1 The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; 1:1 神の子イエス・キリストの福音のはじめ。
2 As it is written in the prophets, "Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you. 2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 1:2 預言者イザヤの書に、「見よ、わたしは使をあなたの先につかわし、あなたの道を整えさせるであろう。

7 He preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen. 7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 1:7 彼は宣べ伝えて言った、「わたしよりも力のあるかたが、あとからおいでになる。わたしはかがんで、そのくつのひもを解く値うちもない。

13 He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. 17 Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men." 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. 1:17 イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしについてきなさい。あなたがたを、人間をとる漁師にしてあげよう」。
18 Immediately they left their nets, and followed him. 18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. 1:18 すると、彼らはすぐに網を捨てて、イエスに従った。
19 Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. 1:19 また少し進んで行かれると、ゼベダイの子ヤコブとその兄弟ヨハネとが、舟の中で網を繕っているのをごらんになった。
20 Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him. 20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him. 1:20 そこで、すぐ彼らをお招きになると、父ゼベダイを雇人たちと一緒に舟において、イエスのあとについて行った。
21 They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught. 21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. 1:21 それから、彼らはカペナウムに行った。そして安息日にすぐ、イエスは会堂にはいって教えられた。
22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes. 22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. 1:22 人々は、その教に驚いた。律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。

24 saying, "Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!" 24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 1:24 「ナザレのイエスよ、あなたはわたしたちとなんの係わりがあるのです。わたしたちを滅ぼしにこられたのですか。あなたがどなたであるか、わかっています。神の聖者です」。
25 Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him!" 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. 1:25 イエスはこれをしかって、「黙れ、この人から出て行け」と言われた。
26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. 1:26 すると、けがれた霊は彼をひきつけさせ、大声をあげて、その人から出て行った。
27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!" 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. 1:27 人々はみな驚きのあまり、互に論じて言った、「これは、いったい何事か。権威ある新しい教だ。けがれた霊にさえ命じられると、彼らは従うのだ」。
28 The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area. 28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. 1:28 こうしてイエスのうわさは、たちまちガリラヤの全地方、いたる所にひろまった。
29 Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 1:29 それから会堂を出るとすぐ、ヤコブとヨハネとを連れて、シモンとアンデレとの家にはいって行かれた。
30 Now Simon's wife's mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. 1:30 ところが、シモンのしゅうとめが熱病で床についていたので、人々はさっそく、そのことをイエスに知らせた。
31 He came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them. 31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. 1:31 イエスは近寄り、その手をとって起されると、熱が引き、女は彼らをもてなした。
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons. 32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. 1:32 夕暮になり日が沈むと、人々は病人や悪霊につかれた者をみな、イエスのところに連れてきた。
33 All the city was gathered together at the door. 33 And all the city was gathered together at the door. 1:33 こうして、町中の者が戸口に集まった。
34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He didn't allow the demons to speak, because they knew him. 34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. 1:34 イエスは、さまざまの病をわずらっている多くの人々をいやし、また多くの悪霊を追い出された。また、悪霊どもに、物言うことをお許しにならなかった。彼らがイエスを知っていたからである。
35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. 35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. 1:35 朝はやく、夜の明けるよほど前に、イエスは起きて寂しい所へ出て行き、そこで祈っておられた。
36 Simon and those who were with him followed after him; 36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. 1:36 すると、シモンとその仲間とが、あとを追ってきた。
37 and they found him, and told him, "Everyone is looking for you." 37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. 1:37 そしてイエスを見つけて、「みんなが、あなたを捜しています」と言った。
38 He said to them, "Let's go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason." 38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 1:38 イエスは彼らに言われた、「ほかの、附近の町々にみんなで行って、そこでも教を宣べ伝えよう。わたしはこのために出てきたのだから」。
39 He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. 1:39 そして、ガリラヤ全地を巡りあるいて、諸会堂で教を宣べ伝え、また悪霊を追い出された。
40 A leper came to him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, "If you want to, you can make me clean." 40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 1:40 ひとりのらい病人が、イエスのところに願いにきて、ひざまずいて言った、「みこころでしたら、きよめていただけるのですが」。
41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I want to. Be made clean." 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 1:41 イエスは深くあわれみ、手を伸ばして彼にさわり、「そうしてあげよう、きよくなれ」と言われた。
42 When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean. 42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 1:42 すると、らい病が直ちに去って、その人はきよくなった。
43 He strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out, 43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; 1:43 イエスは彼をきびしく戒めて、すぐにそこを去らせ、こう言い聞かせられた、
44 and said to him, "See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." 44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 1:44 「何も人に話さないように、注意しなさい。ただ行って、自分のからだを祭司に見せ、それから、モーセが命じた物をあなたのきよめのためにささげて、人々に証明しなさい」。
45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere. 45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter. 1:45 しかし、彼は出て行って、自分の身に起ったことを盛んに語り、また言いひろめはじめたので、イエスはもはや表立っては町に、はいることができなくなり、外の寂しい所にとどまっておられた。しかし、人々は方々から、イエスのところにぞくぞくと集まってきた。

1 When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house. 1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2:1 幾日かたって、イエスがまたカペナウムにお帰りになったとき、家におられるといううわさが立ったので、
2 Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 2:2 多くの人々が集まってきて、もはや戸口のあたりまでも、すきまが無いほどになった。そして、イエスは御言を彼らに語っておられた。
3 Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 2:3 すると、人々がひとりの中風の者を四人の人に運ばせて、イエスのところに連れてきた。
4 When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 2:4 ところが、群衆のために近寄ることができないので、イエスのおられるあたりの屋根をはぎ、穴をあけて、中風の者を寝かせたまま、床をつりおろした。
5 Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. 2:5 イエスは彼らの信仰を見て、中風の者に、「子よ、あなたの罪はゆるされた」と言われた。
6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 2:6 ところが、そこに幾人かの律法学者がすわっていて、心の中で論じた、
7 "Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" 7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? 2:7 「この人は、なぜあんなことを言うのか。それは神をけがすことだ。神ひとりのほかに、だれが罪をゆるすことができるか」。
8 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you reason these things in your hearts? 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? 2:8 イエスは、彼らが内心このように論じているのを、自分の心ですぐ見ぬいて、「なぜ、あなたがたは心の中でそんなことを論じているのか。
9 Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?' 9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 2:9 中風の者に、あなたの罪はゆるされた、と言うのと、起きよ、床を取りあげて歩け、と言うのと、どちらがたやすいか。
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" —he said to the paralytic— 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 2:10 しかし、人の子は地上で罪をゆるす権威をもっていることが、あなたがたにわかるために」と彼らに言い、中風の者にむかって、
11 "I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house." 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 2:11 「あなたに命じる。起きよ、床を取りあげて家に帰れ」と言われた。
12 He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!" 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. 2:12 すると彼は起きあがり、すぐに床を取りあげて、みんなの前を出て行ったので、一同は大いに驚き、神をあがめて、「こんな事は、まだ一度も見たことがない」と言った。
13 He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them. 13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. 2:13 イエスはまた海べに出て行かれると、多くの人々がみもとに集まってきたので、彼らを教えられた。
14 As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he arose and followed him. 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. 2:14 また途中で、アルパヨの子レビが収税所にすわっているのをごらんになって、「わたしに従ってきなさい」と言われた。すると彼は立ちあがって、イエスに従った。
15 It happened, that he was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him. 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 2:15 それから彼の家で、食事の席についておられたときのことである。多くの取税人や罪人たちも、イエスや弟子たちと共にその席に着いていた。こんな人たちが大ぜいいて、イエスに従ってきたのである。
16 The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, "Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?" 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 2:16 パリサイ派の律法学者たちは、イエスが罪人や取税人たちと食事を共にしておられるのを見て、弟子たちに言った、「なぜ、彼は取税人や罪人などと食事を共にするのか」。
17 When Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 2:17 イエスはこれを聞いて言われた、「丈夫な人には医者はいらない。いるのは病人である。わたしがきたのは、義人を招くためではなく、罪人を招くためである」。
18 John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, and they came and asked him, "Why do John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don't fast?" 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? 2:18 ヨハネの弟子とパリサイ人とは、断食をしていた。そこで人々がきて、イエスに言った、「ヨハネの弟子たちとパリサイ人の弟子たちとが断食をしているのに、あなたの弟子たちは、なぜ断食をしないのですか」。
19 Jesus said to them, "Can the groomsmen fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can't fast. 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 2:19 するとイエスは言われた、「婚礼の客は、花婿が一緒にいるのに、断食ができるであろうか。花婿と一緒にいる間は、断食はできない。
20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day. 20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. 2:20 しかし、花婿が奪い去られる日が来る。その日には断食をするであろう。
21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made. 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. 2:21 だれも、真新しい布ぎれを、古い着物に縫いつけはしない。もしそうすれば、新しいつぎは古い着物を引き破り、そして、破れがもっとひどくなる。
22 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins." 22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. 2:22 まただれも、新しいぶどう酒を古い皮袋に入れはしない。もしそうすれば、ぶどう酒は皮袋をはり裂き、そして、ぶどう酒も皮袋もむだになってしまう。〔だから、新しいぶどう酒は新しい皮袋に入れるべきである〕」。
23 It happened that he was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields, and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 2:23 ある安息日に、イエスは麦畑の中をとおって行かれた。そのとき弟子たちが、歩きながら穂をつみはじめた。
24 The Pharisees said to him, "Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?" 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 2:24 すると、パリサイ人たちがイエスに言った、「いったい、彼らはなぜ、安息日にしてはならぬことをするのですか」。
25 He said to them, "Did you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry—he, and those who were with him? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 2:25 そこで彼らに言われた、「あなたがたは、ダビデとその供の者たちとが食物がなくて飢えたとき、ダビデが何をしたか、まだ読んだことがないのか。

4 He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?" But they held their peace. 3:4 人々にむかって、「安息日に善を行うのと悪を行うのと、命を救うのと殺すのと、どちらがよいか」と言われた。彼らは黙っていた。
5 When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him. 8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. 3:8 エルサレムから、イドマヤから、更にヨルダンの向こうから、ツロ、シドンのあたりからも、おびただしい群衆が、そのなさっていることを聞いて、みもとにきた。
9 He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn't press on him. 9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. 3:9 イエスは群衆が自分に押し迫るのを避けるために、小舟を用意しておけと、弟子たちに命じられた。
10 For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him. 10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. 3:10 それは、多くの人をいやされたので、病苦に悩む者は皆イエスにさわろうとして、押し寄せてきたからである。
11 The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, "You are the Son of God!" 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. 3:11 また、けがれた霊どもはイエスを見るごとに、みまえにひれ伏し、叫んで、「あなたこそ神の子です」と言った。

15 and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons: 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 3:15 また悪霊を追い出す権威を持たせるためであった。

19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. He came into a house. 19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. 3:19 それからイスカリオテのユダ。このユダがイエスを裏切ったのである。イエスが家にはいられると、
20 The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 3:20 群衆がまた集まってきたので、一同は食事をする暇もないほどであった。
21 When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him: for they said, "He is insane." 21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. 3:21 身内の者たちはこの事を聞いて、イエスを取押えに出てきた。気が狂ったと思ったからである。
22 The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons." 22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 3:22 また、エルサレムから下ってきた律法学者たちも、「彼はベルゼブルにとりつかれている」と言い、「悪霊どものかしらによって、悪霊どもを追い出しているのだ」とも言った。
23 He summoned them, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan? 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 3:23 そこでイエスは彼らを呼び寄せ、譬をもって言われた、「どうして、サタンがサタンを追い出すことができようか。
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 3:24 もし国が内部で分れ争うなら、その国は立ち行かない。
25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 3:25 また、もし家が内わで分れ争うなら、その家は立ち行かないであろう。
26 If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can't stand, but has an end. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 3:26 もしサタンが内部で対立し分争するなら、彼は立ち行けず、滅んでしまう。
27 But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder, unless he first binds the strong man; and then he will plunder his house. 27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 3:27 だれでも、まず強い人を縛りあげなければ、その人の家に押し入って家財を奪い取ることはできない。縛ってからはじめて、その家を略奪することができる。
28 Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme; 28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 3:28 よく言い聞かせておくが、人の子らには、その犯すすべての罪も神をけがす言葉も、ゆるされる。
29 but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. 3:29 しかし、聖霊をけがす者は、いつまでもゆるされず、永遠の罪に定められる」。
30 —because they said, "He has an unclean spirit." 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. 3:30 そう言われたのは、彼らが「イエスはけがれた霊につかれている」と言っていたからである。
31 His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him. 31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 3:31 さて、イエスの母と兄弟たちとがきて、外に立ち、人をやってイエスを呼ばせた。
32 A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, "Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you." 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 3:32 ときに、群衆はイエスを囲んですわっていたが、「ごらんなさい。あなたの母上と兄弟、姉妹たちが、外であなたを尋ねておられます」と言った。
33 He answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 3:33 すると、イエスは彼らに答えて言われた、「わたしの母、わたしの兄弟とは、だれのことか」。
34 Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers! 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 3:34 そして、自分をとりかこんで、すわっている人々を見まわして、言われた、「ごらんなさい、ここにわたしの母、わたしの兄弟がいる。
35 For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother." 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. 3:35 神のみこころを行う者はだれでも、わたしの兄弟、また姉妹、また母なのである」。

1 Again he began to teach by the seaside. A great multitude was gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat in the sea, and sat down. All the multitude were on the land by the sea. 1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 4:1 イエスはまたも、海べで教えはじめられた。おびただしい群衆がみもとに集まったので、イエスは舟に乗ってすわったまま、海上におられ、群衆はみな海に沿って陸地にいた。
2 He taught them many things in parables, and told them in his teaching, 2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 4:2 イエスは譬で多くの事を教えられたが、その教の中で彼らにこう言われた、
3 "Listen! Behold, the farmer went out to sow, 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4:3 「聞きなさい、種まきが種をまきに出て行った。
4 and it happened, as he sowed, some seed fell by the road, and the birds came and devoured it. 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 4:4 まいているうちに、道ばたに落ちた種があった。すると、鳥がきて食べてしまった。
5 Others fell on the rocky ground, where it had little soil, and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of soil. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 4:5 ほかの種は土の薄い石地に落ちた。そこは土が深くないので、すぐ芽を出したが、
6 When the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 4:6 日が上ると焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。
7 Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 4:7 ほかの種はいばらの中に落ちた。すると、いばらが伸びて、ふさいでしまったので、実を結ばなかった。
8 Others fell into the good ground, and yielded fruit, growing up and increasing. Some brought forth thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times as much." 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 4:8 ほかの種は良い地に落ちた。そしてはえて、育って、ますます実を結び、三十倍、六十倍、百倍にもなった」。
9 He said, "Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear." 9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 4:9 そして言われた、「聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」。
10 When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 4:10 イエスがひとりになられた時、そばにいた者たちが、十二弟子と共に、これらの譬について尋ねた。
11 He said to them, "To you is given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables, 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 4:11 そこでイエスは言われた、「あなたがたには神の国の奥義が授けられているが、ほかの者たちには、すべてが譬で語られる。
12 that 'seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.'" 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 4:12 それは『彼らは見るには見るが、認めず、聞くには聞くが、悟らず、悔い改めてゆるされることがない』ためである」。
13 He said to them, "Don't you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables? 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 4:13 また彼らに言われた、「あなたがたはこの譬がわからないのか。それでは、どうしてすべての譬がわかるだろうか。
14 The farmer sows the word. 14 The sower soweth the word. 4:14 種まきは御言をまくのである。
15 The ones by the road are the ones where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan comes, and takes away the word which has been sown in them. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 4:15 道ばたに御言がまかれたとは、こういう人たちのことである。すなわち、御言を聞くと、すぐにサタンがきて、彼らの中にまかれた御言を、奪って行くのである。
16 These in like manner are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 4:16 同じように、石地にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞くと、すぐに喜んで受けるが、
17 They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble. 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 4:17 自分の中に根がないので、しばらく続くだけである。そののち、御言のために困難や迫害が起ってくると、すぐつまずいてしまう。
18 Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word, 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 4:18 また、いばらの中にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞くが、
19 and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 4:19 世の心づかいと、富の惑わしと、その他いろいろな欲とがはいってきて、御言をふさぐので、実を結ばなくなる。
20 Those which were sown on the good ground are those who hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, some thirty times, some sixty times, and some one hundred times." 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. 4:20 また、良い地にまかれたものとは、こういう人たちのことである。御言を聞いて受けいれ、三十倍、六十倍、百倍の実を結ぶのである」。
21 He said to them, "Is the lamp brought to be put under abasket or under a bed? Isn't it put on a stand? 21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 4:21 また彼らに言われた、「ますの下や寝台の下に置くために、あかりを持ってくることがあろうか。燭台の上に置くためではないか。
22 For there is nothing hidden, except that it should be made known; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light. 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 4:22 なんでも、隠されているもので、現れないものはなく、秘密にされているもので、明るみに出ないものはない。
23 If any man has ears to hear, let him hear." 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 4:23 聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」。
24 He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you who hear. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 4:24 また彼らに言われた、「聞くことがらに注意しなさい。あなたがたの量るそのはかりで、自分にも量り与えられ、その上になお増し加えられるであろう。
25 For whoever has, to him will more be given, and he who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away from him." 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. 4:25 だれでも、持っている人は更に与えられ、持っていない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられるであろう」。
26 He said, "The Kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed on the earth, 26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 4:26 また言われた、「神の国は、ある人が地に種をまくようなものである。
27 and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he doesn't know how. 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 4:27 夜昼、寝起きしている間に、種は芽を出して育って行くが、どうしてそうなるのか、その人は知らない。
28 For the earth bears fruit: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 4:28 地はおのずから実を結ばせるもので、初めに芽、つぎに穂、つぎに穂の中に豊かな実ができる。
29 But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts forth the sickle, because the harvest has come." 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. 4:29 実がいると、すぐにかまを入れる。刈入れ時がきたからである」。
30 He said, "How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? 30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 4:30 また言われた、「神の国を何に比べようか。また、どんな譬で言いあらわそうか。
31 It's like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 4:31 それは一粒のからし種のようなものである。地にまかれる時には、地上のどんな種よりも小さいが、
32 yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow." 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. 4:32 まかれると、成長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、その陰に空の鳥が宿るほどになる」。
33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. 33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. 4:33 イエスはこのような多くの譬で、人々の聞く力にしたがって、御言を語られた。
34 Without a parable he didn't speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything. 34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. 4:34 譬によらないでは語られなかったが、自分の弟子たちには、ひそかにすべてのことを解き明かされた。
35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let's go over to the other side." 35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 4:35 さてその日、夕方になると、イエスは弟子たちに、「向こう岸へ渡ろう」と言われた。
36 Leaving the multitude, they took him with them, even as he was, in the boat. Other small boats were also with him. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 4:36 そこで、彼らは群衆をあとに残し、イエスが舟に乗っておられるまま、乗り出した。ほかの舟も一緒に行った。
37 A big wind storm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 4:37 すると、激しい突風が起り、波が舟の中に打ち込んできて、舟に満ちそうになった。
38 He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, "Teacher, don't you care that we are dying?" 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 4:38 ところがイエス自身は、舳の方でまくらをして、眠っておられた。そこで、弟子たちはイエスをおこして、「先生、わたしどもがおぼれ死んでも、おかまいにならないのですか」と言った。
39 He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 4:39 イエスは起きあがって風をしかり、海にむかって、「静まれ、黙れ」と言われると、風はやんで、大なぎになった。
40 He said to them, "Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?" 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 4:40 イエスは彼らに言われた、「なぜ、そんなにこわがるのか。どうして信仰がないのか」。
41 They were greatly afraid, and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? 4:41 彼らは恐れおののいて、互に言った、「いったい、この方はだれだろう。風も海も従わせるとは」。

2 When he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 5:2 それから、イエスが舟からあがられるとすぐに、けがれた霊につかれた人が墓場から出てきて、イエスに出会った。
3 He lived in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 5:3 この人は墓場をすみかとしており、もはやだれも、鎖でさえも彼をつなぎとめて置けなかった。
4 because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. Nobody had the strength to tame him. 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5:4 彼はたびたび足かせや鎖でつながれたが、鎖を引きちぎり、足かせを砕くので、だれも彼を押えつけることができなかったからである。
5 Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 5:5 そして、夜昼たえまなく墓場や山で叫びつづけて、石で自分のからだを傷つけていた。
6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 5:6 ところが、この人がイエスを遠くから見て、走り寄って拝し、
7 and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don't torment me." 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. 5:7 大声で叫んで言った、「いと高き神の子イエスよ、あなたはわたしとなんの係わりがあるのです。神に誓ってお願いします。どうぞ、わたしを苦しめないでください」。
8 For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!" 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 5:8 それは、イエスが、「けがれた霊よ、この人から出て行け」と言われたからである。
9 He asked him, "What is your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many." 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 5:9 また彼に、「なんという名前か」と尋ねられると、「レギオンと言います。大ぜいなのですから」と答えた。
10 He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 5:10 そして、自分たちをこの土地から追い出さないようにと、しきりに願いつづけた。
11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 5:11 さて、そこの山の中腹に、豚の大群が飼ってあった。
12 All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them." 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 5:12 霊はイエスに願って言った、「わたしどもを、豚にはいらせてください。その中へ送ってください」。
13 At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 5:13 イエスがお許しになったので、けがれた霊どもは出て行って、豚の中へはいり込んだ。すると、その群れは二千匹ばかりであったが、がけから海へなだれを打って駆け下り、海の中でおぼれ死んでしまった。
14 Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 5:14 豚を飼う者たちが逃げ出して、町や村にふれまわったので、人々は何事が起ったのかと見にきた。
15 They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 5:15 そして、イエスのところにきて、悪霊につかれた人が着物を着て、正気になってすわっており、それがレギオンを宿していた者であるのを見て、恐れた。
16 Those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 5:16 また、それを見た人たちは、悪霊につかれた人の身に起った事と豚のこととを、彼らに話して聞かせた。
17 They began to beg him to depart from their region. 17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. 5:17 そこで、人々はイエスに、この地方から出て行っていただきたいと、頼みはじめた。
18 As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him. 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 5:18 イエスが舟に乗ろうとされると、悪霊につかれていた人がお供をしたいと願い出た。
19 He didn't allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you." 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 5:19 しかし、イエスはお許しにならないで、彼に言われた、「あなたの家族のもとに帰って、主がどんなに大きなことをしてくださったか、またどんなにあわれんでくださったか、それを知らせなさい」。
20 He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. 5:20 そこで、彼は立ち去り、そして自分にイエスがしてくださったことを、ことごとくデカポリスの地方に言いひろめ出したので、人々はみな驚き怪しんだ。
21 When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea. 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 5:21 イエスがまた舟で向こう岸へ渡られると、大ぜいの群衆がみもとに集まってきた。イエスは海べにおられた。
22 Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet, 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 5:22 そこへ、会堂司のひとりであるヤイロという者がきて、イエスを見かけるとその足もとにひれ伏し、
23 and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live." 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 5:23 しきりに願って言った、「わたしの幼い娘が死にかかっています。どうぞ、その子がなおって助かりますように、おいでになって、手をおいてやってください」。
24 He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 5:24 そこで、イエスは彼と一緒に出かけられた。大ぜいの群衆もイエスに押し迫りながら、ついて行った。
25 A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 5:25 さてここに、十二年間も長血をわずらっている女がいた。
26 and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 5:26 多くの医者にかかって、さんざん苦しめられ、その持ち物をみな費してしまったが、なんのかいもないばかりか、かえってますます悪くなる一方であった。
27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes. 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 5:27 この女がイエスのことを聞いて、群衆の中にまぎれ込み、うしろから、み衣にさわった。
28 For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well." 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 5:28 それは、せめて、み衣にでもさわれば、なおしていただけるだろうと、思っていたからである。
29 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 5:29 すると、血の元がすぐにかわき、女は病気がなおったことを、その身に感じた。
30 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 5:30 イエスはすぐ、自分の内から力が出て行ったことに気づかれて、群衆の中で振り向き、「わたしの着物にさわったのはだれか」と言われた。
31 His disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'" 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 5:31 そこで弟子たちが言った、「ごらんのとおり、群衆があなたに押し迫っていますのに、だれがさわったかと、おっしゃるのですか」。
32 He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 5:32 しかし、イエスはさわった者を見つけようとして、見まわしておられた。
33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 5:33 その女は自分の身に起ったことを知って、恐れおののきながら進み出て、みまえにひれ伏して、すべてありのままを申し上げた。
34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease." 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. 5:34 イエスはその女に言われた、「娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心して行きなさい。すっかりなおって、達者でいなさい」。
35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?" 35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 5:35 イエスが、まだ話しておられるうちに、会堂司の家から人々がきて言った、「あなたの娘はなくなりました。このうえ、先生を煩わすには及びますまい」。
36 But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Don't be afraid, only believe." 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 5:36 イエスはその話している言葉を聞き流して、会堂司に言われた、「恐れることはない。ただ信じなさい」。
37 He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 5:37 そしてペテロ、ヤコブ、ヤコブの兄弟ヨハネのほかは、ついて来ることを、だれにもお許しにならなかった。
38 He came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 5:38 彼らが会堂司の家に着くと、イエスは人々が大声で泣いたり、叫んだりして、騒いでいるのをごらんになり、
39 When he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep." 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 5:39 内にはいって、彼らに言われた、「なぜ泣き騒いでいるのか。子供は死んだのではない。眠っているだけである」。
40 They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 5:40 人々はイエスをあざ笑った。しかし、イエスはみんなの者を外に出し、子供の父母と供の者たちだけを連れて、子供のいる所にはいって行かれた。
41 Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha cumi!" which means, being interpreted, "Girl, I tell you, get up!" 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 5:41 そして子供の手を取って、「タリタ、クミ」と言われた。それは、「少女よ、さあ、起きなさい」という意味である。
42 Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 5:42 すると、少女はすぐに起き上がって、歩き出した。十二歳にもなっていたからである。彼らはたちまち非常な驚きに打たれた。
43 He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat. 43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat. 5:43 イエスは、だれにもこの事を知らすなと、きびしく彼らに命じ、また、少女に食物を与えるようにと言われた。

1 He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his disciples followed him. 1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. 6:1 イエスはそこを去って、郷里に行かれたが、弟子たちも従って行った。
2 When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, "Where did this man get these things?" and, "What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands? 2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? 6:2 そして、安息日になったので、会堂で教えはじめられた。それを聞いた多くの人々は、驚いて言った、「この人は、これらのことをどこで習ってきたのか。また、この人の授かった知恵はどうだろう。このような力あるわざがその手で行われているのは、どうしてか。
3 Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" They were offended at him. 3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 6:3 この人は大工ではないか。マリヤのむすこで、ヤコブ、ヨセ、ユダ、シモンの兄弟ではないか。またその姉妹たちも、ここにわたしたちと一緒にいるではないか」。こうして彼らはイエスにつまずいた。
4 Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house." 4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. 6:4 イエスは言われた、「預言者は、自分の郷里、親族、家以外では、どこででも敬われないことはない」。
5 He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them. 5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. 6:5 そして、そこでは力あるわざを一つもすることができず、ただ少数の病人に手をおいていやされただけであった。
6 He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching. 6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. 6:6 そして、彼らの不信仰を驚き怪しまれた。それからイエスは、附近の村々を巡りあるいて教えられた。
7 He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; 6:7 また十二弟子を呼び寄せ、ふたりずつつかわすことにして、彼らにけがれた霊を制する権威を与え、
8 He commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse, 8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: 6:8 また旅のために、つえ一本のほかには何も持たないように、パンも、袋も、帯の中に銭も持たず、
9 but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics. 9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. 6:9 ただわらじをはくだけで、下着も二枚は着ないように命じられた。
10 He said to them, "Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there. 10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. 6:10 そして彼らに言われた、「どこへ行っても、家にはいったなら、その土地を去るまでは、そこにとどまっていなさい。
11 Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!" 11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. 6:11 また、あなたがたを迎えず、あなたがたの話を聞きもしない所があったなら、そこから出て行くとき、彼らに対する抗議のしるしに、足の裏のちりを払い落しなさい」。
12 They went out and preached that people should repent. 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 6:12 そこで、彼らは出て行って、悔改めを宣べ伝え、
13 They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them. 13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them. 6:13 多くの悪霊を追い出し、大ぜいの病人に油をぬっていやした。
14 King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, "John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him." 14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. 6:14 さて、イエスの名が知れわたって、ヘロデ王の耳にはいった。ある人々は「バプテスマのヨハネが、死人の中からよみがえってきたのだ。それで、あのような力が彼のうちに働いているのだ」と言い、
15 But others said, "He is Elijah." Others said, "He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets." 15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. 6:15 他の人々は「彼はエリヤだ」と言い、また他の人々は「昔の預言者のような預言者だ」と言った。
16 But Herod, when he heard this, said, "This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead." 16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead. 6:16 ところが、ヘロデはこれを聞いて、「わたしが首を切ったあのヨハネがよみがえったのだ」と言った。
17 For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her. 17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her. 6:17 このヘロデは、自分の兄弟ピリポの妻ヘロデヤをめとったが、そのことで、人をつかわし、ヨハネを捕えて獄につないだ。
18 For John said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife." 18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife. 6:18 それは、ヨハネがヘロデに、「兄弟の妻をめとるのは、よろしくない」と言ったからである。
19 Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn't, 19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not: 6:19 そこで、ヘロデヤはヨハネを恨み、彼を殺そうと思っていたが、できないでいた。
20 for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly. 20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. 6:20 それはヘロデが、ヨハネは正しくて聖なる人であることを知って、彼を恐れ、彼に保護を加え、またその教を聞いて非常に悩みながらも、なお喜んで聞いていたからである。
21 Then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee. 21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; 6:21 ところが、よい機会がきた。ヘロデは自分の誕生日の祝に、高官や将校やガリラヤの重立った人たちを招いて宴会を催したが、
22 When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." 22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. 6:22 そこへ、このヘロデヤの娘がはいってきて舞をまい、ヘロデをはじめ列座の人たちを喜ばせた。そこで王はこの少女に「ほしいものはなんでも言いなさい。あなたにあげるから」と言い、
23 He swore to her, "Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom." 23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom. 6:23 さらに「ほしければ、この国の半分でもあげよう」と誓って言った。
24 She went out, and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" She said, "The head of John the Baptizer." 24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist. 6:24 そこで少女は座をはずして、母に「何をお願いしましょうか」と尋ねると、母は「バプテスマのヨハネの首を」と答えた。
25 She came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, "I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter." 25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. 6:25 するとすぐ、少女は急いで王のところに行って願った、「今すぐに、バプテスマのヨハネの首を盆にのせて、それをいただきとうございます」。
26 The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn't wish to refuse her. 26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her. 6:26 王は非常に困ったが、いったん誓ったのと、また列座の人たちの手前、少女の願いを退けることを好まなかった。
27 Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John's head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison, 27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison, 6:27 そこで、王はすぐに衛兵をつかわし、ヨハネの首を持って来るように命じた。衛兵は出て行き、獄中でヨハネの首を切り、
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother. 28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother. 6:28 盆にのせて持ってきて少女に与え、少女はそれを母にわたした。
29 When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb. 29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb. 6:29 ヨハネの弟子たちはこのことを聞き、その死体を引き取りにきて、墓に納めた。
30 The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught. 30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. 6:30 さて、使徒たちはイエスのもとに集まってきて、自分たちがしたことや教えたことを、みな報告した。
31 He said to them, "You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile." For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. 6:31 するとイエスは彼らに言われた、「さあ、あなたがたは、人を避けて寂しい所へ行って、しばらく休むがよい」。それは、出入りする人が多くて、食事をする暇もなかったからである。
32 They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. 32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. 6:32 そこで彼らは人を避け、舟に乗って寂しい所へ行った。
33 They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him. 33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him. 6:33 ところが、多くの人々は彼らが出かけて行くのを見、それと気づいて、方々の町々からそこへ、一せいに駆けつけ、彼らより先に着いた。
34 Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. 34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. 6:34 イエスは舟から上がって大ぜいの群衆をごらんになり、飼う者のない羊のようなその有様を深くあわれんで、いろいろと教えはじめられた。
35 When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him, and said, "This place is deserted, and it is late in the day. 35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: 6:35 ところが、はや時もおそくなったので、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、「ここは寂しい所でもあり、もう時もおそくなりました。
36 Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat." 36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat. 6:36 みんなを解散させ、めいめいで何か食べる物を買いに、まわりの部落や村々へ行かせてください」。
37 But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." They asked him, "Shall we go and buytwo hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them something to eat?" 37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat? 6:37 イエスは答えて言われた、「あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい」。弟子たちは言った、「わたしたちが二百デナリものパンを買ってきて、みんなに食べさせるのですか」。
38 He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go see." When they knew, they said, "Five, and two fish." 38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. 6:38 するとイエスは言われた、「パンは幾つあるか。見てきなさい」。彼らは確かめてきて、「五つあります。それに魚が二ひき」と言った。
39 He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass. 39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. 6:39 そこでイエスは、みんなを組々に分けて、青草の上にすわらせるように命じられた。
40 They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties. 40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. 6:40 人々は、あるいは百人ずつ、あるいは五十人ずつ、列をつくってすわった。
41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all. 41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. 6:41 それから、イエスは五つのパンと二ひきの魚とを手に取り、天を仰いでそれを祝福し、パンをさき、弟子たちにわたして配らせ、また、二ひきの魚もみんなにお分けになった。
42 They all ate, and were filled. 42 And they did all eat, and were filled. 6:42 みんなの者は食べて満腹した。
43 They took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish. 43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. 6:43 そこで、パンくずや魚の残りを集めると、十二のかごにいっぱいになった。
44 Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men. 44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men. 6:44 パンを食べた者は男五千人であった。
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away. 45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. 6:45 それからすぐ、イエスは自分で群衆を解散させておられる間に、しいて弟子たちを舟に乗り込ませ、向こう岸のベツサイダへ先におやりになった。
46 After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray. 46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. 6:46 そして群衆に別れてから、祈るために山へ退かれた。
47 When evening had come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he was alone on the land. 47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. 6:47 夕方になったとき、舟は海のまん中に出ており、イエスだけが陸地におられた。
48 Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea, and he would have passed by them, 48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. 6:48 ところが逆風が吹いていたために、弟子たちがこぎ悩んでいるのをごらんになって、夜明けの四時ごろ、海の上を歩いて彼らに近づき、そのそばを通り過ぎようとされた。
49 but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out; 49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: 6:49 彼らはイエスが海の上を歩いておられるのを見て、幽霊だと思い、大声で叫んだ。
50 for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them, and said to them, "Cheer up!It is I! Don't be afraid." 50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. 6:50 みんなの者がそれを見て、おじ恐れたからである。しかし、イエスはすぐ彼らに声をかけ、「しっかりするのだ。わたしである。恐れることはない」と言われた。
51 He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled; 51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. 6:51 そして、彼らの舟に乗り込まれると、風はやんだ。彼らは心の中で、非常に驚いた。
52 for they hadn't understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened. 52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. 6:52 先のパンのことを悟らず、その心が鈍くなっていたからである。
53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore. 53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. 6:53 彼らは海を渡り、ゲネサレの地に着いて舟をつないだ。
54 When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him, 54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him, 6:54 そして舟からあがると、人々はすぐイエスと知って、
55 and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick, on their mats, to where they heard he was. 55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. 6:55 その地方をあまねく駆けめぐり、イエスがおられると聞けば、どこへでも病人を床にのせて運びはじめた。
56 Wherever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch just thefringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well. 56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole. 6:56 そして、村でも町でも部落でも、イエスがはいって行かれる所では、病人たちをその広場におき、せめてその上着のふさにでも、さわらせてやっていただきたいと、お願いした。そしてさわった者は皆いやされた。

1 Then the Pharisees, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem. 1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. 7:1 さて、パリサイ人と、ある律法学者たちとが、エルサレムからきて、イエスのもとに集まった。
2 Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault. 2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. 7:2 そして弟子たちのうちに、不浄な手、すなわち洗わない手で、パンを食べている者があるのを見た。
3 (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don't eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders. 3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. 7:3 もともと、パリサイ人をはじめユダヤ人はみな、昔の人の言伝えをかたく守って、念入りに手を洗ってからでないと、食事をしない。
4 They don't eat when they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.) 4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. 7:4 また市場から帰ったときには、身を清めてからでないと、食事をせず、なおそのほかにも、杯、鉢、銅器を洗うことなど、昔から受けついでかたく守っている事が、たくさんあった。
5 The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" 5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? 7:5 そこで、パリサイ人と律法学者たちとは、イエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、あなたの弟子たちは、昔の人の言伝えに従って歩まないで、不浄な手でパンを食べるのですか」。
6 He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7:6 イエスは言われた、「イザヤは、あなたがた偽善者について、こう書いているが、それは適切な預言である、『この民は、口さきではわたしを敬うが、その心はわたしから遠く離れている。
7 But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 7:7 人間のいましめを教として教え、無意味にわたしを拝んでいる』。
8 "For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things." 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 7:8 あなたがたは、神のいましめをさしおいて、人間の言伝えを固執している」。
9 He said to them, "Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 7:9 また、言われた、「あなたがたは、自分たちの言伝えを守るために、よくも神のいましめを捨てたものだ。
10 For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother;' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.' 10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 7:10 モーセは言ったではないか、『父と母とを敬え』、また『父または母をののしる者は、必ず死に定められる』と。
11 But you say, 'If a man tells his father or his mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban , that is to say, given to God;"' 11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. 7:11 それだのに、あなたがたは、もし人が父または母にむかって、あなたに差上げるはずのこのものはコルバン、すなわち、供え物ですと言えば、それでよいとして、
12 then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother, 12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 7:12 その人は父母に対して、もう何もしないで済むのだと言っている。
13 making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this." 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 7:13 こうしてあなたがたは、自分たちが受けついだ言伝えによって、神の言を無にしている。また、このような事をしばしばおこなっている」。
14 He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand. 14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 7:14 それから、イエスは再び群衆を呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたはみんな、わたしの言うことを聞いて悟るがよい。
15 There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man. 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 7:15 すべて外から人の中にはいって、人をけがしうるものはない。かえって、人の中から出てくるものが、人をけがすのである。〔
16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!" 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 7:16 聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい〕」。
17 When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable. 17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 7:17 イエスが群衆を離れて家にはいられると、弟子たちはこの譬について尋ねた。
18 He said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Don't you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can't defile him, 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 7:18 すると、言われた、「あなたがたも、そんなに鈍いのか。すべて、外から人の中にはいって来るものは、人を汚し得ないことが、わからないのか。
19 because it doesn't go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, thuspurifying all foods ?" 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 7:19 それは人の心の中にはいるのではなく、腹の中にはいり、そして、外に出て行くだけである」。イエスはこのように、どんな食物でもきよいものとされた。
20 He said, "That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man. 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 7:20 さらに言われた、「人から出て来るもの、それが人をけがすのである。
21 For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 7:21 すなわち内部から、人の心の中から、悪い思いが出て来る。不品行、盗み、殺人、
22 covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 7:22 姦淫、貪欲、邪悪、欺き、好色、妬み、誹り、高慢、愚痴。
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. 7:23 これらの悪はすべて内部から出てきて、人をけがすのである」。
24 From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and didn't want anyone to know it, but he couldn't escape notice. 24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. 7:24 さて、イエスは、そこを立ち去って、ツロの地方に行かれた。そして、だれにも知れないように、家の中にはいられたが、隠れていることができなかった。
25 For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet. 25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: 7:25 そして、けがれた霊につかれた幼い娘をもつ女が、イエスのことをすぐ聞きつけてきて、その足もとにひれ伏した。
26 Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter. 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 7:26 この女はギリシヤ人で、スロ・フェニキヤの生れであった。そして、娘から悪霊を追い出してくださいとお願いした。
27 But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." 27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. 7:27 イエスは女に言われた、「まず子供たちに十分食べさすべきである。子供たちのパンを取って小犬に投げてやるのは、よろしくない」。
28 But she answered him, "Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." 28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. 7:28 すると、女は答えて言った、「主よ、お言葉どおりです。でも、食卓の下にいる小犬も、子供たちのパンくずは、いただきます」。
29 He said to her, "For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter." 29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. 7:29 そこでイエスは言われた、「その言葉で、じゅうぶんである。お帰りなさい。悪霊は娘から出てしまった」。
30 She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out. 30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed. 7:30 そこで、女が家に帰ってみると、その子は床の上に寝ており、悪霊は出てしまっていた。
31 Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis. 31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. 7:31 それから、イエスはまたツロの地方を去り、シドンを経てデカポリス地方を通りぬけ、ガリラヤの海べにこられた。
32 They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him. 32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. 7:32 すると人々は、耳が聞えず口のきけない人を、みもとに連れてきて、手を置いてやっていただきたいとお願いした。
33 He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue. 33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 7:33 そこで、イエスは彼ひとりを群衆の中から連れ出し、その両耳に指をさし入れ、それから、つばきでその舌を潤し、
34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha!" that is, "Be opened!" 34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 7:34 天を仰いでため息をつき、その人に「エパタ」と言われた。これは「開けよ」という意味である。
35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly. 35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. 7:35 すると彼の耳が開け、その舌のもつれもすぐ解けて、はっきりと話すようになった。
36 He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it. 36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it; 7:36 イエスは、この事をだれにも言ってはならぬと、人々に口止めをされたが、口止めをすればするほど、かえって、ますます言いひろめた。
37 They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!" 37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak. 7:37 彼らは、ひとかたならず驚いて言った、「このかたのなさった事は、何もかも、すばらしい。耳の聞えない者を聞えるようにしてやり、口のきけない者をきけるようにしておやりになった」。

1 In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them, 1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, 8:1 そのころ、また大ぜいの群衆が集まっていたが、何も食べるものがなかったので、イエスは弟子たちを呼び寄せて言われた、
2 "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat. 2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: 8:2 「この群衆がかわいそうである。もう三日間もわたしと一緒にいるのに、何も食べるものがない。
3 If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way." 3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far. 8:3 もし、彼らを空腹のまま家に帰らせるなら、途中で弱り切ってしまうであろう。それに、なかには遠くからきている者もある」。
4 His disciples answered him, "From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?" 4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? 8:4 弟子たちは答えた、「こんな荒野で、どこからパンを手に入れて、これらの人々にじゅうぶん食べさせることができましょうか」。
5 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven." 5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven. 8:5 イエスが弟子たちに、「パンはいくつあるか」と尋ねられると、「七つあります」と答えた。
6 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude. 6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. 8:6 そこでイエスは群衆に地にすわるように命じられた。そして七つのパンを取り、感謝してこれをさき、人々に配るように弟子たちに渡されると、弟子たちはそれを群衆に配った。
7 They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also. 7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. 8:7 また小さい魚が少しばかりあったので、祝福して、それをも人々に配るようにと言われた。
8 They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over. 8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets. 8:8 彼らは食べて満腹した。そして残ったパンくずを集めると、七かごになった。
9 Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away. 9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away. 8:9 人々の数はおよそ四千人であった。それからイエスは彼らを解散させ、
10 Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha. 10 And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha. 8:10 すぐ弟子たちと共に舟に乗って、ダルマヌタの地方へ行かれた。
11 The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him. 11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. 8:11 パリサイ人たちが出てきて、イエスを試みようとして議論をしかけ、天からのしるしを求めた。
12 He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does thisgeneration seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation." 12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation. 8:12 イエスは、心の中で深く嘆息して言われた、「なぜ、今の時代はしるしを求めるのだろう。よく言い聞かせておくが、しるしは今の時代には決して与えられない」。
13 He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side. 13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side. 8:13 そして、イエスは彼らをあとに残し、また舟に乗って向こう岸へ行かれた。
14 They forgot to take bread; and they didn't have more than one loaf in the boat with them. 14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf. 8:14 弟子たちはパンを持って来るのを忘れていたので、舟の中にはパン一つしか持ち合わせがなかった。
15 He warned them, saying, "Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod." 15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. 8:15 そのとき、イエスは彼らを戒めて、「パリサイ人のパン種とヘロデのパン種とを、よくよく警戒せよ」と言われた。
16 They reasoned with one another, saying, "It's because we have no bread." 16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread. 8:16 弟子たちは、これは自分たちがパンを持っていないためであろうと、互に論じ合った。
17 Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, "Why do you reason that it's because you have no bread? Don't you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened? 17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? 8:17 イエスはそれと知って、彼らに言われた、「なぜ、パンがないからだと論じ合っているのか。まだわからないのか、悟らないのか。あなたがたの心は鈍くなっているのか。
18 Having eyes, don't you see? Having ears, don't you hear? Don't you remember? 18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember? 8:18 目があっても見えないのか。耳があっても聞えないのか。まだ思い出さないのか。
19 When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Twelve." 19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve. 8:19 五つのパンをさいて五千人に分けたとき、拾い集めたパンくずは、幾つのかごになったか」。弟子たちは答えた、「十二かごです」。
20 "When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Seven." 20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. 8:20 「七つのパンを四千人に分けたときには、パンくずを幾つのかごに拾い集めたか」。「七かごです」と答えた。
21 He asked them, "Don't you understand, yet?" 21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand? 8:21 そこでイエスは彼らに言われた、「まだ悟らないのか」。
22 He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him. 22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 8:22 そのうちに、彼らはベツサイダに着いた。すると人々が、ひとりの盲人を連れてきて、さわってやっていただきたいとお願いした。
23 He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything. 23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 8:23 イエスはこの盲人の手をとって、村の外に連れ出し、その両方の目につばきをつけ、両手を彼に当てて、「何か見えるか」と尋ねられた。
24 He looked up, and said, "I see men; for I see them like trees walking." 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 8:24 すると彼は顔を上げて言った、「人が見えます。木のように見えます。歩いているようです」。
25 Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly. 25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 8:25 それから、イエスが再び目の上に両手を当てられると、盲人は見つめているうちに、なおってきて、すべてのものがはっきりと見えだした。
26 He sent him away to his house, saying, "Don't enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village." 26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town. 8:26 そこでイエスは、「村にはいってはいけない」と言って、彼を家に帰された。
27 Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, "Who do men say that I am?" 27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 8:27 さて、イエスは弟子たちとピリポ・カイザリヤの村々へ出かけられたが、その途中で、弟子たちに尋ねて言われた、「人々は、わたしをだれと言っているか」。
28 They told him, "John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets." 28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 8:28 彼らは答えて言った、「バプテスマのヨハネだと、言っています。また、エリヤだと言い、また、預言者のひとりだと言っている者もあります」。
29 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ." 29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 8:29 そこでイエスは彼らに尋ねられた、「それでは、あなたがたはわたしをだれと言うか」。ペテロが答えて言った、「あなたこそキリストです」。
30 He commanded them that they should tell no one about him. 30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. 8:30 するとイエスは、自分のことをだれにも言ってはいけないと、彼らを戒められた。
31 He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 8:31 それから、人の子は必ず多くの苦しみを受け、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちに捨てられ、また殺され、そして三日の後によみがえるべきことを、彼らに教えはじめ、
32 He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. 8:32 しかもあからさまに、この事を話された。すると、ペテロはイエスをわきへ引き寄せて、いさめはじめたので、
33 But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men." 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men. 8:33 イエスは振り返って、弟子たちを見ながら、ペテロをしかって言われた、「サタンよ、引きさがれ。あなたは神のことを思わないで、人のことを思っている」。
34 He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, "Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 8:34 それから群衆を弟子たちと一緒に呼び寄せて、彼らに言われた、「だれでもわたしについてきたいと思うなら、自分を捨て、自分の十字架を負うて、わたしに従ってきなさい。
35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. 8:35 自分の命を救おうと思う者はそれを失い、わたしのため、また福音のために、自分の命を失う者は、それを救うであろう。
36 For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 8:36 人が全世界をもうけても、自分の命を損したら、なんの得になろうか。
37 For what will a man give in exchange for his life? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 8:37 また、人はどんな代価を払って、その命を買いもどすことができようか。
38 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. 8:38 邪悪で罪深いこの時代にあって、わたしとわたしの言葉とを恥じる者に対しては、人の子もまた、父の栄光のうちに聖なる御使たちと共に来るときに、その者を恥じるであろう」。

1 He said to them, "Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste death until they see the Kingdom of God come with power." 1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. 9:1 また、彼らに言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。神の国が力をもって来るのを見るまでは、決して死を味わわない者が、ここに立っている者の中にいる」。
2 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them. 2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 9:2 六日の後、イエスは、ただペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。ところが、彼らの目の前でイエスの姿が変り、
3 His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. 3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. 9:3 その衣は真白く輝き、どんな布さらしでも、それほどに白くすることはできないくらいになった。
4 Elijah and Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus. 4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. 9:4 すると、エリヤがモーセと共に彼らに現れて、イエスと語り合っていた。
5 Peter answered Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." 5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 9:5 ペテロはイエスにむかって言った、「先生、わたしたちがここにいるのは、すばらしいことです。それで、わたしたちは小屋を三つ建てましょう。一つはあなたのために、一つはモーセのために、一つはエリヤのために」。
6 For he didn't know what to say, for they were very afraid. 6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. 9:6 そう言ったのは、みんなの者が非常に恐れていたので、ペテロは何を言ってよいか、わからなかったからである。
7 A cloud came, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him." 7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 9:7 すると、雲がわき起って彼らをおおった。そして、その雲の中から声があった、「これはわたしの愛する子である。これに聞け」。
8 Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only. 8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves. 9:8 彼らは急いで見まわしたが、もはやだれも見えず、ただイエスだけが、自分たちと一緒におられた。
9 As they were coming down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead. 9:9 一同が山を下って来るとき、イエスは「人の子が死人の中からよみがえるまでは、いま見たことをだれにも話してはならない」と、彼らに命じられた。
10 They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the "rising from the dead" meant. 10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean. 9:10 彼らはこの言葉を心にとめ、死人の中からよみがえるとはどういうことかと、互に論じ合った。
11 They asked him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" 11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? 9:11 そしてイエスに尋ねた、「なぜ、律法学者たちは、エリヤが先に来るはずだと言っているのですか」。
12 He said to them, "Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised? 12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. 9:12 イエスは言われた、「確かに、エリヤが先にきて、万事を元どおりに改める。しかし、人の子について、彼が多くの苦しみを受け、かつ恥ずかしめられると、書いてあるのはなぜか。
13 But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they have also done to him whatever they wanted to, even as it is written about him." 13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him. 9:13 しかしあなたがたに言っておく、エリヤはすでにきたのだ。そして彼について書いてあるように、人々は自分かってに彼をあしらった」。
14 Coming to the disciples, he saw a great multitude around them, and scribes questioning them. 14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. 9:14 さて、彼らがほかの弟子たちの所にきて見ると、大ぜいの群衆が弟子たちを取り囲み、そして律法学者たちが彼らと論じ合っていた。
15 Immediately all the multitude, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and running to him greeted him. 15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him. 9:15 群衆はみな、すぐイエスを見つけて、非常に驚き、駆け寄ってきて、あいさつをした。
16 He asked the scribes, "What are you asking them?" 16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them? 9:16 イエスが彼らに、「あなたがたは彼らと何を論じているのか」と尋ねられると、
17 One of the multitude answered, "Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit; 17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 9:17 群衆のひとりが答えた、「先生、おしの霊につかれているわたしのむすこを、こちらに連れて参りました。
18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren't able." 18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. 9:18 霊がこのむすこにとりつきますと、どこででも彼を引き倒し、それから彼はあわを吹き、歯をくいしばり、からだをこわばらせてしまいます。それでお弟子たちに、この霊を追い出してくださるように願いましたが、できませんでした」。
19 He answered him, "Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me." 19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 9:19 イエスは答えて言われた、「ああ、なんという不信仰な時代であろう。いつまで、わたしはあなたがたと一緒におられようか。いつまで、あなたがたに我慢ができようか。その子をわたしの所に連れてきなさい」。
20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth. 20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 9:20 そこで人々は、その子をみもとに連れてきた。霊がイエスを見るや否や、その子をひきつけさせたので、子は地に倒れ、あわを吹きながらころげまわった。
21 He asked his father, "How long has it been since this has come to him?" He said, "From childhood. 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 9:21 そこで、イエスが父親に「いつごろから、こんなになったのか」と尋ねられると、父親は答えた、「幼い時からです。
22 Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us." 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 9:22 霊はたびたび、この子を火の中、水の中に投げ入れて、殺そうとしました。しかしできますれば、わたしどもをあわれんでお助けください」。
23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 9:23 イエスは彼に言われた、「もしできれば、と言うのか。信ずる者には、どんな事でもできる」。
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, "I believe. Help my unbelief!" 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 9:24 その子の父親はすぐ叫んで言った、「信じます。不信仰なわたしを、お助けください」。
25 When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, "You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!" 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 9:25 イエスは群衆が駆け寄って来るのをごらんになって、けがれた霊をしかって言われた、「おしとつんぼの霊よ、わたしがおまえに命じる。この子から出て行け。二度と、はいって来るな」。
26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, "He is dead." 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 9:26 すると霊は叫び声をあげ、激しく引きつけさせて出て行った。その子は死人のようになったので、多くの人は、死んだのだと言った。
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 9:27 しかし、イエスが手を取って起されると、その子は立ち上がった。
28 When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we cast it out?" 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 9:28 家にはいられたとき、弟子たちはひそかにお尋ねした、「わたしたちは、どうして霊を追い出せなかったのですか」。
29 He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting." 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. 9:29 すると、イエスは言われた、「このたぐいは、祈によらなければ、どうしても追い出すことはできない」。
30 They went out from there, and passed through Galilee. He didn't want anyone to know it. 30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. 9:30 それから彼らはそこを立ち去り、ガリラヤをとおって行ったが、イエスは人に気づかれるのを好まれなかった。
31 For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, "The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again." 31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. 9:31 それは、イエスが弟子たちに教えて、「人の子は人々の手にわたされ、彼らに殺され、殺されてから三日の後によみがえるであろう」と言っておられたからである。
32 But they didn't understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him. 32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him. 9:32 しかし、彼らはイエスの言われたことを悟らず、また尋ねるのを恐れていた。
33 He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, "What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?" 33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? 9:33 それから彼らはカペナウムにきた。そして家におられるとき、イエスは弟子たちに尋ねられた、「あなたがたは途中で何を論じていたのか」。
34 But they were silent, for they had disputed one with another on the way about who was the greatest. 34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. 9:34 彼らは黙っていた。それは途中で、だれが一ばん偉いかと、互に論じ合っていたからである。
35 He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them, "If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all." 35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. 9:35 そこで、イエスはすわって十二弟子を呼び、そして言われた、「だれでも一ばん先になろうと思うならば、一ばんあとになり、みんなに仕える者とならねばならない」。
36 He took a little child, and set him in the midst of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, 36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, 9:36 そして、ひとりの幼な子をとりあげて、彼らのまん中に立たせ、それを抱いて言われた。
37 "Whoever receives one such little child in my name, receives me, and whoever receives me, doesn't receive me, but him who sent me." 37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. 9:37 「だれでも、このような幼な子のひとりを、わたしの名のゆえに受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのである。そして、わたしを受けいれる者は、わたしを受けいれるのではなく、わたしをおつかわしになったかたを受けいれるのである」。
38 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone who doesn't follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow us." 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 9:38 ヨハネがイエスに言った、「先生、わたしたちについてこない者が、あなたの名を使って悪霊を追い出しているのを見ましたが、その人はわたしたちについてこなかったので、やめさせました」。
39 But Jesus said, "Don't forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 9:39 イエスは言われた、「やめさせないがよい。だれでもわたしの名で力あるわざを行いながら、すぐそのあとで、わたしをそしることはできない。
40 For whoever is not against us is on our side. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part. 9:40 わたしたちに反対しない者は、わたしたちの味方である。
41 For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ's, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward. 41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. 9:41 だれでも、キリストについている者だというので、あなたがたに水一杯でも飲ませてくれるものは、よく言っておくが、決してその報いからもれることはないであろう。
42 Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he was thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck. 42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. 9:42 また、わたしを信じるこれらの小さい者のひとりをつまずかせる者は、大きなひきうすを首にかけられて海に投げ込まれた方が、はるかによい。
43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go intoGehenna, into the unquenchable fire, 43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 9:43 もし、あなたの片手が罪を犯させるなら、それを切り捨てなさい。両手がそろったままで地獄の消えない火の中に落ち込むよりは、かたわになって命に入る方がよい。〔
44 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.' 44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 9:44 地獄では、うじがつきず、火も消えることがない。〕
45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast intoGehenna, into the fire that will never be quenched— 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 9:45 もし、あなたの片足が罪を犯させるなら、それを切り捨てなさい。両足がそろったままで地獄に投げ入れられるよりは、片足で命に入る方がよい。
46 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.' 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 9:46 地獄では、うじがつきず、火も消えることがない。〕
47 If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into theGehenna of fire, 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 9:47 もし、あなたの片目が罪を犯させるなら、それを抜き出しなさい。両眼がそろったままで地獄に投げ入れられるよりは、片目になって神の国に入る方がよい。

50 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? 1 He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them. 1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. 10:1 それから、イエスはそこを去って、ユダヤの地方とヨルダンの向こう側へ行かれたが、群衆がまた寄り集まったので、いつものように、また教えておられた。
2 Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" 2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. 10:2 そのとき、パリサイ人たちが近づいてきて、イエスを試みようとして質問した、「夫はその妻を出しても差しつかえないでしょうか」。
3 He answered, "What did Moses command you?" 3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 10:3 イエスは答えて言われた、「モーセはあなたがたになんと命じたか」。
4 They said, "Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her." 4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 10:4 彼らは言った、「モーセは、離縁状を書いて妻を出すことを許しました」。
5 But Jesus said to them, "For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment. 5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 10:5 そこでイエスは言われた、「モーセはあなたがたの心が、かたくななので、あなたがたのためにこの定めを書いたのである。
6 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 10:6 しかし、天地創造の初めから、『神は人を男と女とに造られた。
7 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 10:7 それゆえに、人はその父母を離れ、
8 and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 10:8 ふたりの者は一体となるべきである』。彼らはもはや、ふたりではなく一体である。
9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10:9 だから、神が合わせられたものを、人は離してはならない」。
10 In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter. 10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. 10:10 家にはいってから、弟子たちはまたこのことについて尋ねた。
11 He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her. 11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 10:11 そこで、イエスは言われた、「だれでも、自分の妻を出して他の女をめとる者は、その妻に対して姦淫を行うのである。
12 If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery." 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. 10:12 また妻が、その夫と別れて他の男にとつぐならば、姦淫を行うのである」。
13 They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them. 13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 10:13 イエスにさわっていただくために、人々が幼な子らをみもとに連れてきた。ところが、弟子たちは彼らをたしなめた。
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, "Allow the little children to come to me! Don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 10:14 それを見てイエスは憤り、彼らに言われた、「幼な子らをわたしの所に来るままにしておきなさい。止めてはならない。神の国はこのような者の国である。
15 Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it." 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 10:15 よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも幼な子のように神の国を受けいれる者でなければ、そこにはいることは決してできない」。
16 He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. 10:16 そして彼らを抱き、手をその上において祝福された。
17 As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" 17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 10:17 イエスが道に出て行かれると、ひとりの人が走り寄り、みまえにひざまずいて尋ねた、「よき師よ、永遠の生命を受けるために、何をしたらよいでしょうか」。
18 Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God. 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 10:18 イエスは言われた、「なぜわたしをよき者と言うのか。神ひとりのほかによい者はいない。
19 You know the commandments: 'Do not murder,' 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not give false testimony,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and mother.'" 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 10:19 いましめはあなたの知っているとおりである。『殺すな、姦淫するな、盗むな、偽証を立てるな。欺き取るな。父と母とを敬え』」。
20 He said to him, "Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth." 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 10:20 すると、彼は言った、「先生、それらの事はみな、小さい時から守っております」。
21 Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross." 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 10:21 イエスは彼に目をとめ、いつくしんで言われた、「あなたに足りないことが一つある。帰って、持っているものをみな売り払って、貧しい人々に施しなさい。そうすれば、天に宝を持つようになろう。そして、わたしに従ってきなさい」。
22 But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 10:22 すると、彼はこの言葉を聞いて、顔を曇らせ、悲しみながら立ち去った。たくさんの資産を持っていたからである。
23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, "How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!" 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 10:23 それから、イエスは見まわして、弟子たちに言われた、「財産のある者が神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう」。
24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, "Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 10:24 弟子たちはこの言葉に驚き怪しんだ。イエスは更に言われた、「子たちよ、神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう。
25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God." 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 10:25 富んでいる者が神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通る方が、もっとやさしい」。
26 They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, "Then who can be saved?" 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 10:26 すると彼らはますます驚いて、互に言った、「それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろう」。
27 Jesus, looking at them, said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God." 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. 10:27 イエスは彼らを見つめて言われた、「人にはできないが、神にはできる。神はなんでもできるからである」。
28 Peter began to tell him, "Behold, we have left all, and have followed you." 28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 10:28 ペテロがイエスに言い出した、「ごらんなさい、わたしたちはいっさいを捨てて、あなたに従って参りました」。
29 Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News, 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 10:29 イエスは言われた、「よく聞いておくがよい。だれでもわたしのために、また福音のために、家、兄弟、姉妹、母、父、子、もしくは畑を捨てた者は、
30 but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life. 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 10:30 必ずその百倍を受ける。すなわち、今この時代では家、兄弟、姉妹、母、子および畑を迫害と共に受け、また、きたるべき世では永遠の生命を受ける。
31 But many who are first will be last; and the last first." 31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. 10:31 しかし、多くの先の者はあとになり、あとの者は先になるであろう」。
32 They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him. 32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, 10:32 さて、一同はエルサレムへ上る途上にあったが、イエスが先頭に立って行かれたので、彼らは驚き怪しみ、従う者たちは恐れた。するとイエスはまた十二弟子を呼び寄せて、自分の身に起ろうとすることについて語りはじめられた、
33 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles. 33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 10:33 「見よ、わたしたちはエルサレムへ上って行くが、人の子は祭司長、律法学者たちの手に引きわたされる。そして彼らは死刑を宣告した上、彼を異邦人に引きわたすであろう。
34 They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again." 34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. 10:34 また彼をあざけり、つばきをかけ、むち打ち、ついに殺してしまう。そして彼は三日の後によみがえるであろう」。
35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask." 35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. 10:35 さて、ゼベダイの子のヤコブとヨハネとがイエスのもとにきて言った、「先生、わたしたちがお頼みすることは、なんでもかなえてくださるようにお願いします」。
36 He said to them, "What do you want me to do for you?" 36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? 10:36 イエスは彼らに「何をしてほしいと、願うのか」と言われた。
37 They said to him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory." 37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory. 10:37 すると彼らは言った、「栄光をお受けになるとき、ひとりをあなたの右に、ひとりを左にすわるようにしてください」。
38 But Jesus said to them, "You don't know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" 38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? 10:38 イエスは言われた、「あなたがたは自分が何を求めているのか、わかっていない。あなたがたは、わたしが飲む杯を飲み、わたしが受けるバプテスマを受けることができるか」。
39 They said to him, "We are able." Jesus said to them, "You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; 39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 10:39 彼らは「できます」と答えた。するとイエスは言われた、「あなたがたは、わたしが飲む杯を飲み、わたしが受けるバプテスマを受けるであろう。
40 but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared." 40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. 10:40 しかし、わたしの右、左にすわらせることは、わたしのすることではなく、ただ備えられている人々だけに許されることである」。
41 When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John. 41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. 10:41 十人の者はこれを聞いて、ヤコブとヨハネとのことで憤慨し出した。
42 Jesus summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 10:42 そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて言われた、「あなたがたの知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者と見られている人々は、その民を治め、また偉い人たちは、その民の上に権力をふるっている。
43 But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 10:43 しかし、あなたがたの間では、そうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、仕える人となり、
44 Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 10:44 あなたがたの間でかしらになりたいと思う者は、すべての人の僕とならねばならない。
45 For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. 10:45 人の子がきたのも、仕えられるためではなく、仕えるためであり、また多くの人のあがないとして、自分の命を与えるためである」。
46 They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road. 46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. 10:46 それから、彼らはエリコにきた。そして、イエスが弟子たちや大ぜいの群衆と共にエリコから出かけられたとき、テマイの子、バルテマイという盲人のこじきが、道ばたにすわっていた。
47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!" 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 10:47 ところが、ナザレのイエスだと聞いて、彼は「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんでください」と叫び出した。
48 Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, "You son of David, have mercy on me!" 48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. 10:48 多くの人々は彼をしかって黙らせようとしたが、彼はますます激しく叫びつづけた、「ダビデの子イエスよ、わたしをあわれんでください」。
49 Jesus stood still, and said, "Call him." They called the blind man, saying to him, "Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!" 49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. 10:49 イエスは立ちどまって「彼を呼べ」と命じられた。そこで、人々はその盲人を呼んで言った、「喜べ、立て、おまえを呼んでおられる」。
50 He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus. 50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 10:50 そこで彼は上着を脱ぎ捨て、踊りあがってイエスのもとにきた。
51 Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said to him, "Rabboni, that I may see again." 51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. 10:51 イエスは彼にむかって言われた、「わたしに何をしてほしいのか」。その盲人は言った、「先生、見えるようになることです」。
52 Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your faith has made you well." Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. 52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. 10:52 そこでイエスは言われた、「行け、あなたの信仰があなたを救った」。すると彼は、たちまち見えるようになり、イエスに従って行った。

1 When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, 11:1 さて、彼らがエルサレムに近づき、オリブの山に沿ったベテパゲ、ベタニヤの附近にきた時、イエスはふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、
2 and said to them, "Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him, and bring him. 2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. 11:2 「むこうの村へ行きなさい。そこにはいるとすぐ、まだだれも乗ったことのないろばの子が、つないであるのを見るであろう。それを解いて引いてきなさい。
3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord needs him;' and immediately he will send him back here." 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. 11:3 もし、だれかがあなたがたに、なぜそんな事をするのかと言ったなら、主がお入り用なのです。またすぐ、ここへ返してくださいますと、言いなさい」。
4 They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him. 4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him. 11:4 そこで、彼らは出かけて行き、そして表通りの戸口に、ろばの子がつないであるのを見たので、それを解いた。
5 Some of those who stood there asked them, "What are you doing, untying the young donkey?" 5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? 11:5 すると、そこに立っていた人々が言った、「そのろばの子を解いて、どうするのか」。
6 They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go. 6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. 11:6 弟子たちは、イエスが言われたとおり彼らに話したので、ゆるしてくれた。
7 They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. 11:7 そこで、弟子たちは、そのろばの子をイエスのところに引いてきて、自分たちの上着をそれに投げかけると、イエスはその上にお乗りになった。
8 Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees, and spreading them on the road. 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. 11:8 すると多くの人々は自分たちの上着を道に敷き、また他の人々は葉のついた枝を野原から切ってきて敷いた。
9 Those who went in front, and those who followed, cried out, "Hosanna ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: 11:9 そして、前に行く者も、あとに従う者も共に叫びつづけた、「ホサナ、主の御名によってきたる者に、祝福あれ。
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" 10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. 11:10 今きたる、われらの父ダビデの国に、祝福あれ。いと高き所に、ホサナ」。
11 Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve. 11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve. 11:11 こうしてイエスはエルサレムに着き、宮にはいられた。そして、すべてのものを見まわった後、もはや時もおそくなっていたので、十二弟子と共にベタニヤに出て行かれた。
12 The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry. 12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 11:12 翌日、彼らがベタニヤから出かけてきたとき、イエスは空腹をおぼえられた。
13 Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 11:13 そして、葉の茂ったいちじくの木を遠くからごらんになって、その木に何かありはしないかと近寄られたが、葉のほかは何も見当らなかった。いちじくの季節でなかったからである。
14 Jesus told it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again!" and his disciples heard it. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. 11:14 そこで、イエスはその木にむかって、「今から後いつまでも、おまえの実を食べる者がないように」と言われた。弟子たちはこれを聞いていた。
15 They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves. 15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; 11:15 それから、彼らはエルサレムにきた。イエスは宮に入り、宮の庭で売り買いしていた人々を追い出しはじめ、両替人の台や、はとを売る者の腰掛をくつがえし、
16 He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple. 16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. 11:16 また器ものを持って宮の庭を通り抜けるのをお許しにならなかった。
17 He taught, saying to them, "Isn't it written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?' But you have made it a den of robbers!" 17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. 11:17 そして、彼らに教えて言われた、「『わたしの家は、すべての国民の祈の家ととなえらるべきである』と書いてあるではないか。それだのに、あなたがたはそれを強盗の巣にしてしまった」。

19 When evening came, he went out of the city. 19 And when even was come, he went out of the city. 11:19 夕方になると、イエスと弟子たちとは、いつものように都の外に出て行った。
20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 11:20 朝はやく道をとおっていると、彼らは先のいちじくが根元から枯れているのを見た。
21 Peter, remembering, said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away." 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 11:21 そこで、ペテロは思い出してイエスに言った、「先生、ごらんなさい。あなたがのろわれたいちじくが、枯れています」。
22 Jesus answered them, "Have faith in God. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 11:22 イエスは答えて言われた、「神を信じなさい。
23 For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and doesn't doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 11:23 よく聞いておくがよい。だれでもこの山に、動き出して、海の中にはいれと言い、その言ったことは必ず成ると、心に疑わないで信じるなら、そのとおりに成るであろう。
24 Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 11:24 そこで、あなたがたに言うが、なんでも祈り求めることは、すでにかなえられたと信じなさい。そうすれば、そのとおりになるであろう。
25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 11:25 また立って祈るとき、だれかに対して、何か恨み事があるならば、ゆるしてやりなさい。そうすれば、天にいますあなたがたの父も、あなたがたのあやまちを、ゆるしてくださるであろう。〔
26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions." 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. 11:26 もしゆるさないならば、天にいますあなたがたの父も、あなたがたのあやまちを、ゆるしてくださらないであろう〕」。
27 They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him, 27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, 11:27 彼らはまたエルサレムにきた。そして、イエスが宮の内を歩いておられると、祭司長、律法学者、長老たちが、みもとにきて言った、
28 and they began saying to him, "By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?" 28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? 11:28 「何の権威によってこれらの事をするのですか。だれが、そうする権威を授けたのですか」。
29 Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 11:29 そこで、イエスは彼らに言われた、「一つだけ尋ねよう。それに答えてほしい。そうしたら、何の権威によって、わたしがこれらの事をするのか、あなたがたに言おう。
30 The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me." 30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me. 11:30 ヨハネのバプテスマは天からであったか、人からであったか、答えなさい」。
31 They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we should say, 'From heaven;' he will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?' 31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him? 11:31 すると、彼らは互に論じて言った、「もし天からだと言えば、では、なぜ彼を信じなかったのか、とイエスは言うだろう。
32 If we should say, 'From men'"—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet. 32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed. 11:32 しかし、人からだと言えば……」。彼らは群衆を恐れていた。人々が皆、ヨハネを預言者だとほんとうに思っていたからである。
33 They answered Jesus, "We don't know." Jesus said to them, "Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things." 33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. 1 He began to speak to them in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the winepress, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country. 1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 12:1 そこでイエスは譬で彼らに語り出された、「ある人がぶどう園を造り、垣をめぐらし、また酒ぶねの穴を掘り、やぐらを立て、それを農夫たちに貸して、旅に出かけた。
2 When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard. 2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 12:2 季節になったので、農夫たちのところへ、ひとりの僕を送って、ぶどう園の収穫の分け前を取り立てさせようとした。

4 Again, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated. 4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 12:4 また他の僕を送ったが、その頭をなぐって侮辱した。
5 Again he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some. 5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 12:5 そこでまた他の者を送ったが、今度はそれを殺してしまった。そのほか、なお大ぜいの者を送ったが、彼らを打ったり、殺したりした。
6 Therefore still having one, his beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' 6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 12:6 ここに、もうひとりの者がいた。それは彼の愛子であった。自分の子は敬ってくれるだろうと思って、最後に彼をつかわした。
7 But those farmers said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's. 12:7 すると、農夫たちは『あれはあと取りだ。さあ、これを殺してしまおう。そうしたら、その財産はわれわれのものになるのだ』と話し合い、
8 They took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 12:8 彼をつかまえて殺し、ぶどう園の外に投げ捨てた。
9 What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others. 9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. 12:9 このぶどう園の主人は、どうするだろうか。彼は出てきて、農夫たちを殺し、ぶどう園を他の人々に与えるであろう。
10 Haven't you even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner. 10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 12:10 あなたがたは、この聖書の句を読んだことがないのか。『家造りらの捨てた石が隅のかしら石になった。
11 This was from the Lord, it is marvelous in our eyes'?" 11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 12:11 これは主がなされたことで、わたしたちの目には不思議に見える』」。
12 They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away. 12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way. 12:12 彼らはいまの譬が、自分たちに当てて語られたことを悟ったので、イエスを捕えようとしたが、群衆を恐れた。そしてイエスをそこに残して立ち去った。
13 They sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words. 13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. 12:13 さて、人々はパリサイ人やヘロデ党の者を数人、イエスのもとにつかわして、その言葉じりを捕えようとした。
14 When they had come, they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don't defer to anyone; for you aren't partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? 14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? 12:14 彼らはきてイエスに言った、「先生、わたしたちはあなたが真実なかたで、だれをも、はばかられないことを知っています。あなたは人に分け隔てをなさらないで、真理に基いて神の道を教えてくださいます。ところで、カイザルに税金を納めてよいでしょうか、いけないでしょうか。納めるべきでしょうか、納めてはならないのでしょうか」。
15 Shall we give, or shall we not give?" But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it." 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. 12:15 イエスは彼らの偽善を見抜いて言われた、「なぜわたしをためそうとするのか。デナリを持ってきて見せなさい」。
16 They brought it. He said to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" They said to him, "Caesar's." 16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. 12:16 彼らはそれを持ってきた。そこでイエスは言われた、「これは、だれの肖像、だれの記号か」。彼らは「カイザルのです」と答えた。
17 Jesus answered them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." They marveled greatly at him. 17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him. 12:17 するとイエスは言われた、「カイザルのものはカイザルに、神のものは神に返しなさい」。彼らはイエスに驚嘆した。
18 There came to him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection. They asked him, saying, 18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, 12:18 復活ということはないと主張していたサドカイ人たちが、イエスのもとにきて質問した、
19 "Teacher, Moses wrote to us, 'If a man's brother dies, and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.' 19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 12:19 「先生、モーセは、わたしたちのためにこう書いています、『もし、ある人の兄が死んで、その残された妻に、子がない場合には、弟はこの女をめとって、兄のために子をもうけねばならない』。
20 There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring. 20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. 12:20 ここに、七人の兄弟がいました。長男は妻をめとりましたが、子がなくて死に、
21 The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise; 21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. 12:21 次男がその女をめとって、また子をもうけずに死に、三男も同様でした。
22 and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died. 22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. 12:22 こうして、七人ともみな子孫を残しませんでした。最後にその女も死にました。
23 In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife." 23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. 12:23 復活のとき、彼らが皆よみがえった場合、この女はだれの妻なのでしょうか。七人とも彼女を妻にしたのですが」。
24 Jesus answered them, "Isn't this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God? 24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? 12:24 イエスは言われた、「あなたがたがそんな思い違いをしているのは、聖書も神の力も知らないからではないか。
25 For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 12:25 彼らが死人の中からよみがえるときには、めとったり、とついだりすることはない。彼らは天にいる御使のようなものである。
26 But about the dead, that they are raised; haven't you read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob' ? 26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 12:26 死人がよみがえることについては、モーセの書の柴の篇で、神がモーセに仰せられた言葉を読んだことがないのか。『わたしはアブラハムの神、イサクの神、ヤコブの神である』とあるではないか。
27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken." 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. 12:27 神は死んだ者の神ではなく、生きている者の神である。あなたがたは非常な思い違いをしている」。
28 One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the greatest of all?" 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 12:28 ひとりの律法学者がきて、彼らが互に論じ合っているのを聞き、またイエスが巧みに答えられたのを認めて、イエスに質問した、「すべてのいましめの中で、どれが第一のものですか」。
29 Jesus answered, "The greatest is, 'Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one: 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 12:29 イエスは答えられた、「第一のいましめはこれである、『イスラエルよ、聞け。主なるわたしたちの神は、ただひとりの主である。
30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 12:30 心をつくし、精神をつくし、思いをつくし、力をつくして、主なるあなたの神を愛せよ』。
31 The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 12:31 第二はこれである、『自分を愛するようにあなたの隣り人を愛せよ』。これより大事ないましめは、ほかにない」。
32 The scribe said to him, "Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he, 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 12:32 そこで、この律法学者はイエスに言った、「先生、仰せのとおりです、『神はひとりであって、そのほかに神はない』と言われたのは、ほんとうです。
33 and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 12:33 また『心をつくし、知恵をつくし、力をつくして神を愛し、また自分を愛するように隣り人を愛する』ということは、すべての燔祭や犠牲よりも、はるかに大事なことです」。
34 When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one dared ask him any question after that. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. 12:34 イエスは、彼が適切な答をしたのを見て言われた、「あなたは神の国から遠くない」。それから後は、イエスにあえて問う者はなかった。
35 Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, "How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? 35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David? 12:35 イエスが宮で教えておられたとき、こう言われた、「律法学者たちは、どうしてキリストをダビデの子だと言うのか。
36 For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet."' 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 12:36 ダビデ自身が聖霊に感じて言った、『主はわが主に仰せになった、あなたの敵をあなたの足もとに置くときまでは、わたしの右に座していなさい』。
37 Therefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?" The common people heard him gladly. 37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly. 12:37 このように、ダビデ自身がキリストを主と呼んでいる。それなら、どうしてキリストはダビデの子であろうか」。大ぜいの群衆は、喜んでイエスに耳を傾けていた。
38 In his teaching he said to them, "Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces, 38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, 12:38 イエスはその教の中で言われた、「律法学者に気をつけなさい。彼らは長い衣を着て歩くことや、広場であいさつされることや、
39 and the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts: 39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: 12:39 また会堂の上席、宴会の上座を好んでいる。
40 those who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation." 40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. 12:40 また、やもめたちの家を食い倒し、見えのために長い祈をする。彼らはもっときびしいさばきを受けるであろう」。
41 Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much. 41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 12:41 イエスは、さいせん箱にむかってすわり、群衆がその箱に金を投げ入れる様子を見ておられた。多くの金持は、たくさんの金を投げ入れていた。
42 A poor widow came, and she cast in twosmall brass coins, which equal aquadrans coin. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 12:42 ところが、ひとりの貧しいやもめがきて、レプタ二つを入れた。それは一コドラントに当る。
43 He called his disciples to himself, and said to them, "Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury, 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 12:43 そこで、イエスは弟子たちを呼び寄せて言われた、「よく聞きなさい。あの貧しいやもめは、さいせん箱に投げ入れている人たちの中で、だれよりもたくさん入れたのだ。
44 for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on." 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. 12:44 みんなの者はありあまる中から投げ入れたが、あの婦人はその乏しい中から、あらゆる持ち物、その生活費全部を入れたからである」。

1 As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!" 1 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here! 13:1 イエスが宮から出て行かれるとき、弟子のひとりが言った、「先生、ごらんなさい。なんという見事な石、なんという立派な建物でしょう」。
2 Jesus said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down." 2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 13:2 イエスは言われた、「あなたは、これらの大きな建物をながめているのか。その石一つでもくずされないままで、他の石の上に残ることもなくなるであろう」。
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately, 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 13:3 またオリブ山で、宮にむかってすわっておられると、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネ、アンデレが、ひそかにお尋ねした。
4 "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?" 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 13:4 「わたしたちにお話しください。いつ、そんなことが起るのでしょうか。またそんなことがことごとく成就するような場合には、どんな前兆がありますか」。
5 Jesus, answering, began to tell them, "Be careful that no one leads you astray. 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 13:5 そこで、イエスは話しはじめられた、「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。
6 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he! ' and will lead many astray. 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 13:6 多くの者がわたしの名を名のって現れ、自分がそれだと言って、多くの人を惑わすであろう。
7 "When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don't be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 13:7 また、戦争と戦争のうわさとを聞くときにも、あわてるな。それは起らねばならないが、まだ終りではない。
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. 13:8 民は民に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がるであろう。またあちこちに地震があり、またききんが起るであろう。これらは産みの苦しみの初めである。
9 But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them. 9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 13:9 あなたがたは自分で気をつけていなさい。あなたがたは、わたしのために、衆議所に引きわたされ、会堂で打たれ、長官たちや王たちの前に立たされ、彼らに対してあかしをさせられるであろう。
10 The Good News must first be preached to all the nations. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 13:10 こうして、福音はまずすべての民に宣べ伝えられねばならない。
11 When they lead you away and deliver you up, don't be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 13:11 そして、人々があなたがたを連れて行って引きわたすとき、何を言おうかと、前もって心配するな。その場合、自分に示されることを語るがよい。語る者はあなたがた自身ではなくて、聖霊である。
12 "Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13:12 また兄弟は兄弟を、父は子を殺すために渡し、子は両親に逆らって立ち、彼らを殺させるであろう。
13 You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 13:13 また、あなたがたはわたしの名のゆえに、すべての人に憎まれるであろう。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる。
14 But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, 14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: 13:14 荒らす憎むべきものが、立ってはならぬ所に立つのを見たならば(読者よ、悟れ)、そのとき、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げよ。
15 and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house. 15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: 13:15 屋上にいる者は、下におりるな。また家から物を取り出そうとして内にはいるな。
16 Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak. 16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. 13:16 畑にいる者は、上着を取りにあとへもどるな。
17 But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days! 17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 13:17 その日には、身重の女と乳飲み子をもつ女とは、不幸である。
18 Pray that your flight won't be in the winter. 18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. 13:18 この事が冬おこらぬように祈れ。
19 For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. 19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. 13:19 その日には、神が万物を造られた創造の初めから現在に至るまで、かつてなく今後もないような患難が起るからである。
20 Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days. 20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. 13:20 もし主がその期間を縮めてくださらないなら、救われる者はひとりもないであろう。しかし、選ばれた選民のために、その期間を縮めてくださったのである。
21 Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there!' don't believe it. 21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: 13:21 そのとき、だれかがあなたがたに『見よ、ここにキリストがいる』、『見よ、あそこにいる』と言っても、それを信じるな。
22 For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. 22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 13:22 にせキリストたちや、にせ預言者たちが起って、しるしと奇跡とを行い、できれば、選民をも惑わそうとするであろう。
23 But you watch. "Behold, I have told you all things beforehand. 23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. 13:23 だから、気をつけていなさい。いっさいの事を、あなたがたに前もって言っておく。
24 But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, 24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 13:24 その日には、この患難の後、日は暗くなり、月はその光を放つことをやめ、
25 the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 13:25 星は空から落ち、天体は揺り動かされるであろう。
26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 13:26 そのとき、大いなる力と栄光とをもって、人の子が雲に乗って来るのを、人々は見るであろう。
27 Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 13:27 そのとき、彼は御使たちをつかわして、地のはてから天のはてまで、四方からその選民を呼び集めるであろう。
28 "Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near; 28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 13:28 いちじくの木からこの譬を学びなさい。その枝が柔らかになり、葉が出るようになると、夏の近いことがわかる。
29 even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors. 29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. 13:29 そのように、これらの事が起るのを見たならば、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。
30 Most certainly I say to you, thisgeneration will not pass away until all these things happen. 30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. 13:30 よく聞いておきなさい。これらの事が、ことごとく起るまでは、この時代は滅びることがない。
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 13:31 天地は滅びるであろう。しかしわたしの言葉は滅びることがない。
32 But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 13:32 その日、その時は、だれも知らない。天にいる御使たちも、また子も知らない、ただ父だけが知っておられる。
33 Watch, keep alert, and pray; for you don't know when the time is. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 13:33 気をつけて、目をさましていなさい。その時がいつであるか、あなたがたにはわからないからである。
34 "It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch. 34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 13:34 それはちょうど、旅に立つ人が家を出るに当り、その僕たちに、それぞれ仕事を割り当てて責任をもたせ、門番には目をさましておれと、命じるようなものである。
35 Watch therefore, for you don't know when the lord of the house is coming, whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning; 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 13:35 だから、目をさましていなさい。いつ、家の主人が帰って来るのか、夕方か、夜中か、にわとりの鳴くころか、明け方か、わからないからである。
36 lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping. 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 13:36 あるいは急に帰ってきて、あなたがたの眠っているところを見つけるかも知れない。
37 What I tell you, I tell all: Watch." 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. 13:37 目をさましていなさい。わたしがあなたがたに言うこの言葉は、すべての人々に言うのである」。

1 It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him. 1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. 14:1 さて、過越と除酵との祭の二日前になった。祭司長たちや律法学者たちは、策略をもってイエスを捕えたうえ、なんとかして殺そうと計っていた。
2 For they said, "Not during the feast, because there might be a riot of the people." 2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people. 14:2 彼らは、「祭の間はいけない。民衆が騒ぎを起すかも知れない」と言っていた。
3 While he was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster jar of ointment of pure nard—very costly. She broke the jar, and poured it over his head. 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. 14:3 イエスがベタニヤで、らい病人シモンの家にいて、食卓についておられたとき、ひとりの女が、非常に高価で純粋なナルドの香油が入れてある石膏のつぼを持ってきて、それをこわし、香油をイエスの頭に注ぎかけた。
4 But there were some who were indignant among themselves, saying, "Why has this ointment been wasted? 4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? 14:4 すると、ある人々が憤って互に言った、「なんのために香油をこんなにむだにするのか。
5 For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor." They grumbled against her. 5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. 14:5 この香油を三百デナリ以上にでも売って、貧しい人たちに施すことができたのに」。そして女をきびしくとがめた。
6 But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me. 6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. 14:6 するとイエスは言われた、「するままにさせておきなさい。なぜ女を困らせるのか。わたしによい事をしてくれたのだ。
7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me. 7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. 14:7 貧しい人たちはいつもあなたがたと一緒にいるから、したいときにはいつでも、よい事をしてやれる。しかし、わたしはあなたがたといつも一緒にいるわけではない。
8 She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for the burying. 8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. 14:8 この女はできる限りの事をしたのだ。すなわち、わたしのからだに油を注いで、あらかじめ葬りの用意をしてくれたのである。
9 Most certainly I tell you, wherever this Good News may be preached throughout the whole world, that which this woman has done will also be spoken of for a memorial of her." 9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. 14:9 よく聞きなさい。全世界のどこででも、福音が宣べ伝えられる所では、この女のした事も記念として語られるであろう」。
10 Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them. 10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. 14:10 ときに、十二弟子のひとりイスカリオテのユダは、イエスを祭司長たちに引きわたそうとして、彼らの所へ行った。
11 They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him. 11 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. 14:11 彼らはこれを聞いて喜び、金を与えることを約束した。そこでユダは、どうかしてイエスを引きわたそうと、機会をねらっていた。
12 On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and make ready that you may eat the Passover?" 12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 14:12 除酵祭の第一日、すなわち過越の小羊をほふる日に、弟子たちがイエスに尋ねた、「わたしたちは、過越の食事をなさる用意を、どこへ行ってしたらよいでしょうか」。
13 He sent two of his disciples, and said to them, "Go into the city, and there you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, 13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 14:13 そこで、イエスはふたりの弟子を使いに出して言われた、「市内に行くと、水がめを持っている男に出会うであろう。その人について行きなさい。
14 and wherever he enters in, tell the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"' 14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 14:14 そして、その人がはいって行く家の主人に言いなさい、『弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をする座敷はどこか、と先生が言っておられます』。
15 He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Make ready for us there." 15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. 14:15 するとその主人は、席を整えて用意された二階の広間を見せてくれるから、そこにわたしたちのために用意をしなさい」。
16 His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover. 16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. 14:16 弟子たちは出かけて市内に行って見ると、イエスが言われたとおりであったので、過越の食事の用意をした。
17 When it was evening he came with the twelve. 17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. 14:17 夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒にそこに行かれた。
18 As they sat and were eating, Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me—he who eats with me." 18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. 14:18 そして、一同が席について食事をしているとき言われた、「特にあなたがたに言っておくが、あなたがたの中のひとりで、わたしと一緒に食事をしている者が、わたしを裏切ろうとしている」。
19 They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, "Surely not I?" And another said, "Surely not I?" 19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? 14:19 弟子たちは心配して、ひとりびとり「まさか、わたしではないでしょう」と言い出した。
20 He answered them, "It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish. 20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. 14:20 イエスは言われた、「十二人の中のひとりで、わたしと一緒に同じ鉢にパンをひたしている者が、それである。
21 For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born." 21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. 14:21 たしかに人の子は、自分について書いてあるとおりに去って行く。しかし、人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである。その人は生れなかった方が、彼のためによかったであろう」。
22 As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said, "Take, eat. This is my body." 22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. 14:22 一同が食事をしているとき、イエスはパンを取り、祝福してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「取れ、これはわたしのからだである」。
23 He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it. 23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. 14:23 また杯を取り、感謝して彼らに与えられると、一同はその杯から飲んだ。
24 He said to them, "This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many. 24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. 14:24 イエスはまた言われた、「これは、多くの人のために流すわたしの契約の血である。
25 Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in the Kingdom of God." 25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. 14:25 あなたがたによく言っておく。神の国で新しく飲むその日までは、わたしは決して二度と、ぶどうの実から造ったものを飲むことをしない」。
26 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 14:26 彼らは、さんびを歌った後、オリブ山へ出かけて行った。
27 Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.' 27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. 14:27 そのとき、イエスは弟子たちに言われた、「あなたがたは皆、わたしにつまずくであろう。『わたしは羊飼を打つ。そして、羊は散らされるであろう』と書いてあるからである。
28 However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee." 28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. 14:28 しかしわたしは、よみがえってから、あなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行くであろう」。
29 But Peter said to him, "Although all will be offended, yet I will not." 29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. 14:29 するとペテロはイエスに言った、「たとい、みんなの者がつまずいても、わたしはつまずきません」。
30 Jesus said to him, "Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." 30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. 14:30 イエスは言われた、「あなたによく言っておく。きょう、今夜、にわとりが二度鳴く前に、そう言うあなたが、三度わたしを知らないと言うだろう」。
31 But he spoke all the more, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you." They all said the same thing. 31 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all. 14:31 ペテロは力をこめて言った、「たといあなたと一緒に死なねばならなくなっても、あなたを知らないなどとは、決して申しません」。みんなの者もまた、同じようなことを言った。
32 They came to a place which was named Gethsemane. He said to his disciples, "Sit here, while I pray." 32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. 14:32 さて、一同はゲツセマネという所にきた。そしてイエスは弟子たちに言われた、「わたしが祈っている間、ここにすわっていなさい」。
33 He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed. 33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 14:33 そしてペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネを一緒に連れて行かれたが、恐れおののき、また悩みはじめて、彼らに言われた、
34 He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch." 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. 14:34 「わたしは悲しみのあまり死ぬほどである。ここに待っていて、目をさましていなさい」。
35 He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him. 35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 14:35 そして少し進んで行き、地にひれ伏し、もしできることなら、この時を過ぎ去らせてくださるようにと祈りつづけ、そして言われた、
36 He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire." 36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. 14:36 「アバ、父よ、あなたには、できないことはありません。どうか、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの思いではなく、みこころのままになさってください」。
37 He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn't you watch one hour? 37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? 14:37 それから、きてごらんになると、弟子たちが眠っていたので、ペテロに言われた、「シモンよ、眠っているのか、ひと時も目をさましていることができなかったのか。
38 Watch and pray, that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. 14:38 誘惑に陥らないように、目をさまして祈っていなさい。心は熱しているが、肉体が弱いのである」。
39 Again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words. 39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. 14:39 また離れて行って同じ言葉で祈られた。
40 Again he returned, and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they didn't know what to answer him. 40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. 14:40 またきてごらんになると、彼らはまだ眠っていた。その目が重くなっていたのである。そして、彼らはどうお答えしてよいか、わからなかった。
41 He came the third time, and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 14:41 三度目にきて言われた、「まだ眠っているのか、休んでいるのか。もうそれでよかろう。時がきた。見よ、人の子は罪人らの手に渡されるのだ。
42 Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand." 42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. 14:42 立て、さあ行こう。見よ、わたしを裏切る者が近づいてきた」。
43 Immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, came—and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders. 43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 14:43 そしてすぐ、イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、十二弟子のひとりのユダが進みよってきた。また祭司長、律法学者、長老たちから送られた群衆も、剣と棒とを持って彼についてきた。
44 Now he who betrayed him had given them a sign, saying, "Whoever I will kiss, that is he. Seize him, and lead him away safely." 44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. 14:44 イエスを裏切る者は、あらかじめ彼らに合図をしておいた、「わたしの接吻する者が、その人だ。その人をつかまえて、まちがいなく引っぱって行け」。
45 When he had come, immediately he came to him, and said, "Rabbi! Rabbi!" and kissed him. 45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him. 14:45 彼は来るとすぐ、イエスに近寄り、「先生」と言って接吻した。
46 They laid their hands on him, and seized him. 46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him. 14:46 人々はイエスに手をかけてつかまえた。
47 But a certain one of those who stood by drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 14:47 すると、イエスのそばに立っていた者のひとりが、剣を抜いて大祭司の僕に切りかかり、その片耳を切り落した。
48 Jesus answered them, "Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me? 48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? 14:48 イエスは彼らにむかって言われた、「あなたがたは強盗にむかうように、剣や棒を持ってわたしを捕えにきたのか。
49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn't arrest me. But this is so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled." 49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled. 14:49 わたしは毎日あなたがたと一緒に宮にいて教えていたのに、わたしをつかまえはしなかった。しかし聖書の言葉は成就されねばならない」。
50 They all left him, and fled. 50 And they all forsook him, and fled. 14:50 弟子たちは皆イエスを見捨てて逃げ去った。
51 A certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. The young men grabbed him, 51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: 14:51 ときに、ある若者が身に亜麻布をまとって、イエスのあとについて行ったが、人々が彼をつかまえようとしたので、
52 but he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. 52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. 14:52 その亜麻布を捨てて、裸で逃げて行った。
53 They led Jesus away to the high priest. All the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes came together with him. 53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. 14:53 それから、イエスを大祭司のところに連れて行くと、祭司長、長老、律法学者たちがみな集まってきた。
54 Peter had followed him from a distance, until he came into the court of the high priest. He was sitting with the officers, and warming himself in the light of the fire. 54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. 14:54 ペテロは遠くからイエスについて行って、大祭司の中庭まではいり込み、その下役どもにまじってすわり、火にあたっていた。
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witnesses against Jesus to put him to death, and found none. 55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. 14:55 さて、祭司長たちと全議会とは、イエスを死刑にするために、イエスに不利な証拠を見つけようとしたが、得られなかった。
56 For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony didn't agree with each other. 56 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. 14:56 多くの者がイエスに対して偽証を立てたが、その証言が合わなかったからである。
57 Some stood up, and gave false testimony against him, saying, 57 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, 14:57 ついに、ある人々が立ちあがり、イエスに対して偽証を立てて言った、
58 "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'" 58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. 14:58 「わたしたちはこの人が『わたしは手で造ったこの神殿を打ちこわし、三日の後に手で造られない別の神殿を建てるのだ』と言うのを聞きました」。
59 Even so, their testimony did not agree. 59 But neither so did their witness agree together. 14:59 しかし、このような証言も互に合わなかった。
60 The high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer? What is it which these testify against you?" 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 14:60 そこで大祭司が立ちあがって、まん中に進み、イエスに聞きただして言った、「何も答えないのか。これらの人々があなたに対して不利な証言を申し立てているが、どうなのか」。
61 But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" 61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 14:61 しかし、イエスは黙っていて、何もお答えにならなかった。大祭司は再び聞きただして言った、「あなたは、ほむべき者の子、キリストであるか」。
62 Jesus said, "I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky." 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 14:62 イエスは言われた、「わたしがそれである。あなたがたは人の子が力ある者の右に座し、天の雲に乗って来るのを見るであろう」。
63 The high priest tore his clothes, and said, "What further need have we of witnesses? 63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 14:63 すると、大祭司はその衣を引き裂いて言った、「どうして、これ以上、証人の必要があろう。
64 You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?" They all condemned him to be worthy of death. 64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. 14:64 あなたがたはこのけがし言を聞いた。あなたがたの意見はどうか」。すると、彼らは皆、イエスを死に当るものと断定した。
65 Some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to beat him with fists, and to tell him, "Prophesy!" The officers struck him with the palms of their hands. 65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands. 14:65 そして、ある者はイエスにつばきをかけ、目隠しをし、こぶしでたたいて、「言いあててみよ」と言いはじめた。また下役どもはイエスを引きとって、手のひらでたたいた。
66 As Peter was in the courtyard below, one of the maids of the high priest came, 66 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: 14:66 ペテロは下で中庭にいたが、大祭司の女中のひとりがきて、
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and said, "You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus!" 67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 14:67 ペテロが火にあたっているのを見ると、彼を見つめて、「あなたもあのナザレ人イエスと一緒だった」と言った。
68 But he denied it, saying, "I neither know, nor understand what you are saying." He went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed. 68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. 14:68 するとペテロはそれを打ち消して、「わたしは知らない。あなたの言うことがなんの事か、わからない」と言って、庭口の方に出て行った。
69 The maid saw him, and began again to tell those who stood by, "This is one of them." 69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 14:69 ところが、先の女中が彼を見て、そばに立っていた人々に、またもや「この人はあの仲間のひとりです」と言いだした。
70 But he again denied it. After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, "You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it." 70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. 14:70 ペテロは再びそれを打ち消した。しばらくして、そばに立っていた人たちがまたペテロに言った、「確かにあなたは彼らの仲間だ。あなたもガリラヤ人だから」。
71 But he began to curse, and to swear, "I don't know this man of whom you speak!" 71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak. 14:71 しかし、彼は、「あなたがたの話しているその人のことは何も知らない」と言い張って、激しく誓いはじめた。
72 The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him, "Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." When he thought about that, he wept. 72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept. 14:72 するとすぐ、にわとりが二度目に鳴いた。ペテロは、「にわとりが二度鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われたイエスの言葉を思い出し、そして思いかえして泣きつづけた。

1 Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate. 1 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 15:1 夜が明けるとすぐ、祭司長たちは長老、律法学者たち、および全議会と協議をこらした末、イエスを縛って引き出し、ピラトに渡した。
2 Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" He answered, "So you say." 2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. 15:2 ピラトはイエスに尋ねた、「あなたがユダヤ人の王であるか」。イエスは、「そのとおりである」とお答えになった。
3 The chief priests accused him of many things. 3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. 15:3 そこで祭司長たちは、イエスのことをいろいろと訴えた。
4 Pilate again asked him, "Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!" 4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 15:4 ピラトはもう一度イエスに尋ねた、「何も答えないのか。見よ、あなたに対してあんなにまで次々に訴えているではないか」。
5 But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled. 5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 15:5 しかし、イエスはピラトが不思議に思うほどに、もう何もお答えにならなかった。
6 Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him. 6 Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 15:6 さて、祭のたびごとに、ピラトは人々が願い出る囚人ひとりを、ゆるしてやることにしていた。
7 There was one called Barabbas, bound with those who had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 15:7 ここに、暴動を起し人殺しをしてつながれていた暴徒の中に、バラバという者がいた。
8 The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them. 8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 15:8 群衆が押しかけてきて、いつものとおりにしてほしいと要求しはじめたので、
9 Pilate answered them, saying, "Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?" 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 15:9 ピラトは彼らにむかって、「おまえたちはユダヤ人の王をゆるしてもらいたいのか」と言った。
10 For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up. 10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. 15:10 それは、祭司長たちがイエスを引きわたしたのは、ねたみのためであることが、ピラトにわかっていたからである。
11 But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead. 11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 15:11 しかし祭司長たちは、バラバの方をゆるしてもらうように、群衆を煽動した。
12 Pilate again asked them, "What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?" 12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 15:12 そこでピラトはまた彼らに言った、「それでは、おまえたちがユダヤ人の王と呼んでいるあの人は、どうしたらよいか」。
13 They cried out again, "Crucify him!" 13 And they cried out again, Crucify him. 15:13 彼らは、また叫んだ、「十字架につけよ」。
14 Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has he done?" But they cried out exceedingly, "Crucify him!" 14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. 15:14 ピラトは言った、「あの人は、いったい、どんな悪事をしたのか」。すると、彼らは一そう激しく叫んで、「十字架につけよ」と言った。
15 Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified. 15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. 15:15 それで、ピラトは群衆を満足させようと思って、バラバをゆるしてやり、イエスをむち打ったのち、十字架につけるために引きわたした。
16 The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort. 16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 15:16 兵士たちはイエスを、邸宅、すなわち総督官邸の内に連れて行き、全部隊を呼び集めた。
17 They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 15:17 そしてイエスに紫の衣を着せ、いばらの冠を編んでかぶらせ、
18 They began to salute him, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 15:18 「ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい」と言って敬礼をしはじめた。
19 They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him. 19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 15:19 また、葦の棒でその頭をたたき、つばきをかけ、ひざまずいて拝んだりした。
20 When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 15:20 こうして、イエスを嘲弄したあげく、紫の衣をはぎとり、元の上着を着せた。それから、彼らはイエスを十字架につけるために引き出した。
21 They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross. 21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. 15:21 そこへ、アレキサンデルとルポスとの父シモンというクレネ人が、郊外からきて通りかかったので、人々はイエスの十字架を無理に負わせた。
22 They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, "The place of a skull." 22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. 15:22 そしてイエスをゴルゴタ、その意味は、されこうべ、という所に連れて行った。
23 They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn't take it. 23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. 15:23 そしてイエスに、没薬をまぜたぶどう酒をさし出したが、お受けにならなかった。
24 Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take. 24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. 15:24 それから、イエスを十字架につけた。そしてくじを引いて、だれが何を取るかを定めたうえ、イエスの着物を分けた。
25 It wasthe third hour, and they crucified him. 25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. 15:25 イエスを十字架につけたのは、朝の九時ごろであった。
26 The superscription of his accusation was written over him, "THE KING OF THE JEWS." 26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 15:26 イエスの罪状書きには「ユダヤ人の王」と、しるしてあった。
27 With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left. 27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. 15:27 また、イエスと共にふたりの強盗を、ひとりを右に、ひとりを左に、十字架につけた。〔
28 The Scripture was fulfilled, which says, "He was numbered with transgressors." 28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. 15:28 こうして「彼は罪人たちのひとりに数えられた」と書いてある言葉が成就したのである。〕
29 Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, 29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, 15:29 そこを通りかかった者たちは、頭を振りながら、イエスをののしって言った、「ああ、神殿を打ちこわして三日のうちに建てる者よ、
30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!" 30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross. 15:30 十字架からおりてきて自分を救え」。
31 Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, "He saved others. He can't save himself. 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 15:31 祭司長たちも同じように、律法学者たちと一緒になって、かわるがわる嘲弄して言った、「他人を救ったが、自分自身を救うことができない。
32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believehim. " Those who were crucified with him insulted him. 32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. 15:32 イスラエルの王キリスト、いま十字架からおりてみるがよい。それを見たら信じよう」。また、一緒に十字架につけられた者たちも、イエスをののしった。
33 When thesixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until theninth hour. 33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 15:33 昼の十二時になると、全地は暗くなって、三時に及んだ。
34 At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is, being interpreted, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 15:34 そして三時に、イエスは大声で、「エロイ、エロイ、ラマ、サバクタニ」と叫ばれた。それは「わが神、わが神、どうしてわたしをお見捨てになったのですか」という意味である。
35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, he is calling Elijah." 35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. 15:35 すると、そばに立っていたある人々が、これを聞いて言った、「そら、エリヤを呼んでいる」。
36 One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, "Let him be. Let's see whether Elijah comes to take him down." 36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. 15:36 ひとりの人が走って行き、海綿に酢いぶどう酒を含ませて葦の棒につけ、イエスに飲ませようとして言った、「待て、エリヤが彼をおろしに来るかどうか、見ていよう」。
37 Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit. 37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. 15:37 イエスは声高く叫んで、ついに息をひきとられた。
38 The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. 38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. 15:38 そのとき、神殿の幕が上から下まで真二つに裂けた。
39 When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!" 39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. 15:39 イエスにむかって立っていた百卒長は、このようにして息をひきとられたのを見て言った、「まことに、この人は神の子であった」。
40 There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 15:40 また、遠くの方から見ている女たちもいた。その中には、マグダラのマリヤ、小ヤコブとヨセとの母マリヤ、またサロメがいた。
41 who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem. 41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. 15:41 彼らはイエスがガリラヤにおられたとき、そのあとに従って仕えた女たちであった。なおそのほか、イエスと共にエルサレムに上ってきた多くの女たちもいた。
42 When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 15:42 さて、すでに夕がたになったが、その日は準備の日、すなわち安息日の前日であったので、
43 Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus' body. 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counseller, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. 15:43 アリマタヤのヨセフが大胆にもピラトの所へ行き、イエスのからだの引取りかたを願った。彼は地位の高い議員であって、彼自身、神の国を待ち望んでいる人であった。
44 Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long. 44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. 15:44 ピラトは、イエスがもはや死んでしまったのかと不審に思い、百卒長を呼んで、もう死んだのかと尋ねた。
45 When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. 45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 15:45 そして、百卒長から確かめた上、死体をヨセフに渡した。
46 He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. 46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. 15:46 そこで、ヨセフは亜麻布を買い求め、イエスをとりおろして、その亜麻布に包み、岩を掘って造った墓に納め、墓の入口に石をころがしておいた。
47 Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid. 15:47 マグダラのマリヤとヨセの母マリヤとは、イエスが納められた場所を見とどけた。

1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him. 1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 16:1 さて、安息日が終ったので、マグダラのマリヤとヤコブの母マリヤとサロメとが、行ってイエスに塗るために、香料を買い求めた。
2 Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 16:2 そして週の初めの日に、早朝、日の出のころ墓に行った。
3 They were saying among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" 3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 16:3 そして、彼らは「だれが、わたしたちのために、墓の入口から石をころがしてくれるのでしょうか」と話し合っていた。
4 for it was very big. Looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back. 4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. 16:4 ところが、目をあげて見ると、石はすでにころがしてあった。この石は非常に大きかった。
5 Entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were amazed. 5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 16:5 墓の中にはいると、右手に真白な長い衣を着た若者がすわっているのを見て、非常に驚いた。
6 He said to them, "Don't be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him! 6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 16:6 するとこの若者は言った、「驚くことはない。あなたがたは十字架につけられたナザレ人イエスを捜しているのであろうが、イエスはよみがえって、ここにはおられない。ごらんなさい、ここがお納めした場所である。
7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He goes before you into Galilee. There you will see him, as he said to you.'" 7 But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. 16:7 今から弟子たちとペテロとの所へ行って、こう伝えなさい。イエスはあなたがたより先にガリラヤへ行かれる。かねて、あなたがたに言われたとおり、そこでお会いできるであろう、と」。
8 They went out, and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had come on them. They said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid. 8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. 16:8 女たちはおののき恐れながら、墓から出て逃げ去った。そして、人には何も言わなかった。恐ろしかったからである。〔
9 Now when he had risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 16:9 週の初めの日の朝早く、イエスはよみがえって、まずマグダラのマリヤに御自身をあらわされた。イエスは以前に、この女から七つの悪霊を追い出されたことがある。
10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 16:10 マリヤは、イエスと一緒にいた人々が泣き悲しんでいる所に行って、それを知らせた。
11 When they heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, they disbelieved. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 16:11 彼らは、イエスが生きておられる事と、彼女に御自身をあらわされた事とを聞いたが、信じなかった。
12 After these things he was revealed in another form to two of them, as they walked, on their way into the country. 12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 16:12 この後、そのうちのふたりが、いなかの方へ歩いていると、イエスはちがった姿で御自身をあらわされた。
13 They went away and told it to the rest. They didn't believe them, either. 13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 16:13 このふたりも、ほかの人々の所に行って話したが、彼らはその話を信じなかった。
14 Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn't believe those who had seen him after he had risen. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 16:14 その後、イエスは十一弟子が食卓についているところに現れ、彼らの不信仰と、心のかたくななことをお責めになった。彼らは、よみがえられたイエスを見た人々の言うことを、信じなかったからである。
15 He said to them, "Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16:15 そして彼らに言われた、「全世界に出て行って、すべての造られたものに福音を宣べ伝えよ。
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 16:16 信じてバプテスマを受ける者は救われる。しかし、不信仰の者は罪に定められる。
17 These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 16:17 信じる者には、このようなしるしが伴う。すなわち、彼らはわたしの名で悪霊を追い出し、新しい言葉を語り、
18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 16:18 へびをつかむであろう。また、毒を飲んでも、決して害を受けない。病人に手をおけば、いやされる」。
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 16:19 主イエスは彼らに語り終ってから、天にあげられ、神の右にすわられた。
20 They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. 16:20 弟子たちは出て行って、至る所で福音を宣べ伝えた。主も彼らと共に働き、御言に伴うしるしをもって、その確かなことをお示しになった。〕
