Come up here, and I will show you the things which must happen after this." 1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 4:1 その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、開いた門が天にあった。そして、さきにラッパのような声でわたしに呼びかけるのを聞いた初めの声が、「ここに上ってきなさい。そうしたら、これから後に起るべきことを、見せてあげよう」と言った。
2 Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 4:2 すると、たちまち、わたしは御霊に感じた。見よ、御座が天に設けられており、その御座にいますかたがあった。
3 that looked like a jasper stone and a sardius. There was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald to look at. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4:3 その座にいますかたは、碧玉や赤めのうのように見え、また、御座のまわりには、緑玉のように見えるにじが現れていた。
4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones. On the thrones were twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white garments, with crowns of gold on their heads. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 4:4 また、御座のまわりには二十四の座があって、二十四人の長老が白い衣を身にまとい、頭に金の冠をかぶって、それらの座についていた。
5 Out of the throne proceed lightnings, sounds, and thunders. There were seven lamps of fire burning before his throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 4:5 御座からは、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが、発していた。また、七つのともし火が、御座の前で燃えていた。これらは、神の七つの霊である。
6 Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the midst of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 4:6 御座の前は、水晶に似たガラスの海のようであった。御座のそば近くそのまわりには、四つの生き物がいたが、その前にも後にも、一面に目がついていた。
7 The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like a man, and the fourth was like a flying eagle. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 4:7 第一の生き物はししのようであり、第二の生き物は雄牛のようであり、第三の生き物は人のような顔をしており、第四の生き物は飛ぶわしのようであった。
8 The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!" 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 4:8 この四つの生き物には、それぞれ六つの翼があり、その翼のまわりも内側も目で満ちていた。そして、昼も夜も、絶え間なくこう叫びつづけていた、「聖なるかな、聖なるかな、聖なるかな、全能者にして主なる神。昔いまし、今いまし、やがてきたるべき者」。
9 When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, 9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 4:9 これらの生き物が、御座にいまし、かつ、世々限りなく生きておられるかたに、栄光とほまれとを帰し、また、感謝をささげている時、
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 4:10 二十四人の長老は、御座にいますかたのみまえにひれ伏し、世々限りなく生きておられるかたを拝み、彼らの冠を御座のまえに、投げ出して言った、
11 "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed, and were created!" 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. 4:11 「われらの主なる神よ、あなたこそは、栄光とほまれと力とを受けるにふさわしいかた。あなたは万物を造られました。御旨によって、万物は存在し、また造られたのであります」。

1 I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals. 1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 5:1 わたしはまた、御座にいますかたの右の手に、巻物があるのを見た。その内側にも外側にも字が書いてあって、七つの封印で封じてあった。
2 I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?" 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 5:2 また、ひとりの強い御使が、大声で、「その巻物を開き、封印をとくのにふさわしい者は、だれか」と呼ばわっているのを見た。
3 No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look in it. 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 5:3 しかし、天にも地にも地の下にも、この巻物を開いて、それを見ることのできる者は、ひとりもいなかった。
4 And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look in it. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5:4 巻物を開いてそれを見るのにふさわしい者が見当らないので、わたしは激しく泣いていた。
5 One of the elders said to me, "Don't weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome; he who opens the book and its seven seals." 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 5:5 すると、長老のひとりがわたしに言った、「泣くな。見よ、ユダ族のしし、ダビデの若枝であるかたが、勝利を得たので、その巻物を開き七つの封印を解くことができる」。
6 I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. 5:6 わたしはまた、御座と四つの生き物との間、長老たちの間に、ほふられたとみえる小羊が立っているのを見た。それに七つの角と七つの目とがあった。これらの目は、全世界につかわされた、神の七つの霊である。
7 Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. 5:7 小羊は進み出て、御座にいますかたの右の手から、巻物を受けとった。
8 Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 5:8 巻物を受けとった時、四つの生き物と二十四人の長老とは、おのおの、立琴と、香の満ちている金の鉢とを手に持って、小羊の前にひれ伏した。この香は聖徒の祈である。
9 They sang a new song, saying, "You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation, 9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 5:9 彼らは新しい歌を歌って言った、「あなたこそは、その巻物を受けとり、封印を解くにふさわしいかたであります。あなたはほふられ、その血によって、神のために、あらゆる部族、国語、民族、国民の中から人々をあがない、
10 and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on earth." 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 5:10 わたしたちの神のために、彼らを御国の民とし、祭司となさいました。彼らは地上を支配するに至るでしょう」。
11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands; 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 5:11 さらに見ていると、御座と生き物と長老たちとのまわりに、多くの御使たちの声が上がるのを聞いた。その数は万の幾万倍、千の幾千倍もあって、
12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!" 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 5:12 大声で叫んでいた、「ほふられた小羊こそは、力と、富と、知恵と、勢いと、ほまれと、栄光と、さんびとを受けるにふさわしい」。
13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion,forever and ever!Amen! " 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 5:13 またわたしは、天と地、地の下と海の中にあるすべての造られたもの、そして、それらの中にあるすべてのものの言う声を聞いた、「御座にいますかたと小羊とに、さんびと、ほまれと、栄光と、権力とが、世々限りなくあるように」。
14 The four living creatures said, "Amen!" The elders fell down and worshiped. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. 5:14 四つの生き物はアァメンと唱え、長老たちはひれ伏して礼拝した。

1 I saw that the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, "Come and see!" 1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. 6:1 小羊がその七つの封印の一つを解いた時、わたしが見ていると、四つの生き物の一つが、雷のような声で「きたれ」と呼ぶのを聞いた。
2 And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came forth conquering, and to conquer. 2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. 6:2 そして見ていると、見よ、白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、弓を手に持っており、また冠を与えられて、勝利の上にもなお勝利を得ようとして出かけた。
3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!" 3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 6:3 小羊が第二の封印を解いた時、第二の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。
4 Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. 6:4 すると今度は、赤い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、人々が互に殺し合うようになるために、地上から平和を奪い取ることを許され、また、大きなつるぎを与えられた。
5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come and see!" And behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a balance in his hand. 5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6:5 また、第三の封印を解いた時、第三の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。そこで見ていると、見よ、黒い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、はかりを手に持っていた。
6 I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "Achoenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenix of barley for a denarius! Don't damage the oil and the wine!" 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. 6:6 すると、わたしは四つの生き物の間から出て来ると思われる声が、こう言うのを聞いた、「小麦一ますは一デナリ。大麦三ますも一デナリ。オリブ油とぶどう酒とを、そこなうな」。
7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see!" 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 6:7 小羊が第四の封印を解いた時、第四の生き物が「きたれ」と言う声を、わたしは聞いた。
8 And behold, a pale horse, and he who sat on it, his name was Death.Hades followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. 6:8 そこで見ていると、見よ、青白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者の名は「死」と言い、それに黄泉が従っていた。彼らには、地の四分の一を支配する権威、および、つるぎと、ききんと、死と、地の獣らとによって人を殺す権威とが、与えられた。
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the Word of God, and for the testimony of the Lamb which they had. 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 6:9 小羊が第五の封印を解いた時、神の言のゆえに、また、そのあかしを立てたために、殺された人々の霊魂が、祭壇の下にいるのを、わたしは見た。
10 They cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 6:10 彼らは大声で叫んで言った、「聖なる、まことなる主よ。いつまであなたは、さばくことをなさらず、また地に住む者に対して、わたしたちの血の報復をなさらないのですか」。
11 A long white robe was given to each of them. They were told that they should rest yet for a while, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who would also be killed even as they were, should complete their course. 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. 6:11 すると、彼らのひとりびとりに白い衣が与えられ、それから、「彼らと同じく殺されようとする僕仲間や兄弟たちの数が満ちるまで、もうしばらくの間、休んでいるように」と言い渡された。
12 I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became as blood. 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 6:12 小羊が第六の封印を解いた時、わたしが見ていると、大地震が起って、太陽は毛織の荒布のように黒くなり、月は全面、血のようになり、
13 The stars of the sky fell to the earth, like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when it is shaken by a great wind. 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 6:13 天の星は、いちじくのまだ青い実が大風に揺られて振り落されるように、地に落ちた。
14 The sky was removed like a scroll when it is rolled up. Every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 6:14 天は巻物が巻かれるように消えていき、すべての山と島とはその場所から移されてしまった。
15 The kings of the earth, the princes, the commanding officers, the rich, the strong, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 6:15 地の王たち、高官、千卒長、富める者、勇者、奴隷、自由人らはみな、ほら穴や山の岩かげに、身をかくした。
16 They told the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 6:16 そして、山と岩とにむかって言った、「さあ、われわれをおおって、御座にいますかたの御顔と小羊の怒りとから、かくまってくれ。
17 for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?" 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? 6:17 御怒りの大いなる日が、すでにきたのだ。だれが、その前に立つことができようか」。

1 After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth, or on the sea, or on any tree. 1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 7:1 この後、わたしは四人の御使が地の四すみに立っているのを見た。彼らは地の四方の風をひき止めて、地にも海にもすべての木にも、吹きつけないようにしていた。
2 I saw another angel ascend from the sunrise, having the seal of the living God. He cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea, 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 7:2 また、もうひとりの御使が、生ける神の印を持って、日の出る方から上って来るのを見た。彼は地と海とをそこなう権威を授かっている四人の御使にむかって、大声で叫んで言った、
3 saying, "Don't harm the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, until we have sealed the bondservants of our God on their foreheads!" 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 7:3 「わたしたちの神の僕らの額に、わたしたちが印をおしてしまうまでは、地と海と木とをそこなってはならない」。
4 I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel: 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 7:4 わたしは印をおされた者の数を聞いたが、イスラエルの子らのすべての部族のうち、印をおされた者は十四万四千人であった。
5 of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand, of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand, 5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 7:9 その後、わたしが見ていると、見よ、あらゆる国民、部族、民族、国語のうちから、数えきれないほどの大ぜいの群衆が、白い衣を身にまとい、しゅろの枝を手に持って、御座と小羊との前に立ち、

11 All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God, 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 7:11 御使たちはみな、御座と長老たちと四つの生き物とのまわりに立っていたが、御座の前にひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
12 saying, "Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen." 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. 7:12 「アァメン、さんび、栄光、知恵、感謝、ほまれ、力、勢いが、世々限りなく、われらの神にあるように、アァメン」。
13 One of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?" 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 7:13 長老たちのひとりが、わたしにむかって言った、「この白い衣を身にまとっている人々は、だれか。また、どこからきたのか」。
14 I told him, "My lord, you know." He said to me, "These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb's blood. 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 7:14 わたしは彼に答えた、「わたしの主よ、それはあなたがご存じです」。すると、彼はわたしに言った、「彼らは大きな患難をとおってきた人たちであって、その衣を小羊の血で洗い、それを白くしたのである。
15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. 7:17 御座の正面にいます小羊は彼らの牧者となって、いのちの水の泉に導いて下さるであろう。また神は、彼らの目から涙をことごとくぬぐいとって下さるであろう」。

1 When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 8:1 小羊が第七の封印を解いた時、半時間ばかり天に静けさがあった。
2 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 8:2 それからわたしは、神のみまえに立っている七人の御使を見た。そして、七つのラッパが彼らに与えられた。
3 Another angel came and stood over the altar, having a golden censer. Much incense was given to him, that he should add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 8:3 また、別の御使が出てきて、金の香炉を手に持って祭壇の前に立った。たくさんの香が彼に与えられていたが、これは、すべての聖徒の祈に加えて、御座の前の金の祭壇の上にささげるためのものであった。
4 The smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 8:4 香の煙は、御使の手から、聖徒たちの祈と共に神のみまえに立ちのぼった。
5 The angel took the censer, and he filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it on the earth. There followed thunders, sounds, lightnings, and an earthquake. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 8:5 御使はその香炉をとり、これに祭壇の火を満たして、地に投げつけた。すると、多くの雷鳴と、もろもろの声と、いなずまと、地震とが起った。
6 The seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 8:6 そこで、七つのラッパを持っている七人の御使が、それを吹く用意をした。
7 The first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth.One third of the earth was burnt up, and one third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 8:7 第一の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、血のまじった雹と火とがあらわれて、地上に降ってきた。そして、地の三分の一が焼け、木の三分の一が焼け、また、すべての青草も焼けてしまった。
8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea. One third of the sea became blood, 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 8:8 第二の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、火の燃えさかっている大きな山のようなものが、海に投げ込まれた。そして、海の三分の一は血となり、
9 and one third of the living creatures which were in the sea died. One third of the ships were destroyed. 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. 8:9 海の中の造られた生き物の三分の一は死に、舟の三分の一がこわされてしまった。
10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of the waters. 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 8:10 第三の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、たいまつのように燃えている大きな星が、空から落ちてきた。そしてそれは、川の三分の一とその水源との上に落ちた。
11 The name of the star is called "Wormwood." One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter. 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. 8:11 この星の名は「苦よもぎ」と言い、水の三分の一が「苦よもぎ」のように苦くなった。水が苦くなったので、そのために多くの人が死んだ。
12 The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars; so that one third of them would be darkened, and the day wouldn't shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way. 12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. 8:12 第四の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、太陽の三分の一と、月の三分の一と、星の三分の一とが打たれて、これらのものの三分の一は暗くなり、昼の三分の一は明るくなくなり、夜も同じようになった。
13 I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the trumpets of the three angels, who are yet to sound!" 13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! 8:13 また、わたしが見ていると、一羽のわしが中空を飛び、大きな声でこう言うのを聞いた、「ああ、わざわいだ、わざわいだ、地に住む人々は、わざわいだ。なお三人の御使がラッパを吹き鳴らそうとしている」。

1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him. 1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 9:1 第五の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。するとわたしは、一つの星が天から地に落ちて来るのを見た。この星に、底知れぬ所の穴を開くかぎが与えられた。
2 He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 9:2 そして、この底知れぬ所の穴が開かれた。すると、その穴から煙が大きな炉の煙のように立ちのぼり、その穴の煙で、太陽も空気も暗くなった。
3 Then out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 9:3 その煙の中から、いなごが地上に出てきたが、地のさそりが持っているような力が、彼らに与えられた。
4 They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don't have God's seal on their foreheads. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 9:4 彼らは、地の草やすべての青草、またすべての木をそこなってはならないが、額に神の印がない人たちには害を加えてもよいと、言い渡された。
5 They were given power not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 9:5 彼らは、人間を殺すことはしないで、五か月のあいだ苦しめることだけが許された。彼らの与える苦痛は、人がさそりにさされる時のような苦痛であった。
6 In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 9:6 その時には、人々は死を求めても与えられず、死にたいと願っても、死は逃げて行くのである。
7 The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people's faces. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 9:7 これらのいなごは、出陣の用意のととのえられた馬によく似ており、その頭には金の冠のようなものをつけ、その顔は人間の顔のようであり、
8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like those of lions. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9:8 また、そのかみの毛は女のかみのようであり、その歯はししの歯のようであった。
9 They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 9:9 また、鉄の胸当のような胸当をつけており、その羽の音は、馬に引かれて戦場に急ぐ多くの戦車の響きのようであった。
10 They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 9:10 その上、さそりのような尾と針とを持っている。その尾には、五か月のあいだ人間をそこなう力がある。
11 They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is"Abaddon," but in Greek, he has the name"Apollyon." 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. 9:11 彼らは、底知れぬ所の使を王にいただいており、その名をヘブル語でアバドンと言い、ギリシヤ語ではアポルオンと言う。
12 The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this. 12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. 9:12 第一のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、この後、なお二つのわざわいが来る。
13 The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God, 13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 9:13 第六の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、一つの声が、神のみまえにある金の祭壇の四つの角から出て、
14 saying to the sixth angel who had one trumpet, "Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!" 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 9:14 ラッパを持っている第六の御使にこう呼びかけるのを、わたしは聞いた。「大ユウフラテ川のほとりにつながれている四人の御使を、解いてやれ」。
15 The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 9:15 すると、その時、その日、その月、その年に備えておかれた四人の御使が、人間の三分の一を殺すために、解き放たれた。
16 The number of the armies of the horsemen wastwo hundred million . I heard the number of them. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 9:16 騎兵隊の数は二億であった。わたしはその数を聞いた。
17 Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of lions. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 9:17 そして、まぼろしの中で、それらの馬とそれに乗っている者たちとを見ると、乗っている者たちは、火の色と青玉色と硫黄の色の胸当をつけていた。そして、それらの馬の頭はししの頭のようであって、その口から火と煙と硫黄とが、出ていた。
18 By these three plagues were one third of mankind killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 9:18 この三つの災害、すなわち、彼らの口から出て来る火と煙と硫黄とによって、人間の三分の一は殺されてしまった。
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads, and with them they harm. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 9:19 馬の力はその口と尾とにある。その尾はへびに似ていて、それに頭があり、その頭で人に害を加えるのである。
20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn't repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn't worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 9:20 これらの災害で殺されずに残った人々は、自分の手で造ったものについて、悔い改めようとせず、また悪霊のたぐいや、金、銀、銅、石、木で造られ、見ることも聞くことも歩くこともできない偶像を礼拝して、やめようともしなかった。
21 They didn't repent of their murders, nor of theirsorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts. 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. 9:21 また、彼らは、その犯した殺人や、まじないや、不品行や、盗みを悔い改めようとしなかった。

1 I saw a mighty angel coming down out of the sky, clothed with a cloud. A rainbow was on his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: 10:1 わたしは、もうひとりの強い御使が、雲に包まれて、天から降りて来るのを見た。その頭に、にじをいただき、その顔は太陽のようで、その足は火の柱のようであった。
2 He had in his hand a little open book. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land. 2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, 10:2 彼は、開かれた小さな巻物を手に持っていた。そして、右足を海の上に、左足を地の上に踏みおろして、
3 He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars. When he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. 3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. 10:3 ししがほえるように大声で叫んだ。彼が叫ぶと、七つの雷がおのおのその声を発した。
4 When the seven thunders sounded, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from the sky saying, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and don't write them." 4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 10:4 七つの雷が声を発した時、わたしはそれを書きとめようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷の語ったことを封印せよ。それを書きとめるな」と言うのを聞いた。
5 The angel who I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky, 5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 10:5 それから、海と地の上に立っているのをわたしが見たあの御使は、天にむけて右手を上げ、
6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay, 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 10:6 天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを造り、世々限りなく生きておられるかたをさして誓った、「もう時がない。
7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants, the prophets. 7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. 10:7 第七の御使が吹き鳴らすラッパの音がする時には、神がその僕、預言者たちにお告げになったとおり、神の奥義は成就される」。
8 The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said, "Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land." 8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 10:8 すると、前に天から聞えてきた声が、またわたしに語って言った、「さあ行って、海と地との上に立っている御使の手に開かれている巻物を、受け取りなさい」。
9 I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. He said to me, "Take it, and eat it up. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey." 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10:9 そこで、わたしはその御使のもとに行って、「その小さな巻物を下さい」と言った。すると、彼は言った、「取って、それを食べてしまいなさい。あなたの腹には苦いが、口には蜜のように甘い」。
10 I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth. When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. 10:10 わたしは御使の手からその小さな巻物を受け取って食べてしまった。すると、わたしの口には蜜のように甘かったが、それを食べたら、腹が苦くなった。
11 They told me, "You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings." 11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. 10:11 その時、「あなたは、もう一度、多くの民族、国民、国語、王たちについて、預言せねばならない」と言う声がした。

1 A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, "Rise, and measure God's temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. 1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 11:1 それから、わたしはつえのような測りざおを与えられて、こう命じられた、「さあ立って、神の聖所と祭壇と、そこで礼拝している人々とを、測りなさい。
2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don't measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 11:2 聖所の外の庭はそのままにしておきなさい。それを測ってはならない。そこは異邦人に与えられた所だから。彼らは、四十二か月の間この聖なる都を踏みにじるであろう。
3 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 11:3 そしてわたしは、わたしのふたりの証人に、荒布を着て、千二百六十日のあいだ預言することを許そう」。
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 11:4 彼らは、全地の主のみまえに立っている二本のオリブの木、また、二つの燭台である。
5 If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 11:5 もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、彼らの口から火が出て、その敵を滅ぼすであろう。もし彼らに害を加えようとする者があれば、その者はこのように殺されねばならない。
6 These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 11:6 預言をしている期間、彼らは、天を閉じて雨を降らせないようにする力を持っている。さらにまた、水を血に変え、何度でも思うままに、あらゆる災害で地を打つ力を持っている。
7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 11:7 そして、彼らがそのあかしを終えると、底知れぬ所からのぼって来る獣が、彼らと戦って打ち勝ち、彼らを殺す。
8 Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 11:8 彼らの死体はソドムや、エジプトにたとえられている大いなる都の大通りにさらされる。彼らの主も、この都で十字架につけられたのである。
9 From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 11:9 いろいろな民族、部族、国語、国民に属する人々が、三日半の間、彼らの死体をながめるが、その死体を墓に納めることは許さない。
10 Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11:10 地に住む人々は、彼らのことで喜び楽しみ、互に贈り物をしあう。このふたりの預言者は、地に住む者たちを悩ましたからである。
11 After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them. 11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 11:11 三日半の後、いのちの息が、神から出て彼らの中にはいり、そして、彼らが立ち上がったので、それを見た人々は非常な恐怖に襲われた。
12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here!" They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 11:12 その時、天から大きな声がして、「ここに上ってきなさい」と言うのを、彼らは聞いた。そして、彼らは雲に乗って天に上った。彼らの敵はそれを見た。
13 In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 11:13 この時、大地震が起って、都の十分の一は倒れ、その地震で七千人が死に、生き残った人々は驚き恐れて、天の神に栄光を帰した。
14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly. 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 11:14 第二のわざわいは、過ぎ去った。見よ、第三のわざわいがすぐに来る。
15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!" 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 11:15 第七の御使が、ラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、大きな声々が天に起って言った、「この世の国は、われらの主とそのキリストとの国となった。主は世々限りなく支配なさるであろう」。
16 The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God's throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 11:16 そして、神のみまえで座についている二十四人の長老は、ひれ伏し、神を拝して言った、
17 saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was ; because you have taken your great power, and reigned. 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 11:17 「今いまし、昔いませる、全能者にして主なる神よ。大いなる御力をふるって支配なさったことを、感謝します。
18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth." 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 11:18 諸国民は怒り狂いましたが、あなたも怒りをあらわされました。そして、死人をさばき、あなたの僕なる預言者、聖徒、小さき者も、大いなる者も、すべて御名をおそれる者たちに報いを与え、また、地を滅ぼす者どもを滅ぼして下さる時がきました」。
19 God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. 11:19 そして、天にある神の聖所が開けて、聖所の中に契約の箱が見えた。また、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴と、地震とが起り、大粒の雹が降った。

1 A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 1 And there appeared a great wonder in Heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 12:1 また、大いなるしるしが天に現れた。ひとりの女が太陽を着て、足の下に月を踏み、その頭に十二の星の冠をかぶっていた。
2 She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth. 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 12:2 この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns. 3 And there appeared another wonder in Heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 12:3 また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
4 His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 12:4 その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地に投げ落した。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前に立ち、生れたなら、その子を食い尽そうとかまえていた。
5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 12:5 女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 12:6 女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。
7 There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 12:7 さて、天では戦いが起った。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使たちも応戦したが、
8 They didn't prevail, neither was a place found for him any more in heaven. 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 12:8 勝てなかった。そして、もはや天には彼らのおる所がなくなった。
9 The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 12:9 この巨大な龍、すなわち、悪魔とか、サタンとか呼ばれ、全世界を惑わす年を経たへびは、地に投げ落され、その使たちも、もろともに投げ落された。
10 I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 12:10 その時わたしは、大きな声が天でこう言うのを聞いた、「今や、われらの神の救と力と国と、神のキリストの権威とは、現れた。われらの兄弟らを訴える者、夜昼われらの神のみまえで彼らを訴える者は、投げ落された。
11 They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn't love their life, even to death. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12:11 兄弟たちは、小羊の血と彼らのあかしの言葉とによって、彼にうち勝ち、死に至るまでもそのいのちを惜しまなかった。
12 Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time." 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 12:12 それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ、おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。
13 When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 12:13 龍は、自分が地上に投げ落されたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。
14 Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 12:14 しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。
15 The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 12:15 へびは女の後に水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。
16 The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 12:16 しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
17 The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God's commandments and hold Jesus' testimony. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. 12:17 龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names. 1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 13:1 そして、海の砂の上に立った。わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた。
2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 13:2 わたしの見たこの獣はひょうに似ており、その足はくまの足のようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 13:3 その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人々は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
4 They worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 13:4 また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him. 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 13:5 この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 13:6 そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
7 It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 13:7 そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威を与えられた。
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 13:8 地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 13:9 耳のある者は、聞くがよい。
10 If anyone has captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints. 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 13:10 とりこになるべき者は、とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とがある。
11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon. 11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 13:11 わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13:12 そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 13:13 また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived. 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 13:14 さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
15 It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn't worship the image of the beast to be killed. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 13:15 それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 13:16 また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、
17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name. 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 13:17 この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. 13:18 ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮のある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。

1 I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him a number, one hundred forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads. 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 14:1 なお、わたしが見ていると、見よ、小羊がシオンの山に立っていた。また、十四万四千の人々が小羊と共におり、その額に小羊の名とその父の名とが書かれていた。
2 I heard a sound from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of a great thunder. The sound which I heard was like that of harpists playing on their harps. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 14:2 またわたしは、大水のとどろきのような、激しい雷鳴のような声が、天から出るのを聞いた。わたしの聞いたその声は、琴をひく人が立琴をひく音のようでもあった。
3 They sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand, those who had been redeemed out of the earth. 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 14:3 彼らは、御座の前、四つの生き物と長老たちとの前で、新しい歌を歌った。この歌は、地からあがなわれた十四万四千人のほかは、だれも学ぶことができなかった。
4 These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 14:4 彼らは、女にふれたことのない者である。彼らは、純潔な者である。そして、小羊の行く所へは、どこへでもついて行く。彼らは、神と小羊とにささげられる初穂として、人間の中からあがなわれた者である。
5 In their mouth was found no lie, for they are blameless. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. 14:5 彼らの口には偽りがなく、彼らは傷のない者であった。
6 I saw an angel flying in mid heaven, having an eternal Good News to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people. 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 14:6 わたしは、もうひとりの御使が中空を飛ぶのを見た。彼は地に住む者、すなわち、あらゆる国民、部族、国語、民族に宣べ伝えるために、永遠の福音をたずさえてきて、
7 He said with a loud voice, "Fear the Lord, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of waters!" 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 14:7 大声で言った、「神をおそれ、神に栄光を帰せよ。神のさばきの時がきたからである。天と地と海と水の源とを造られたかたを、伏し拝め」。
8 Another, a second angel, followed, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, which has made all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality." 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 14:8 また、ほかの第二の御使が、続いてきて言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。その不品行に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を、あらゆる国民に飲ませた者」。
9 Another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a great voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand, 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 14:9 ほかの第三の御使が彼らに続いてきて、大声で言った、「おおよそ、獣とその像とを拝み、額や手に刻印を受ける者は、
10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is prepared unmixed in the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 14:10 神の怒りの杯に混ぜものなしに盛られた、神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、聖なる御使たちと小羊との前で、火と硫黄とで苦しめられる。
11 The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 14:11 その苦しみの煙は世々限りなく立ちのぼり、そして、獣とその像とを拝む者、また、だれでもその名の刻印を受けている者は、昼も夜も休みが得られない。
12 Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 14:12 ここに、神の戒めを守り、イエスを信じる信仰を持ちつづける聖徒の忍耐がある」。
13 I heard the voice from heaven saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them." 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. 14:13 またわたしは、天からの声がこう言うのを聞いた、「書きしるせ、『今から後、主にあって死ぬ死人はさいわいである』」。御霊も言う、「しかり、彼らはその労苦を解かれて休み、そのわざは彼らについていく」。
14 I looked, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud one sitting like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 14:14 また見ていると、見よ、白い雲があって、その雲の上に人の子のような者が座しており、頭には金の冠をいただき、手には鋭いかまを持っていた。
15 Another angel came out from the temple, crying with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, "Send forth your sickle, and reap; for the hour to reap has come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe!" 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 14:15 すると、もうひとりの御使が聖所から出てきて、雲の上に座している者にむかって大声で叫んだ、「かまを入れて刈り取りなさい。地の穀物は全く実り、刈り取るべき時がきた」。
16 He who sat on the cloud thrust his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. 14:16 雲の上に座している者は、そのかまを地に投げ入れた。すると、地のものが刈り取られた。
17 Another angel came out from the temple which is in heaven. He also had a sharp sickle. 17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 14:17 また、もうひとりの御使が、天の聖所から出てきたが、彼もまた鋭いかまを持っていた。
18 Another angel came out from the altar, he who has power over fire, and he called with a great voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Send forth your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for the earth's grapes are fully ripe!" 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. 14:18 さらに、もうひとりの御使で、火を支配する権威を持っている者が、祭壇から出てきて、鋭いかまを持つ御使にむかい、大声で言った、「その鋭いかまを地に入れて、地のぶどうのふさを刈り集めなさい。ぶどうの実がすでに熟しているから」。
19 The angel thrust his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 14:19 そこで、御使はそのかまを地に投げ入れて、地のぶどうを刈り集め、神の激しい怒りの大きな酒ぶねに投げ込んだ。
20 The winepress was trodden outside of the city, and blood came out from the winepress, even to the bridles of the horses, as far as one thousand six hundred stadia. 20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. 14:20 そして、その酒ぶねが都の外で踏まれた。すると、血が酒ぶねから流れ出て、馬のくつわにとどくほどになり、一千六百丁にわたってひろがった。

1 I saw another great and marvelous sign in the sky: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them God's wrath is finished. 1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. 15:1 またわたしは、天に大いなる驚くべきほかのしるしを見た。七人の御使が、最後の七つの災害を携えていた。これらの災害で神の激しい怒りがその頂点に達するのである。
2 I saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who overcame the beast,his image, and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. 2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 15:2 またわたしは、火のまじったガラスの海のようなものを見た。そして、このガラスの海のそばに、獣とその像とその名の数字とにうち勝った人々が、神の立琴を手にして立っているのを見た。
3 They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! 4 Who wouldn't fear you, Lord, and glorify your name? For you only are holy. For all the nations will come and worship before you. For your righteous acts have been revealed." 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest. 15:4 主よ、あなたをおそれず、御名をほめたたえない者が、ありましょうか。あなただけが聖なるかたであり、あらゆる国民はきて、あなたを伏し拝むでしょう。あなたの正しいさばきが、あらわれるに至ったからであります」。
5 After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: 15:5 その後、わたしが見ていると、天にある、あかしの幕屋の聖所が開かれ、
6 The seven angels who had the seven plagues came out, clothed with pure, bright linen, and wearing golden sashes around their breasts. 6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. 15:6 その聖所から、七つの災害を携えている七人の御使が、汚れのない、光り輝く亜麻布を身にまとい、金の帯を胸にしめて、出てきた。
7 One of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever. 7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. 15:7 そして、四つの生き物の一つが、世々限りなく生きておられる神の激しい怒りの満ちた七つの金の鉢を、七人の御使に渡した。
8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power. No one was able to enter into the temple, until the seven plagues of the seven angels would be finished. 8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. 15:8 すると、聖所は神の栄光とその力とから立ちのぼる煙で満たされ、七人の御使の七つの災害が終ってしまうまでは、だれも聖所にはいることができなかった。

1 I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God on the earth!" 1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. 16:1 それから、大きな声が聖所から出て、七人の御使にむかい、「さあ行って、神の激しい怒りの七つの鉢を、地に傾けよ」と言うのを聞いた。
2 The first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth, and it became a harmful and evil sore on the people who had the mark of the beast, and who worshiped his image. 2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. 16:2 そして、第一の者が出て行って、その鉢を地に傾けた。すると、獣の刻印を持つ人々と、その像を拝む人々とのからだに、ひどい悪性のでき物ができた。
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man. Every living thing in the sea died. 3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. 16:3 第二の者が、その鉢を海に傾けた。すると、海は死人の血のようになって、その中の生き物がみな死んでしまった。
4 The third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. 16:4 第三の者がその鉢を川と水の源とに傾けた。すると、みな血になった。
5 I heard the angel of the waters saying, "You are righteous, who are and who were, you Holy One, because you have judged these things. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 16:5 それから、水をつかさどる御使がこう言うのを、聞いた、「今いまし、昔いませる聖なる者よ。このようにお定めになったあなたは、正しいかたであります。
6 For they poured out the blood of the saints and the prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this." 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. 16:6 聖徒と預言者との血を流した者たちに、血をお飲ませになりましたが、それは当然のことであります」。
7 I heard the altar saying, "Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments." 7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. 16:7 わたしはまた祭壇がこう言うのを聞いた、「全能者にして主なる神よ。しかり、あなたのさばきは真実で、かつ正しいさばきであります」。
8 The fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was given to him to scorch men with fire. 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 16:8 第四の者が、その鉢を太陽に傾けた。すると、太陽は火で人々を焼くことを許された。
9 People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn't repent and give him glory. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. 16:9 人々は、激しい炎熱で焼かれたが、これらの災害を支配する神の御名を汚し、悔い改めて神に栄光を帰することをしなかった。
10 The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was darkened. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain, 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 16:10 第五の者が、その鉢を獣の座に傾けた。すると、獣の国は暗くなり、人々は苦痛のあまり舌をかみ、
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They didn't repent of their works. 11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. 16:11 その苦痛とでき物とのゆえに、天の神をのろった。そして、自分の行いを悔い改めなかった。
12 The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates. Its water was dried up, that the way might be made ready for the kings that come from the sunrise. 12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 16:12 第六の者が、その鉢を大ユウフラテ川に傾けた。すると、その水は、日の出る方から来る王たちに対し道を備えるために、かれてしまった。
13 I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, something like frogs; 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 16:13 また見ると、龍の口から、獣の口から、にせ預言者の口から、かえるのような三つの汚れた霊が出てきた。
14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs; which go forth to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to gather them together for the war of that great day of God, the Almighty. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 16:14 これらは、しるしを行う悪霊の霊であって、全世界の王たちのところに行き、彼らを召集したが、それは、全能なる神の大いなる日に、戦いをするためであった。
15 "Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn't walk naked, and they see his shame." 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16:15 (見よ、わたしは盗人のように来る。裸のままで歩かないように、また、裸の恥を見られないように、目をさまし着物を身に着けている者は、さいわいである。)
16 He gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew, Megiddo. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. 16:16 三つの霊は、ヘブル語でハルマゲドンという所に、王たちを召集した。
17 The seventh poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came forth out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" 17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. 16:17 第七の者が、その鉢を空中に傾けた。すると、大きな声が聖所の中から、御座から出て、「事はすでに成った」と言った。
18 There were lightnings, sounds, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since there were men on the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty. 18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 16:18 すると、いなずまと、もろもろの声と、雷鳴とが起り、また激しい地震があった。それは人間が地上にあらわれて以来、かつてなかったようなもので、それほどに激しい地震であった。
19 The great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 16:19 大いなる都は三つに裂かれ、諸国民の町々は倒れた。神は大いなるバビロンを思い起し、これに神の激しい怒りのぶどう酒の杯を与えられた。
20 Every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 16:20 島々はみな逃げ去り、山々は見えなくなった。
21 Great hailstones, about the weight of atalent, came down out of the sky on people. People blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for this plague is exceedingly severe. 21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. 16:21 また一タラントの重さほどの大きな雹が、天から人々の上に降ってきた。人々は、この雹の災害のゆえに神をのろった。その災害が、非常に大きかったからである。

1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters, 1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 17:1 それから、七つの鉢を持つ七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。多くの水の上にすわっている大淫婦に対するさばきを、見せよう。
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality." 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 17:2 地の王たちはこの女と姦淫を行い、地に住む人々はこの女の姦淫のぶどう酒に酔いしれている」。
3 He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored animal, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. 3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 17:3 御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、荒野へ連れて行った。わたしは、そこでひとりの女が赤い獣に乗っているのを見た。その獣は神を汚すかずかずの名でおおわれ、また、それに七つの頭と十の角とがあった。
4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of the sexual immorality of the earth. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 17:4 この女は紫と赤の衣をまとい、金と宝石と真珠とで身を飾り、憎むべきものと自分の姦淫の汚れとで満ちている金の杯を手に持ち、
5 And on her forehead a name was written, "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 17:5 その額には、一つの名がしるされていた。それは奥義であって、「大いなるバビロン、淫婦どもと地の憎むべきものらとの母」というのであった。
6 I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement. 6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 17:6 わたしは、この女が聖徒の血とイエスの証人の血に酔いしれているのを見た。この女を見た時、わたしは非常に驚きあやしんだ。
7 The angel said to me, "Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 17:7 すると、御使はわたしに言った、「なぜそんなに驚くのか。この女の奥義と、女を乗せている七つの頭と十の角のある獣の奥義とを、話してあげよう。
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and to go into destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, and shall be present. 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 17:8 あなたの見た獣は、昔はいたが、今はおらず、そして、やがて底知れぬ所から上ってきて、ついには滅びに至るものである。地に住む者のうち、世の初めからいのちの書に名をしるされていない者たちは、この獣が、昔はいたが今はおらず、やがて来るのを見て、驚きあやしむであろう。
9 Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. 9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 17:9 ここに、知恵のある心が必要である。七つの頭は、この女のすわっている七つの山であり、また、七人の王のことである。
10 They are seven kings. Five have fallen, the one is, the other has not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a little while. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 17:10 そのうちの五人はすでに倒れ、ひとりは今おり、もうひとりは、まだきていない。それが来れば、しばらくの間だけおることになっている。
11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goes to destruction. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 17:11 昔はいたが今はいないという獣は、すなわち第八のものであるが、またそれは、かの七人の中のひとりであって、ついには滅びに至るものである。
12 The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour. 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 17:12 あなたの見た十の角は、十人の王のことであって、彼らはまだ国を受けてはいないが、獣と共に、一時だけ王としての権威を受ける。
13 These have one mind, and they give their power and authority to the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 17:13 彼らは心をひとつにしている。そして、自分たちの力と権威とを獣に与える。
14 These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings. They also will overcome who are with him, called and chosen and faithful." 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. 17:14 彼らは小羊に戦いをいどんでくるが、小羊は、主の主、王の王であるから、彼らにうち勝つ。また、小羊と共にいる召された、選ばれた、忠実な者たちも、勝利を得る」。
15 He said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages. 15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 17:15 御使はまた、わたしに言った、「あなたの見た水、すなわち、淫婦のすわっている所は、あらゆる民族、群衆、国民、国語である。
16 The ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, and will make her desolate, and will make her naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire. 16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17:16 あなたの見た十の角と獣とは、この淫婦を憎み、みじめな者にし、裸にし、彼女の肉を食い、火で焼き尽すであろう。
17 For God has put in their hearts to do what he has in mind, and to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 17:17 神は、御言が成就する時まで、彼らの心の中に、御旨を行い、思いをひとつにし、彼らの支配権を獣に与える思いを持つようにされたからである。

1 After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory. 1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 18:1 この後、わたしは、もうひとりの御使が、大いなる権威を持って、天から降りて来るのを見た。地は彼の栄光によって明るくされた。
2 He cried with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird! 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 18:2 彼は力強い声で叫んで言った、「倒れた、大いなるバビロンは倒れた。そして、それは悪魔の住む所、あらゆる汚れた霊の巣くつ、また、あらゆる汚れた憎むべき鳥の巣くつとなった。
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury." 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 18:3 すべての国民は、彼女の姦淫に対する激しい怒りのぶどう酒を飲み、地の王たちは彼女と姦淫を行い、地上の商人たちは、彼女の極度のぜいたくによって富を得たからである」。
4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don't receive of her plagues, 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 18:4 わたしはまた、もうひとつの声が天から出るのを聞いた、「わたしの民よ。彼女から離れ去って、その罪にあずからないようにし、その災害に巻き込まれないようにせよ。
5 for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 18:5 彼女の罪は積り積って天に達しており、神はその不義の行いを覚えておられる。
6 Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 18:6 彼女がしたとおりに彼女にし返し、そのしわざに応じて二倍に報復をし、彼女が混ぜて入れた杯の中に、その倍の量を、入れてやれ。
7 However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.' 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 18:7 彼女が自ら高ぶり、ぜいたくをほしいままにしたので、それに対して、同じほどの苦しみと悲しみとを味わわせてやれ。彼女は心の中で『わたしは女王の位についている者であって、やもめではないのだから、悲しみを知らない』と言っている。
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong. 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 18:8 それゆえ、さまざまの災害が、死と悲しみとききんとが、一日のうちに彼女を襲い、そして、彼女は火で焼かれてしまう。彼女をさばく主なる神は、力強いかたなのである。
9 The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning, 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 18:9 彼女と姦淫を行い、ぜいたくをほしいままにしていた地の王たちは、彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、彼女のために胸を打って泣き悲しみ、
10 standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.' 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 18:10 彼女の苦しみに恐れをいだき、遠くに立って言うであろう、『ああ、わざわいだ、大いなる都、不落の都、バビロンは、わざわいだ。おまえに対するさばきは、一瞬にしてきた』。
11 The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more; 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 18:11 また、地の商人たちも彼女のために泣き悲しむ。もはや、彼らの商品を買う者が、ひとりもないからである。
12 merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble; 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 18:12 その商品は、金、銀、宝石、真珠、麻布、紫布、絹、緋布、各種の香木、各種の象牙細工、高価な木材、銅、鉄、大理石などの器、
13 and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, and people's bodies and souls. 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. 18:13 肉桂、香料、香、におい油、乳香、ぶどう酒、オリブ油、麦粉、麦、牛、羊、馬、車、奴隷、そして人身などである。
14 The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. 18:14 おまえの心の喜びであったくだものはなくなり、あらゆるはでな、はなやかな物はおまえから消え去った。それらのものはもはや見られない。

17 For inan hour such great riches are made desolate.' Every shipmaster, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away, 17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18:17 これほどの富が、一瞬にして無に帰してしまうとは』。また、すべての船長、航海者、水夫、すべて海で働いている人たちは、遠くに立ち、
18 and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like the great city?' 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 18:18 彼女が焼かれる火の煙を見て、叫んで言う、『これほどの大いなる都は、どこにあろう』。
19 They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!' For in one hour is she made desolate. 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. 18:19 彼らは頭にちりをかぶり、泣き悲しんで叫ぶ、『ああ、わざわいだ、この大いなる都は、わざわいだ。そのおごりによって、海に舟を持つすべての人が富を得ていたのに、この都も一瞬にして無に帰してしまった』。
20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her." 20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. 18:20 天よ、聖徒たちよ、使徒たちよ、預言者たちよ。この都について大いに喜べ。神は、あなたがたのために、この都をさばかれたのである」。
21 A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all. 21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. 18:21 すると、ひとりの力強い御使が、大きなひきうすのような石を持ちあげ、それを海に投げ込んで言った、「大いなる都バビロンは、このように激しく打ち倒され、そして、全く姿を消してしまう。
22 The voice of harpists, minstrels, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman, of whatever craft, will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a mill will be heard no more at all in you. 22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; 18:22 また、おまえの中では、立琴をひく者、歌を歌う者、笛を吹く者、ラッパを吹き鳴らす者の楽の音は全く聞かれず、あらゆる仕事の職人たちも全く姿を消し、また、ひきうすの音も、全く聞かれない。
23 The light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. The voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you; for your merchants were the princes of the earth; for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. 18:23 また、おまえの中では、あかりもともされず、花婿、花嫁の声も聞かれない。というのは、おまえの商人たちは地上で勢力を張る者となり、すべての国民はおまえのまじないでだまされ、
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth." 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. 18:24 また、預言者や聖徒の血、さらに、地上で殺されたすべての者の血が、この都で流されたからである」。

1 After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation, power, and glory belong to our God: 1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 19:1 この後、わたしは天の大群衆が大声で唱えるような声を聞いた、「ハレルヤ、救と栄光と力とは、われらの神のものであり、
2 for true and righteous are his judgments. For he has judged the great prostitute, who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and he has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand." 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 19:2 そのさばきは、真実で正しい。神は、姦淫で地を汚した大淫婦をさばき、神の僕たちの血の報復を彼女になさったからである」。
3 A second said, "Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever." 3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 19:3 再び声があって、「ハレルヤ、彼女が焼かれる火の煙は、世々限りなく立ちのぼる」と言った。
4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying, "Amen! Hallelujah!" 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 19:4 すると、二十四人の長老と四つの生き物とがひれ伏し、御座にいます神を拝して言った、「アァメン、ハレルヤ」。
5 A voice came forth from the throne, saying, "Give praise to our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, the small and the great!" 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 19:5 その時、御座から声が出て言った、「すべての神の僕たちよ、神をおそれる者たちよ。小さき者も大いなる者も、共に、われらの神をさんびせよ」。
6 I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns! 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 19:6 わたしはまた、大群衆の声、多くの水の音、また激しい雷鳴のようなものを聞いた。それはこう言った、「ハレルヤ、全能者にして主なるわれらの神は、王なる支配者であられる。
7 Let us rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let us give the glory to him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready." 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 19:7 わたしたちは喜び楽しみ、神をあがめまつろう。小羊の婚姻の時がきて、花嫁はその用意をしたからである。
8 It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 19:8 彼女は、光り輝く、汚れのない麻布の衣を着ることを許された。この麻布の衣は、聖徒たちの正しい行いである」。
9 He said to me, "Write, 'Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" He said to me, "These are true words of God." 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 19:9 それから、御使はわたしに言った、「書きしるせ。小羊の婚宴に招かれた者は、さいわいである」。またわたしに言った、「これらは、神の真実の言葉である」。
10 I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look! Don't do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy." 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 19:10 そこで、わたしは彼の足もとにひれ伏して、彼を拝そうとした。すると、彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたと同じ僕仲間であり、またイエスのあかしびとであるあなたの兄弟たちと同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい。イエスのあかしは、すなわち預言の霊である」。
11 I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 19:11 またわたしが見ていると、天が開かれ、見よ、そこに白い馬がいた。それに乗っているかたは、「忠実で真実な者」と呼ばれ、義によってさばき、また、戦うかたである。
12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 19:12 その目は燃える炎であり、その頭には多くの冠があった。また、彼以外にはだれも知らない名がその身にしるされていた。
13 He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called "The Word of God." 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 19:13 彼は血染めの衣をまとい、その名は「神の言」と呼ばれた。
14 The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 19:14 そして、天の軍勢が、純白で、汚れのない麻布の衣を着て、白い馬に乗り、彼に従った。
15 Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 19:15 その口からは、諸国民を打つために、鋭いつるぎが出ていた。彼は、鉄のつえをもって諸国民を治め、また、全能者なる神の激しい怒りの酒ぶねを踏む。
16 He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 19:16 その着物にも、そのももにも、「王の王、主の主」という名がしるされていた。
17 I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the sky, "Come! Be gathered together to thegreat supper of God, 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 19:17 また見ていると、ひとりの御使が太陽の中に立っていた。彼は、中空を飛んでいるすべての鳥にむかって、大声で叫んだ、「さあ、神の大宴会に集まってこい。
18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, and small and great." 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19:18 そして、王たちの肉、将軍の肉、勇者の肉、馬の肉、馬に乗っている者の肉、また、すべての自由人と奴隷との肉、小さき者と大いなる者との肉をくらえ」。
19 I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him who sat on the horse, and against his army. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 19:19 なお見ていると、獣と地の王たちと彼らの軍勢とが集まり、馬に乗っているかたとその軍勢とに対して、戦いをいどんだ。
20 The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 19:20 しかし、獣は捕えられ、また、この獣の前でしるしを行って、獣の刻印を受けた者とその像を拝む者とを惑わしたにせ預言者も、獣と共に捕えられた。そして、この両者とも、生きながら、硫黄の燃えている火の池に投げ込まれた。
21 The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came forth out of his mouth. All the birds were filled with their flesh. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. 19:21 それ以外の者たちは、馬に乗っておられるかたの口から出るつるぎで切り殺され、その肉を、すべての鳥が飽きるまで食べた。

1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 20:1 またわたしが見ていると、ひとりの御使が、底知れぬ所のかぎと大きな鎖とを手に持って、天から降りてきた。
2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years, 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 20:2 彼は、悪魔でありサタンである龍、すなわち、かの年を経たへびを捕えて千年の間つなぎおき、
3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time. 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 20:3 そして、底知れぬ所に投げ込み、入口を閉じてその上に封印し、千年の期間が終るまで、諸国民を惑わすことがないようにしておいた。その後、しばらくの間だけ解放されることになっていた。
4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn't worship the beast nor his image, and didn't receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived, and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 20:4 また見ていると、かず多くの座があり、その上に人々がすわっていた。そして、彼らにさばきの権が与えられていた。また、イエスのあかしをし神の言を伝えたために首を切られた人々の霊がそこにおり、また、獣をもその像をも拝まず、その刻印を額や手に受けることをしなかった人々がいた。彼らは生きかえって、キリストと共に千年の間、支配した。
5 The rest of the dead didn't live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 20:5 (それ以外の死人は、千年の期間が終るまで生きかえらなかった。)これが第一の復活である。
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 20:6 この第一の復活にあずかる者は、さいわいな者であり、また聖なる者である。この人たちに対しては、第二の死はなんの力もない。彼らは神とキリストとの祭司となり、キリストと共に千年の間、支配する。

9 They went up over the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God, and devoured them. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 20:9 彼らは地上の広い所に上ってきて、聖徒たちの陣営と愛されていた都とを包囲した。すると、天から火が下ってきて、彼らを焼き尽した。
10 The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. 11 I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. 12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 20:12 また、死んでいた者が、大いなる者も小さき者も共に、御座の前に立っているのが見えた。かずかずの書物が開かれたが、もう一つの書物が開かれた。これはいのちの書であった。死人はそのしわざに応じ、この書物に書かれていることにしたがって、さばかれた。
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 20:13 海はその中にいる死人を出し、死も黄泉もその中にいる死人を出し、そして、おのおのそのしわざに応じて、さばきを受けた。
14 Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 20:14 それから、死も黄泉も火の池に投げ込まれた。この火の池が第二の死である。

1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 21:1 わたしはまた、新しい天と新しい地とを見た。先の天と地とは消え去り、海もなくなってしまった。
2 I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 21:2 また、聖なる都、新しいエルサレムが、夫のために着飾った花嫁のように用意をととのえて、神のもとを出て、天から下って来るのを見た。
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, God's dwelling is with people, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 21:3 また、御座から大きな声が叫ぶのを聞いた、「見よ、神の幕屋が人と共にあり、神が人と共に住み、人は神の民となり、神自ら人と共にいまして、
4 He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away." 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 21:4 人の目から涙を全くぬぐいとって下さる。もはや、死もなく、悲しみも、叫びも、痛みもない。先のものが、すでに過ぎ去ったからである」。
5 He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." He said, "Write, for these words of God are faithful and true." 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 21:5 すると、御座にいますかたが言われた、「見よ、わたしはすべてのものを新たにする」。また言われた、「書きしるせ。これらの言葉は、信ずべきであり、まことである」。
6 He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 21:6 そして、わたしに仰せられた、「事はすでに成った。わたしは、アルパでありオメガである。初めであり終りである。かわいている者には、いのちの水の泉から価なしに飲ませよう。
7 He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 21:7 勝利を得る者は、これらのものを受け継ぐであろう。わたしは彼の神となり、彼はわたしの子となる。
8 But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 21:8 しかし、おくびょうな者、信じない者、忌むべき者、人殺し、姦淫を行う者、まじないをする者、偶像を拝む者、すべて偽りを言う者には、火と硫黄の燃えている池が、彼らの受くべき報いである。これが第二の死である」。
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls, who were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, "Come here. I will show you the wife, the Lamb's bride." 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 21:9 最後の七つの災害が満ちている七つの鉢を持っていた七人の御使のひとりがきて、わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。小羊の妻なる花嫁を見せよう」。
10 He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 21:10 この御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、大きな高い山に連れて行き、聖都エルサレムが、神の栄光のうちに、神のみもとを出て天から下って来るのを見せてくれた。
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, as if it was a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 21:11 その都の輝きは、高価な宝石のようであり、透明な碧玉のようであった。
12 having a great and high wall; having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 21:12 それには大きな、高い城壁があって、十二の門があり、それらの門には、十二の御使がおり、イスラエルの子らの十二部族の名が、それに書いてあった。
13 On the east were three gates; and on the north three gates; and on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 21:13 東に三つの門、北に三つの門、南に三つの門、西に三つの門があった。
14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 21:14 また都の城壁には十二の土台があり、それには小羊の十二使徒の十二の名が書いてあった。
15 He who spoke with me had for a measure, a golden reed, to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. 15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 21:15 わたしに語っていた者は、都とその門と城壁とを測るために、金の測りざおを持っていた。
16 The city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed,Twelve thousand twelve stadia . Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 21:16 都は方形であって、その長さと幅とは同じである。彼がその測りざおで都を測ると、一万二千丁であった。長さと幅と高さとは、いずれも同じである。
17 Its wall isone hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 21:17 また城壁を測ると、百四十四キュビトであった。これは人間の、すなわち、御使の尺度によるのである。
18 The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass. 18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. 21:18 城壁は碧玉で築かれ、都はすきとおったガラスのような純金で造られていた。
19 The foundations of the city's wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire ; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; 19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; and the twelfth, amethyst. 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21:20 第五は縞めのう、第六は赤めのう、第七はかんらん石、第八は緑柱石、第九は黄玉石、第十はひすい、第十一は青玉、第十二は紫水晶であった。
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 21:21 十二の門は十二の真珠であり、門はそれぞれ一つの真珠で造られ、都の大通りは、すきとおったガラスのような純金であった。
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 21:22 わたしは、この都の中には聖所を見なかった。全能者にして主なる神と小羊とが、その聖所なのである。
23 The city has no need for the sun, neither of the moon, to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 21:23 都は、日や月がそれを照す必要がない。神の栄光が都を明るくし、小羊が都のあかりだからである。
24 The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 21:24 諸国民は都の光の中を歩き、地の王たちは、自分たちの光栄をそこに携えて来る。
25 Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there), 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 21:25 都の門は、終日、閉ざされることはない。そこには夜がないからである。
26 and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 21:26 人々は、諸国民の光栄とほまれとをそこに携えて来る。
27 There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. 21:27 しかし、汚れた者や、忌むべきこと及び偽りを行う者は、その中に決してはいれない。はいれる者は、小羊のいのちの書に名をしるされている者だけである。

1 He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, 1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 22:1 御使はまた、水晶のように輝いているいのちの水の川をわたしに見せてくれた。この川は、神と小羊との御座から出て、
2 in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 22:2 都の大通りの中央を流れている。川の両側にはいのちの木があって、十二種の実を結び、その実は毎月みのり、その木の葉は諸国民をいやす。
3 There will be no curse any more. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants serve him. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 22:3 のろわるべきものは、もはや何ひとつない。神と小羊との御座は都の中にあり、その僕たちは彼を礼拝し、
4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 22:4 御顔を仰ぎ見るのである。彼らの額には、御名がしるされている。
5 There will be no night, and they need no lamp light; for the Lord God will illuminate them. They will reign forever and ever. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. 22:5 夜は、もはやない。あかりも太陽の光も、いらない。主なる神が彼らを照し、そして、彼らは世々限りなく支配する。
6 He said to me, "These words are faithful and true. The Lord God of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel to show to his bondservants the things which must happen soon." 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 22:6 彼はまた、わたしに言った、「これらの言葉は信ずべきであり、まことである。預言者たちのたましいの神なる主は、すぐにも起るべきことをその僕たちに示そうとして、御使をつかわされたのである。
7 "Behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 22:7 見よ、わたしは、すぐに来る。この書の預言の言葉を守る者は、さいわいである」。
8 Now I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who had shown me these things. 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 22:8 これらのことを見聞きした者は、このヨハネである。わたしが見聞きした時、それらのことを示してくれた御使の足もとにひれ伏して拝そうとすると、
9 He said to me, "See you don't do it! I am a fellow bondservant with you and with your brothers, the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 22:9 彼は言った、「そのようなことをしてはいけない。わたしは、あなたや、あなたの兄弟である預言者たちや、この書の言葉を守る者たちと、同じ僕仲間である。ただ神だけを拝しなさい」。
10 He said to me, "Don't seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 22:10 またわたしに言った、「この書の預言の言葉を封じてはならない。時が近づいているからである。
11 He who acts unjustly, let him act unjustly still. He who is filthy, let him be filthy still. He who is righteous, let him do righteousness still. He who is holy, let him be holy still." 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 22:11 不義な者はさらに不義を行い、汚れた者はさらに汚れたことを行い、義なる者はさらに義を行い、聖なる者はさらに聖なることを行うままにさせよ」。
12 "Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 22:12 「見よ、わたしはすぐに来る。報いを携えてきて、それぞれのしわざに応じて報いよう。
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 22:13 わたしはアルパであり、オメガである。最初の者であり、最後の者である。初めであり、終りである。
14 Blessed are those whodo his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 22:14 いのちの木にあずかる特権を与えられ、また門をとおって都にはいるために、自分の着物を洗う者たちは、さいわいである。
15 Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 22:15 犬ども、まじないをする者、姦淫を行う者、人殺し、偶像を拝む者、また、偽りを好みかつこれを行う者はみな、外に出されている。
16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the assemblies. I am the root and the offspring of David; the Bright and Morning Star." 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 22:16 わたしイエスは、使をつかわして、諸教会のために、これらのことをあなたがたにあかしした。わたしは、ダビデの若枝また子孫であり、輝く明けの明星である」。
17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" He who hears, let him say, "Come!" He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 22:17 御霊も花嫁も共に言った、「きたりませ」。また、聞く者も「きたりませ」と言いなさい。かわいている者はここに来るがよい。いのちの水がほしい者は、価なしにそれを受けるがよい。
18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues which are written in this book. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 22:18 この書の預言の言葉を聞くすべての人々に対して、わたしは警告する。もしこれに書き加える者があれば、神はその人に、この書に書かれている災害を加えられる。
19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book. 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 22:19 また、もしこの預言の書の言葉をとり除く者があれば、神はその人の受くべき分を、この書に書かれているいのちの木と聖なる都から、とり除かれる。
20 He who testifies these things says, "Yes, I come quickly." Amen! Yes, come, Lord Jesus. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 22:20 これらのことをあかしするかたが仰せになる、「しかり、わたしはすぐに来る」。アァメン、主イエスよ、きたりませ。
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with all the saints. Amen. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 22:21 主イエスの恵みが、一同の者と共にあるように。
