1:1 The word of Yahweh that came to Micah the Morashtite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. 1 The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. 1 ユダの王ヨタム、アハズおよびヒゼキヤの世に、モレシテびとミカが、サマリヤとエルサレムについて示された主の言葉。
1:2 Hear, you peoples, all of you. Listen, O earth, and all that is therein:and let the Lord Yahweh be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple. 2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the LORD from his holy temple. 2 あなたがたすべての民よ、聞け。地とその中に満てる者よ、耳を傾けよ。主なる神はあなたがたにむかって証言し、主はその聖なる宮から証言される。
1:3 For, behold, Yahweh comes forth out of his place, and will come down and tread on the high places of the earth. 3 For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth. 3 見よ、主はそのご座所から出てこられ、下ってきて地の高い所を踏まれる。
1:4 The mountains melt under him, and the valleys split apart,like wax before the fire, like waters that are poured down a steep place. 4 And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. 4 山は彼の下に溶け、谷は裂け、火の前のろうのごとく、坂に流れる水のようだ。
1:5 “All this is for the disobedience of Jacob, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the disobedience of Jacob? Isn’t it Samaria? And what are the high places of Judah? Aren’t they Jerusalem? 5 For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem? 5 これはみなヤコブのとがのゆえ、イスラエルの家の罪のゆえである。ヤコブのとがとは何か、サマリヤではないか。ユダの家の罪とは何か、エルサレムではないか。
1:6 Therefore I will make Samaria like a rubble heap of the field, like places for planting vineyards;and I will pour down its stones into the valley, and I will uncover its foundations. 6 Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof. 6 このゆえにわたしはサマリヤを野の石塚となし、ぶどうを植える所となし、またその石を谷に投げ落し、その基をあらわにする。
1:7 All her idols will be beaten to pieces, and all her temple gifts will be burned with fire, and all her images I will destroy;for of the hire of a prostitute has she gathered them, and to the hire of a prostitute shall they return.” 7 And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot. 7 その彫像はみな砕かれ、その獲た価はみな火で焼かれる。わたしはその偶像をことごとくこわす。これは遊女の価から集めたのだから、遊女の価に帰る。
1:8 For this I will lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will howl like the jackals,and moan like the daughters of owls. 8 Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls. 8 わたしはこれがために嘆き悲しみ、はだしと裸で歩きまわり、山犬のように嘆き、だちょうのように悲しみ鳴く。
1:9 For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah.It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 9 For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 9 サマリヤの傷はいやすことのできないもので、ユダまでひろがり、わが民の門、エルサレムまで及んでいる。
1:10 Don’t tell it in Gath. Don’t weep at all. At Beth Ophrah I have rolled myself in the dust. 10 Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust. 10 ガテに告げるな、泣き叫ぶな。ベテレアフラで、ちりの中にころがれ。
1:11 Pass on, inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame. The inhabitant of Zaanan won’t come out. The wailing of Beth Ezel will take from you his protection. 11 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing. 11 サピルに住む者よ、裸になり、恥をこうむって進み行け。ザアナンに住む者は出てこない。ベテエゼルの嘆きはあなたがたからその跡を断つ。
1:12 For the inhabitant of Maroth waits anxiously for good, because evil has come down from Yahweh to the gate of Jerusalem. 12 For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem. 12 マロテに住む者は気づかわしそうに幸を待つ。災が主から出て、エルサレムの門に臨んだからである。
1:13 Harness the chariot to the swift steed, inhabitant of Lachish. She was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion;For the transgressions of Israel were found in you. 13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee. 13 ラキシに住む者よ、戦車に早馬をつなげ。ラキシはシオンの娘にとって罪の初めであった。イスラエルのとがが、あなたがたのうちに見られたからである。
1:14 Therefore you will give a parting gift to Moresheth Gath. The houses of Achzib will be a deceitful thing to the kings of Israel. 14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel. 14 それゆえ、あなたはモレセテ・ガテに別れの贈り物を与える。アクジブの家々はイスラエルの王たちにとって、人を欺くものとなる。
1:15 I will yet bring to you, inhabitant of Mareshah. He who is the glory of Israel will come to Adullam. 15 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel. 15 マレシャに住む者よ、わたしはまた侵略者をあなたの所に連れて行く。イスラエルの栄光はアドラムに去るであろう。
1:16 Shave your heads, and cut off your hair for the children of your delight.Enlarge your baldness like the vulture; for they have gone into captivity from you! 16 Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee. 16 あなたの喜ぶ子らのために、あなたの髪をそり落せ。そのそった所をはげたかのように大きくせよ。彼らは捕えられてあなたを離れるからである。

2:1 Woe to those who devise iniquity and work evil on their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. 1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. 1 その床の上で不義を計り、悪を行う者はわざわいである。彼らはその手に力あるゆえ、夜が明けるとこれを行う。
2:2 They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house,even a man and his heritage. 2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. 2 彼らは田畑をむさぼってこれを奪い、家をむさぼってこれを取る。彼らは人をしえたげてその家を奪い、人をしえたげてその嗣業を奪う。
2:3 Therefore thus says Yahweh: “Behold, I am planning against these people a disaster,from which you will not remove your necks, neither will you walk haughtily;for it is an evil time. 3 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. 3 それゆえ、主はこう言われる、見よ、わたしはこのやからにむかって災を下そうと計る。あなたがたはその首をこれから、はずすことはできない。また、まっすぐに立って歩くことはできない。これは災の時だからである。
2:4 In that day they will take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, saying,‘We are utterly ruined! My people’s possession is divided up.Indeed he takes it from me and assigns our fields to traitors!’” 4 In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. 4 その日、人々は歌を作ってあなたがたをののしり、悲しみの歌をもって嘆き悲しみ、「われわれはことごとく滅ぼされる、わが民の分は人に与えられる。どうしてこれはわたしから離れるのであろう。われわれの田畑はわれわれを捕えた者の間に分け与えられる」と言う。
2:5 Therefore you will have no one who divides the land by lot in the assembly of Yahweh. 5 Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD. 5 それゆえ、主の会衆のうちにはくじによって測りなわを張る者はひとりもなくなる。
2:6 “Don’t prophesy!” They prophesy.“Don’t prophesy about these things. Disgrace won’t overtake us.” 6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame. 6 彼らは言う、「あなたがたは説教してはならない。そのような事について説教してはならない。そうすればわれわれは恥をこうむることがない」と。
2:7 Shall it be said, O house of Jacob: “Is the Spirit of Yahweh angry? Are these his doings? Don’t my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?” 7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? 7 ヤコブの家よ、そんなことは言えるのだろうか。主は気短な方であろうか。これらは主のみわざなのであろうか。わが言葉は正しく歩む者に、益とならないのであろうか。
2:8 But lately my people have risen up as an enemy. You strip the robe and clothing from those who pass by without a care, returning from battle. 8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. 8 ところが、あなたがたは立ってわが民の敵となり、いくさのことを知らずに、安らかに過ぎゆく者から、平和な者から、上着をはぎ取り、
2:9 You drive the women of my people out from their pleasant houses; from their young children you take away my blessing forever. 9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. 9 わが民の女たちをその楽しい家から追い出し、その子どもから、わが栄えをとこしえに奪う。
2:10 Arise, and depart! For this is not your resting place,because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. 10 立って去れ、これはあなたがたの休み場所ではない。これは汚れのゆえに滅びる。その滅びは悲惨な滅びだ。
2:11 If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies: “I will prophesy to you of wine and of strong drink;” he would be the prophet of this people. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. 11 もし人が風に歩み、偽りを言い、「わたしはぶどう酒と濃き酒とについて、あなたに説教しよう」と言うならば、その人はこの民の説教者となるであろう。
2:12 I will surely assemble, Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah,as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they will swarm with people. 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. 12 ヤコブよ、わたしは必ずあなたをことごとく集め、イスラエルの残れる者を集める。わたしはこれをおりの羊のように、牧場の中の群れのように共におく。これは人の多きによって騒がしくなる。
2:13 He who breaks open the way goes up before them. They break through the gate, and go out. And their king passes on before them,with Yahweh at their head. 13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them. 13 打ち破る者は彼らに先だって登りゆき、彼らは門を打ち破り、これをとおって外に出て行く。彼らの王はその前に進み、主はその先頭に立たれる。

3:1 I said, “Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn’t it for you to know justice? 1 And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? 1 わたしは言った、ヤコブのかしらたちよ、イスラエルの家のつかさたちよ、聞け、公義はあなたがたの知っておるべきことではないか。
3:2 You who hate the good, and love the evil;who tear off their skin, and their flesh from off their bones; 2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; 2 あなたがたは善を憎み、悪を愛し、わが民の身から皮をはぎ、その骨から肉をそぎ、
3:3 who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them,and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot,and as flesh within the caldron. 3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 3 またわが民の肉を食らい、その皮をはぎ、その骨を砕き、これを切りきざんで、なべに入れる食物のようにし、大なべに入れる肉のようにする。
3:4 Then they will cry to Yahweh, but he will not answer them.Yes, he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil.” 4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. 4 こうして彼らが主に呼ばわっても、主はお答えにならない。かえってその時には、み顔を彼らに隠される。彼らのおこないが悪いからである。
3:5 Thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who lead my people astray; for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim, “Peace!” and whoever doesn’t provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him: 5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. 5 わが民を惑わす預言者について主はこう言われる、彼らは食べ物のある時には、「平安」を叫ぶけれども、その口に何も与えない者にむかっては、宣戦を布告する。
3:6 “Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets,and the day will be black over them. 6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 6 それゆえ、あなたがたには夜があっても幻がなく、暗やみがあっても占いがない。太陽はその預言者たちに没し、昼も彼らの上に暗くなる。
3:7 The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded.Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God.” 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 7 先見者は恥をかき、占い師は顔をあからめ、彼らは皆そのくちびるをおおう。神の答がないからである。
3:8 But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience,and to Israel his sin. 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. 8 しかしわたしは主のみたまによって力に満ち、公義と勇気とに満たされ、ヤコブにそのとがを示し、イスラエルにその罪を示すことができる。
3:9 Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel,who abhor justice, and pervert all equity. 9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 9 ヤコブの家のかしらたち、イスラエルの家のつかさたちよ、すなわち公義を憎み、すべての正しい事を曲げる者よ、これを聞け。
3:10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 10 あなたがたは血をもってシオンを建て、不義をもってエルサレムを建てた。
3:11 Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price,and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say,“Isn’t Yahweh in the midst of us? No disaster will come on us.” 11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. 11 そのかしらたちは、まいないをとってさばき、その祭司たちは価をとって教え、その預言者たちは金をとって占う。しかもなお彼らは主に寄り頼んで、「主はわれわれの中におられるではないか、だから災はわれわれに臨むことがない」と言う。
3:12 Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest. 12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. 12 それゆえ、シオンはあなたがたのゆえに田畑となって耕され、エルサレムは石塚となり、宮の山は木のおい茂る高い所となる。

4:1 But in the latter days, it will happen that the mountain of Yahweh’s temple will be established on the top of the mountains,and it will be exalted above the hills; and peoples will stream to it. 1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 1 末の日になって、主の家の山はもろもろの山のかしらとして堅く立てられ、もろもろの峰よりも高くあげられ、もろもろの民はこれに流れくる。
4:2 Many nations will go and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the God of Jacob;and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”For out of Zion will go forth the law, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem; 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 2 多くの国民は来て言う、「さあ、われわれは主の山に登り、ヤコブの神の家に行こう。彼はその道をわれわれに教え、われわれはその道に歩もう」と。律法はシオンから出、主の言葉はエルサレムから出るからである。
4:3 and he will judge between many peoples, and will decide concerning strong nations afar off. They will beat their swords into plowshares,and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation,neither will they learn war any more. 3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 3 彼は多くの民の間をさばき、遠い所まで強い国々のために仲裁される。そこで彼らはつるぎを打ちかえて、すきとし、そのやりを打ちかえて、かまとし、国は国にむかってつるぎをあげず、再び戦いのことを学ばない。
4:4 But they will sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and no one will make them afraid:For the mouth of Yahweh of Armies has spoken. 4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. 4 彼らは皆そのぶどうの木の下に座し、そのいちじくの木の下にいる。彼らを恐れさせる者はない。これは万軍の主がその口で語られたことである。
4:5 Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods; but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever. 5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. 5 すべての民はおのおのその神の名によって歩む。しかしわれわれはわれわれの神、主の名によって、とこしえに歩む。
4:6 “In that day,” says Yahweh, “I will assemble that which is lame, and I will gather that which is driven away,and that which I have afflicted; 6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; 6 主は言われる、その日には、わたしはかの足のなえた者を集め、またかの追いやられた者およびわたしが苦しめた者を集め、
4:7 and I will make that which was lame a remnant,and that which was cast far off a strong nation: and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from then on, even forever.” 7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. 7 その足のなえた者を残れる民とし、遠く追いやられた者を強い国民とする。主はシオンの山で、今よりとこしえに彼らを治められる。
4:8 You, tower of the flock, the hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come, yes, the former dominion will come,the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem. 8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. 8 羊の群れのやぐら、シオンの娘の山よ、以前の主権はあなたに帰ってくる。すなわちエルサレムの娘の国はあなたに帰ってくる。
4:9 Now why do you cry out aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pains have taken hold of you as of a woman in travail? 9 Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counseller perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail. 9 今あなたは何ゆえわめき叫ぶのか、あなたのうちに王がないのか。あなたの相談相手は絶えはて、産婦のように激しい痛みがあなたを捕えたのか。
4:10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you will go forth out of the city,and will dwell in the field, and will come even to Babylon.There you will be rescued. There Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies. 10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies. 10 シオンの娘よ、産婦のように苦しんでうめけ。あなたは今、町を出て野にやどり、バビロンに行かなければならない。その所であなたは救われる。主はその所であなたを敵の手からあがなわれる。
4:11 Now many nations have assembled against you, that say, “Let her be defiled, and let our eye gloat over Zion.” 11 Now also many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. 11 いま多くの国民はあなたに逆らい、集まって言う、「どうかシオンが汚されるように、われわれの目がシオンを見てあざ笑うように」と。
4:12 But they don’t know the thoughts of Yahweh, neither do they understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like the sheaves to the threshing floor. 12 But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. 12 しかし彼らは主の思いを知らず、またその計画を悟らない。すなわち主が麦束を打ち場に集めるように、彼らを集められることを悟らない。
4:13 Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion; for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs brass;and you will beat in pieces many peoples and I will devote their gain to Yahweh,and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth. 13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth. 13 シオンの娘よ、立って打ちこなせ。わたしはあなたの角を鉄となし、あなたのひずめを青銅としよう。あなたは多くの民を打ち砕き、彼らのぶんどり物を主にささげ、彼らの富を全地の主にささげる。

5:1 Now you shall gather yourself in troops, daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us.They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek. 14 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. 1 今あなたは壁でとりまかれている。敵はわれわれを攻め囲み、 つえをもってイスラエルのつかさのほおを撃つ。
5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah,out of you one will come forth to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting. 1 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 2 しかしベツレヘム・エフラタよ、あなたはユダの氏族のうちで小さい者だが、イスラエルを治める者があなたのうちからわたしのために出る。その出るのは昔から、いにしえの日からである。
5:3 Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel. 2 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. 3 それゆえ、産婦の産みおとす時まで、主は彼らを渡しおかれる。その後その兄弟たちの残れる者はイスラエルの子らのもとに帰る。
5:4 He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God:and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth. 3 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. 4 彼は主の力により、その神、主の名の威光により、立ってその群れを養い、彼らを安らかにおらせる。今、彼は大いなる者となって、地の果にまで及ぶからである。
5:5 He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land, and when he marches through our fortresses,then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight leaders of men. 4 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. 5 これは平和である。アッスリヤびとがわれわれの国に来て、われわれの土地を踏むとき、七人の牧者を起し、八人の君を起してこれに当らせる。
5:6 They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian,when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border. 5 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders. 6 彼らはつるぎをもってアッスリヤの地を治め、ぬきみのつるぎをもってニムロデの地を治める。アッスリヤびとがわれわれの地に来て、われわれの境を踏み荒すとき、彼らはアッスリヤびとから、われわれを救う。
5:7 The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass,that don’t wait for man, nor wait for the sons of men. 6 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men. 7 その時ヤコブの残れる者は多くの民の中にあること、人によらず、また人の子らを待たずに主からくだる露のごとく、青草の上に降る夕立ちのようである。
5:8 The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the animals of the forest,like a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces,and there is no one to deliver. 7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. 8 またヤコブの残れる者が国々の中におり、多くの民の中にいること、林の獣の中のししのごとく、羊の群れの中の若いししのようである。それが過ぎるときは踏み、かつ裂いて救う者はない。
5:9 Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries, and let all of your enemies be cut off. 8 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off. 9 あなたの手はもろもろのあだの上にあげられ、あなたの敵はことごとく断たれる。
5:10 “It will happen in that day,” says Yahweh, “That I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you, and will destroy your chariots. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots: 10 主は言われる、その日には、わたしはあなたのうちから馬を絶やし、戦車をこわし、
5:11 I will cut off the cities of your land, and will tear down all your strongholds. 10 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds: 11 あなたの国の町々を絶やし、あなたの城をことごとくくつがえす。
5:12 I will destroy witchcraft from your hand; and you shall have no soothsayers. 11 And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers: 12 またあなたの手から魔術を絶やす。あなたのうちには占い師がないようになる。
5:13 I will cut off your engraved images and your pillars out of your midst; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands. 12 Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands. 13 またあなたのうちから彫像および石の柱を絶やす。あなたは重ねて手で作った物を拝むことはない。
5:14 I will uproot your Asherim out of your midst; and I will destroy your cities. 13 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities. 14 またあなたのうちからアシラ像を抜き倒し、あなたの町々を滅ぼす。
5:15 I will execute vengeance in anger, and wrath on the nations that didn’t listen.” 14 And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard. 15 そしてわたしは怒りと憤りとをもってその聞き従わないもろもろの国民に復讐する。

6:1 Listen now to what Yahweh says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say. 1 Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 1 あなたがたは主の言われることを聞き、立ちあがって、もろもろの山の前に訴えをのべ、もろもろの丘にあなたの声を聞かせよ。
6:2 Hear, you mountains, Yahweh’s controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with his people,and he will contend with Israel. 2 Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD's controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. 2 もろもろの山よ、地の変ることなき基よ、主の言い争いを聞け。主はその民と言い争い、イスラエルと論争されるからである。
6:3 My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me! 3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. 3 「わが民よ、わたしはあなたに何をなしたか、何によってあなたを疲れさせたか、わたしに答えよ。
6:4 For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage.I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. 4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. 4 わたしはエジプトの国からあなたを導きのぼり、奴隷の家からあなたをあがない出し、モーセ、アロンおよびミリアムをつかわして、あなたに先だたせた。
6:5 My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal,that you may know the righteous acts of Yahweh.” 5 O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD. 5 わが民よ、モアブの王バラクがたくらんだ事、ベオルの子バラムが彼に答えた事、シッテムからギルガルに至るまでに起った事どもを思い起せ。そうすれば、あなたは主の正義のみわざを知るであろう」。
6:6 How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? 6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 6 「わたしは何をもって主のみ前に行き、高き神を拝すべきか。燔祭および当歳の子牛をもってそのみ前に行くべきか。
6:7 Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 7 主は数千の雄羊、万流の油を喜ばれるだろうか。わがとがのためにわが長子をささぐべきか。わが魂の罪のためにわが身の子をささぐべきか」。
6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly,to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? 8 人よ、彼はさきによい事のなんであるかをあなたに告げられた。主のあなたに求められることは、ただ公義をおこない、いつくしみを愛し、へりくだってあなたの神と共に歩むことではないか。
6:9 Yahweh’s voice calls to the city, and wisdom sees your name:“Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it. 9 The LORD's voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. 9 主の声が町にむかって呼ばわる―全き知恵はあなたの名を恐れることである―「部族および町の会衆よ、聞け。
6:10 Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah that is accursed? 10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? 10 わたしは悪人の家にある不義の財宝、のろうべき不正な枡を忘れ得ようか。
6:11 Shall I be pure with dishonest scales, and with a bag of deceitful weights? 11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? 11 不正なはかりを用い、偽りのおもしを入れた袋を用いる人をわたしは罪なしとするだろうか。
6:12 Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech. 12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. 12 あなたのうちの富める人は暴虐で満ち、あなたの住民は偽りを言い、その舌は口で欺くことをなす。
6:13 Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins. 13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. 13 それゆえ、わたしはあなたを撃ち、あなたをその罪のために滅ぼすことを始めた。
6:14 You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your humiliation will be in your midst.You will store up, but not save; and that which you save I will give up to the sword. 14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. 14 あなたは食べても、飽くことがなく、あなたの腹はいつもひもじい。あなたは移しても、救うことができない。あなたが救う者を、わたしはつるぎにわたす。
6:15 You will sow, but won’t reap. You will tread the olives, but won’t anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won’t drink the wine. 15 Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. 15 あなたは種をまいても、刈ることがなく、オリブの実を踏んでも、その身に油を塗ることがなく、ぶどうを踏んでも、その酒を飲むことがない。
6:16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab. You walk in their counsels,that I may make you a ruin, and her inhabitants a hissing;And you will bear the reproach of my people.” 16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. 16 あなたはオムリの定めを守り、アハブの家のすべてのわざをおこない、彼らの計りごとに従って歩んだ。これはわたしがあなたを荒し、その住民を笑い物とするためである。あなたがたは民のはずかしめを負わねばならぬ」。

7:1 Misery is mine! Indeed, I am like one who gathers the summer fruits, as gleanings of the vineyard: There is no cluster of grapes to eat.My soul desires to eat the early fig. 1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit. 1 わざわいなるかな、わたしは夏のくだものを集める時のように、ぶどうの収穫の残りを集める時のようになった。食らうべきぶどうはなく、わが心の好む初なりのいちじくもない。
7:2 The godly man has perished out of the earth, and there is no one upright among men.They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net. 2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. 2 神を敬う人は地に絶え、人のうちに正しい者はない。みな血を流そうと待ち伏せし、おのおの網をもってその兄弟を捕える。
7:3 Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe; and the powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul.Thus they conspire together. 3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. 3 両手は悪い事をしようと努めてやまない。つかさと裁判官はまいないを求め、大いなる人はその心の悪い欲望を言いあらわし、こうして彼らはその悪を仕組む。
7:4 The best of them is like a brier. The most upright is worse than a thorn hedge.The day of your watchmen, even your visitation, has come;now is the time of their confusion. 4 The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity. 4 彼らの最もよい者もいばらのごとく、最も正しい者もいばらのいけがきのようだ。彼らの見張びとの日、すなわち彼らの刑罰の日が来る。いまや彼らの混乱が近い。
7:5 Don’t trust in a neighbor. Don’t put confidence in a friend.With the woman lying in your embrace, be careful of the words of your mouth! 5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 5 あなたがたは隣り人を信じてはならない。友人をたのんではならない。あなたのふところに寝る者にも、あなたの口の戸を守れ。
7:6 For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;a man’s enemies are the men of his own house. 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. 6 むすこは父をいやしめ、娘はその母にそむき、嫁はそのしゅうとめにそむく。人の敵はその家の者である。
7:7 But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation.My God will hear me. 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. 7 しかし、わたしは主を仰ぎ見、わが救の神を待つ。わが神はわたしの願いを聞かれる。
7:8 Don’t rejoice against me, my enemy. When I fall, I will arise.When I sit in darkness, Yahweh will be a light to me. 8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. 8 わが敵よ、わたしについて喜ぶな。たといわたしが倒れるとも起きあがる。たといわたしが暗やみの中にすわるとも、主はわが光となられる。
7:9 I will bear the indignation of Yahweh, because I have sinned against him,until he pleads my case, and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light.I will see his righteousness. 9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. 9 主はわが訴えを取りあげ、わたしのためにさばきを行われるまで、わたしは主の怒りを負わなければならない。主に対して罪を犯したからである。主はわたしを光に導き出してくださる。わたしは主の正義を見るであろう。
7:10 Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me,where is Yahweh your God? Then my enemy will see me and will cover her shame.Now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets. 10 Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. 10 その時「あなたの神、主はどこにいるか」とわたしに言ったわが敵は、これを見て恥をこうむり、わが目は彼を見てあざ笑う。彼は街路の泥のように踏みつけられる。
7:11 A day to build your walls— In that day, he will extend your boundary. 11 In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree be far removed. 11 あなたの城壁を築く日が来る。その日には国境が遠く広がる。
7:12 In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea,and mountain to mountain. 12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. 12 その日にはアッスリヤからエジプトまで、エジプトからユフラテ川まで、海から海まで、山から山まで、人々はあなたに来る。
7:13 Yet the land will be desolate because of those who dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings. 13 Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings. 13 しかしかの地はその住民のゆえに、そのおこないの実によって荒れはてる。
7:14 Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest,in the midst of fertile pasture land, let them feed; in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. 14 Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. 14 どうか、あなたのつえをもってあなたの民、すなわち園の中の林にひとりおるあなたの嗣業の羊を牧し、いにしえの日のようにバシャンとギレアデで、彼らを養ってください。
7:15 “As in the days of your coming forth out of the land of Egypt, I will show them marvelous things.” 15 According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things. 15 あなたがエジプトの国を出た時のように、わたしはもろもろの不思議な事を彼らに示す。
7:16 The nations will see and be ashamed of all their might. They will lay their hand on their mouth.Their ears will be deaf. 16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. 16 国々の民は見て、そのすべての力を恥じ、その手を口にあて、その耳は聞えぬ耳となる。
7:17 They will lick the dust like a serpent. Like crawling things of the earth they shall come trembling out of their dens.They will come with fear to Yahweh our God, and will be afraid because of you. 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee. 17 彼らはへびのように、地に這うもののようにちりをなめ、震えながらその城から出、おののきつつ、われわれの神、主に近づいてきて、あなたのために恐れる。
7:18 Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever,because he delights in loving kindness. 18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 18 だれかあなたのように不義をゆるし、その嗣業の残れる者のためにとがを見過ごされる神があろうか。神はいつくしみを喜ばれるので、その怒りをながく保たず、
7:19 He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot;and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 19 再びわれわれをあわれみ、われわれの不義を足で踏みつけられる。あなたはわれわれのもろもろの罪を海の深みに投げ入れ、
7:20 You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham,as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old. 20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. 20 昔からわれわれの先祖たちに誓われたように、真実をヤコブに示し、いつくしみをアブラハムに示される。
