1:1 How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces is become tributary! 1 How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary! 1 ああ、むかしは、民の満ちみちていたこの都、国々の民のうちで大いなる者であったこの町、今は寂しいさまで座し、やもめのようになった。もろもろの町のうちで女王であった者、今は奴隷となった。

1:12 Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look, and see if there be any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, With which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. 12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. 12 「すべて道行く人よ、あなたがたはなんとも思わないのか。主がその激しい怒りの日にわたしを悩まして、わたしにくだされた苦しみのような苦しみが、また世にあるだろうか、尋ねて見よ。

1:15 The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men in the midst of me; He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men: The Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah. 15 The LORD hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the LORD hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress. 15 主はわたしのうちにあるすべての勇士を無視し、聖会を召集して、わたしを攻め、わが若き人々を打ち滅ぼされた。主は酒ぶねを踏むように、ユダの娘なるおとめを踏みつけられた。
1:16 For these things I weep; my eye, my eye runs down with water; Because the comforter who should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy has prevailed. 16 For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed. 16 このために、わたしは泣き悲しみ、わたしの目は涙であふれる。わたしを慰める者、わたしを勇気づける者がわたしから遠く離れたからである。わが子らは敵が勝ったために、わびしい者となった」。
1:17 Zion spreads forth her hands; there is none to comfort her; Yahweh has commanded concerning Jacob, that those who are around him should be his adversaries: Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing. 17 Zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD hath commanded concerning Jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them. 17 シオンは手を伸ばしても、これを慰める者はひとりもない。ヤコブについては、主は命じて、その周囲の者を、これがあだとせられた。エルサレムは彼らの中にあって、汚れた物のようになった。
1:18 Yahweh is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: Please hear all you peoples, and see my sorrow: My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity. 18 The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity. 18 「主は正しい、わたしは、み言葉にそむいた。すべての民よ、聞け、わが苦しみを顧みよ。わがおとめらも、わが若人らも捕われて行った。

1:20 See, Yahweh; for I am in distress; my heart is troubled; My heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: Abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death. 20 Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death. 20 主よ、顧みてください、わたしは悩み、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが心臓はわたしの内に転倒しています。わたしは、はなはだしくそむいたからです。外にはつるぎがあって、わが子を奪い、家の内には死のようなものがある。

2:1 He has cast down from heaven to the earth the beauty of Israel, And hasn’t remembered his footstool in the day of his anger. 1 How hath the LORD covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger! 1 ああ、主は怒りを起し、黒雲をもってシオンの娘をおおわれた。主はイスラエルの栄光を天から地に投げ落し、その怒りの日に、おのれの足台を心にとめられなかった。
2:2 The Lord has swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and has not pitied: He has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; He has brought them down to the ground; he has profaned the kingdom and its princes. 2 The LORD hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof. 2 主はヤコブのすべてのすまいを滅ぼして、あわれまず、その怒りによって、ユダの娘のとりでをこわし、これを地に倒して、その国とそのつかさたちをはずかしめられた。
2:3 He has cut off in fierce anger all the horn of Israel; He has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy: He has burned up Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours all around. 3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about. 3 主は激しい怒りをもって、イスラエルのすべての力を断ち、敵の前で、おのれの右の手を引きもどし、周囲を焼きつくす燃える火のように、ヤコブを焼かれた。
2:4 He has bent his bow like an enemy, he has stood with his right hand as an adversary, Has killed all that were pleasant to the eye: In the tent of the daughter of Zion he has poured out his wrath like fire. 4 He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire. 4 主は敵のように弓を張り、あだのように右の手を伸べて立ち、シオンの娘の天幕におるわれわれの目に誇る者を、ことごとく殺し、火のようにその怒りを注がれた。
2:5 The Lord is become as an enemy, he has swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her palaces, he has destroyed his strongholds; He has multiplied in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation. 5 The LORD was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation. 5 主は敵のようになって、イスラエルを滅ぼし、そのすべての宮殿を滅ぼし、そのとりでをこわし、ユダの娘の上に憂いと悲しみとを増し加えられた。
2:6 He has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden; he has destroyed his place of assembly: Yahweh has caused solemn assembly and Sabbath to be forgotten in Zion, Has despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest. 6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest. 6 主は園の小屋のようにおのれの幕屋を倒し、その祭の場所をこわされた。主は祭と安息日とをシオンに忘れさせ、激しい怒りによって、王と祭司とを捨てられた。
2:7 The Lord has cast off his altar, he has abhorred his sanctuary; He has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces: They have made a noise in the house of Yahweh, as in the day of a solemn assembly. 7 The LORD hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast. 7 主はその祭壇を忌み、その聖所をきらって、もろもろの宮殿の石がきを敵の手に渡された。彼らは祭の日のように、主の宮で声をあげた。
2:8 Yahweh has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion; He has stretched out the line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying; He has made the rampart and wall to lament; they languish together. 8 The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together. 8 主はシオンの娘の城壁を破壊しようと思い定めて、なわを張り、打ちこわして、その手をひかず、城壁と石がきとを悲しませられた。これらは共に衰える。
2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he has destroyed and broken her bars: Her king and her princes are among the nations where the law is not; Yes, her prophets find no vision from Yahweh. 9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD. 9 その門は地にうずもれ、主はその貫の木をこわし砕かれた。その王と君たちはもろもろの国民の中におり、もはや律法はなく、またその預言者は主から幻を得ない。
2:10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground, they keep silence; They have cast up dust on their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: The virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground. 10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground. 10 シオンの娘の長老たちは地に座して黙し、頭にちりをかぶり、身に荒布をまとった。エルサレムのおとめたちはこうべを地にたれた。
2:11 My eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured on the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city. 11 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city. 11 わが目は涙のためにつぶれ、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが肝はわが民の娘の滅びのために、地に注ぎ出される。幼な子や乳のみ子が町のちまたに息も絶えようとしているからである。
2:12 They tell their mothers, Where is grain and wine? When they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, When their soul is poured out into their mothers’ bosom. 12 They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom. 12 彼らが、傷ついた者のように町のちまたで息も絶えようとするとき、その母のふところにその命を注ぎ出そうとするとき、母にむかって、「パンとぶどう酒とはどこにありますか」と叫ぶ。
2:13 What shall I testify to you? what shall I liken to you, daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare to you, that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion? For your breach is great like the sea: who can heal you? 13 What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee? 13 エルサレムの娘よ、わたしは何をあなたに言い、何にあなたを比べることができようか。シオンの娘なるおとめよ、わたしは何をもってあなたになぞらえて、あなたを慰めることができようか。あなたの破れは海のように大きい、だれがあなたをいやすことができようか。
2:14 Your prophets have seen for you false and foolish visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, to bring back your captivity, but have seen for you false oracles and causes of banishment. 14 Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment. 14 あなたの預言者たちはあなたのために人を欺く偽りの幻を見た。彼らはあなたの不義をあらわして捕われを免れさせようとはせず、あなたのために人を迷わす偽りの託宣を見た。
2:15 All that pass by clap their hands at you. They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men called The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? 15 All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth? 15 すべて道行く人は、あなたにむかって手を打ち、エルサレムの娘にむかって、あざ笑い、かつ頭を振って言う、「麗しさのきわみ、全地の喜びととなえられた町はこれなのか」と。
2:16 All your enemies have opened their mouth wide against you; They hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed her up; Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it. 16 All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it. 16 あなたのもろもろの敵は、あなたをののしり、あざ笑い、歯がみして言う、「われわれはこれを滅ぼした、ああ、これはわれわれが望んだ日だ、今われわれはこれにあい、これを見た」と。
2:17 Yahweh has done that which he purposed; he has fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old; He has thrown down, and has not pitied: He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you; he has exalted the horn of your adversaries. 17 The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries. 17 主はその計画されたことを行い、警告されたことをなし遂げ、いにしえから命じておかれたように、滅ぼして、あわれむことをせず、あなたについて敵を喜ばせ、あなたのあだの力を高められた。

2:19 Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord: Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children, that faint for hunger at the head of every street. 19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street. 19 夜、初更に起きて叫べ。主の前にあなたの心を水のように注ぎ出せ。町のかどで、飢えて息も絶えようとする幼な子の命のために、主にむかって両手をあげよ。
2:20 Look, Yahweh, and see to whom you have done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord? 20 Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord? 20 主よ、みそなわして、顧みてください。あなたはだれにむかってこのように行われたのですか。女は自分の産んだ子、その大事に育てた幼な子を食べるでしょうか。祭司と預言者が主の聖所で殺されていいでしょうか。
2:21 The youth and the old man lie on the ground in the streets; My virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword: You have killed them in the day of your anger; you have slaughtered, and not pitied. 21 The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied. 21 老いも若きも、ちまたのちりに伏し、わがおとめも、若人も、つるぎで倒されてしまった。あなたは、その怒りの日にこれを殺し、これをほふって、あわれむことをされなかった。
2:22 You have called, as in the day of a solemn assembly, my terrors on every side; There was none that escaped or remained in the day of Yahweh’s anger: Those that I have dandled and brought up has my enemy consumed. 22 Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed. 22 あなたは、わたしの恐れるものを、祭の日のように四方から呼び集められた。主の怒りの日には、のがれた者も残った者もなかった。わたしが、いだき育てた者をわたしの敵は滅ぼし尽した。

3:6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead. 6 He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old. 6 遠い昔に死んだ者のように、暗い所に住まわせられた。
3:7 He has walled me about, that I can’t go forth; he has made my chain heavy. 7 He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy. 7 彼はわたしのまわりに、かきをめぐらして、出ることのできないようにし、重い鎖でわたしをつながれた。
3:8 Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer. 8 Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. 8 わたしは叫んで助けを求めたが、彼はわたしの祈をしりぞけ、

3:13 He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys. 13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. 13 彼はその箙の矢をわたしの心臓に打ち込まれた。
3:14 I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day. 14 I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day. 14 わたしはすべての民の物笑いとなり、ひねもす彼らの歌となった。
3:15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has sated me with wormwood. 15 He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. 15 彼はわたしを苦い物で飽かせ、にがよもぎをわたしに飲ませられた。
3:16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes. 16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. 16 彼は小石をもって、わたしの歯を砕き、灰の中にわたしをころがされた。
3:17 You have removed my soul far off from peace; I forgot prosperity. 17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. 17 わが魂は平和を失い、わたしは幸福を忘れた。
3:18 I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh. 18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: 18 そこでわたしは言った、「わが栄えはうせ去り、わたしが主に望むところのものもうせ去った」と。
3:19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. 19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. 19 どうか、わが悩みと苦しみ、にがよもぎと胆汁とを心に留めてください。
3:20 My soul still remembers them, and is bowed down within me. 20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. 20 わが魂は絶えずこれを思って、わがうちにうなだれる。
3:21 This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope. 21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 21 しかし、わたしはこの事を心に思い起す。それゆえ、わたしは望みをいだく。
3:22 It is of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. 22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 22 主のいつくしみは絶えることがなく、そのあわれみは尽きることがない。
3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 23 これは朝ごとに新しく、あなたの真実は大きい。
3:24 Yahweh is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 24 わが魂は言う、「主はわたしの受くべき分である、それゆえ、わたしは彼を待ち望む」と。
3:25 Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him. 25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 25 主はおのれを待ち望む者と、おのれを尋ね求める者にむかって恵みふかい。
3:26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh. 26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. 26 主の救を静かに待ち望むことは、良いことである。
3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. 27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth. 27 人が若い時にくびきを負うことは、良いことである。
3:28 Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he has laid it on him. 28 He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. 28 主がこれを負わせられるとき、ひとりすわって黙しているがよい。
3:29 Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope. 29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. 29 口をちりにつけよ、あるいはなお望みがあるであろう。
3:30 Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled full with reproach. 30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. 30 おのれを撃つ者にほおを向け、満ち足りるまでに、はずかしめを受けよ。
3:31 For the Lord will not cast off forever. 31 For the LORD will not cast off for ever: 31 主はとこしえにこのような人を捨てられないからである。
3:32 For though he cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses. 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 32 彼は悩みを与えられるが、そのいつくしみが豊かなので、またあわれみをたれられる。

3:36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord doesn’t approve. 36 To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not. 36 人の訴えをくつがえすことは、主のよみせられないことである。
3:37 Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it? 37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? 37 主が命じられたのでなければ、だれが命じて、その事の成ったことがあるか。
3:38 Doesn’t evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High? 38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? 38 災もさいわいも、いと高き者の口から出るではないか。
3:39 Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 39 生ける人はどうしてつぶやかねばならないのか、人は自分の罪の罰せられるのを、つぶやくことができようか。
3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh. 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. 40 われわれは、自分の行いを調べ、かつ省みて、主に帰ろう。
3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens. 41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. 41 われわれは天にいます神にむかって、手と共に心をもあげよう。
3:42 We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned. 42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. 42 「わたしたちは罪を犯し、そむきました、あなたはおゆるしになりませんでした。
3:43 You have covered with anger and pursued us; you have killed, you have not pitied. 43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. 43 あなたは怒りをもってご自分をおおい、わたしたちを追い攻め、殺して、あわれまず、
3:44 You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through. 44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. 44 また雲をもってご自分をおおい、祈を通じないようにし、
3:45 You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples. 45 Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. 45 もろもろの民の中に、わたしたちをちりあくたとなさいました。
3:46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us. 46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. 46 敵はみなわたしたちをののしり、
3:47 Fear and the pit are come on us, devastation and destruction. 47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. 47 恐れと落し穴と、荒廃と滅亡とが、わたしたちに臨みました。
3:48 My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 48 わが民の娘の滅びによって、わたしの目には涙の川が流れています。

3:50 Until Yahweh look down, and see from heaven. 50 Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven. 50 主が天から見おろして、顧みられる時にまで及ぶでしょう。
3:51 My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city. 51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city. 51 わが目はわが町のすべての娘の最期のゆえに、わたしを痛ませます。
3:52 They have chased me sore like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause. 52 Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause. 52 ゆえなくわたしに敵する者どもによって、わたしは鳥のように追われました。

3:56 You heard my voice; don’t hide your ear at my breathing, at my cry. 56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry. 56 あなたはわが声を聞かれました、『わが嘆きと叫びに耳をふさがないでください』。
3:57 You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, Don’t be afraid. 57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. 57 わたしがあなたに呼ばわったとき、あなたは近寄って、『恐れるな』と言われました。
3:58 Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life. 58 O LORD, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life. 58 主よ、あなたはわが訴えを取りあげて、わたしの命をあがなわれました。
3:59 Yahweh, you have seen my wrong. Judge my cause. 59 O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause. 59 主よ、あなたはわたしがこうむった不義をごらんになりました。わたしの訴えをおさばきください。
3:60 You have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me. 60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me. 60 あなたはわたしに対する彼らの報復と、陰謀とを、ことごとくごらんになりました。
3:61 You have heard their reproach, Yahweh, and all their devices against me, 61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me; 61 主よ、あなたはわたしに対する彼らのそしりと、陰謀とを、ことごとく聞かれました。
3:62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day. 62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day. 62 立ってわたしに逆らう者どものくちびると、その思いは、ひねもすわたしを攻めています。
3:63 You see their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song. 63 Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick. 63 どうか、彼らのすわるをも、立つをも、みそなわしてください。わたしは彼らの歌となっています。

3:65 You will give them hardness of heart, your curse to them. 65 Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. 65 彼らの心をかたくなにし、あなたののろいを彼らに注いでください。
3:66 You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Yahweh. 66 Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD. 66 主よ、怒りをもって彼らを追い、天が下から彼らを滅ぼしてください」。

4:1 How the stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the head of every street. 1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street. 1 ああ、黄金は光を失い、純金は色を変じ、聖所の石はすべてのちまたのかどに投げ捨てられた。
4:2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, How are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! 2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! 2 ああ、精金にも比すべきシオンのいとし子らは、陶器師の手のわざである土の器のようにみなされる。
4:3 Even the jackals draw out the breast, they nurse their young ones: The daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. 3 Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. 3 山犬さえも乳ぶさをたれて、その子に乳を飲ませる。ところが、わが民の娘は、荒野のだちょうのように無慈悲になった。

4:6 For the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom, That was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands were laid on her. 6 For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her. 6 わが民の娘のうけた懲らしめは、ソドムの罰よりも大きかった。ソドムは昔、人の手によらないで、またたくまに滅ぼされたのだ。
4:7 Her nobles were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk; They were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was as of sapphire. 7 Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire: 7 わが民の君たちは雪よりも清らかに、乳よりも白く、そのからだは、さんごよりも赤く、その姿の美しさはサファイヤのようであった。

4:9 Those who are killed with the sword are better than those who are killed with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for want of the fruits of the field. 9 They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field. 9 つるぎで殺される者は、飢えて死ぬ者よりもさいわいである。彼らは田畑の産物の欠乏によって、刺された者のように衰え行くからである。
4:10 The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children; They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people. 10 The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people. 10 わが民の娘の滅びる時には情深い女たちさえも、手ずから自分の子どもを煮て、それを食物とした。
4:11 Yahweh has accomplished his wrath, he has poured out his fierce anger; He has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured its foundations. 11 The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof. 11 主はその憤りをことごとく漏らし、激しい怒りをそそぎ、シオンに火を燃やして、その礎までも焼き払われた。
4:12 The kings of the earth didn’t believe, neither all the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem. 12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem. 12 地の王たちも、世の民らもみな、エルサレムの門に、あだや敵が、討ち入ろうとは信じなかった。
4:13 It is because of the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, That have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her. 13 For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her, 13 これはその預言者たちの罪のため、その祭司たちの不義のためであった。彼らは義人の血をその町の中に流した者である。
4:14 They wander as blind men in the streets, they are polluted with blood, So that men can’t touch their garments. 14 They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments. 14 彼らは盲人のように、ちまたにさまよい、血で汚れている。だれもその衣にさわることができない。
4:15 Depart! they cried to them, Unclean! depart, depart, don’t touch! When they fled away and wandered, men said among the nations, They shall no more sojourn here. 15 They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there. 15 人々は彼らにむかって、「去れよ、けがらわしい」、「去れよ、去れよ、さわるな」と叫んだので、彼らは逃げ去って放浪者となったが、異邦人の中でも人々は「もうわれわれのうちに宿ってはならない」と言った。
4:16 The anger of Yahweh has scattered them; he will no more regard them: They didn’t respect the persons of the priests, they didn’t favor the elders. 16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders. 16 主はみずから彼らを散らして、再び彼らを顧みず、祭司を尊ばず、長老をいたわられなかった。
4:17 Our eyes do yet fail in looking for our vain help: In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save. 17 As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us. 17 われわれの目は、むなしく助けを待ち望んで疲れ衰えた。われわれは待ち望んだが、救を与え得ない国びとを待ち望んだ。

4:19 Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the sky: They chased us on the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness. 19 Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness. 19 われわれを追う者は空のはげたかよりも速く、彼らは山でわれわれを追い立て、野でわれわれを待ち伏せる。
4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; Of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the nations. 20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen. 20 われわれが鼻の息とたのんだ者、主に油そそがれた者は、彼らの落し穴で捕えられた。彼はわれわれが「異邦人の中でもその陰に生きるであろう」と思った者である。
4:21 Rejoice and be glad, daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of Uz: The cup shall pass through to you also; you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked. 21 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked. 21 ウズの地に住むエドムの娘よ、喜び楽しめ、あなたにもまた杯がめぐって行く、あなたも酔って裸になる。
4:22 The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, daughter of Zion; he will no more carry you away into captivity: He will visit your iniquity, daughter of Edom; he will uncover your sins. 22 The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins. 22 シオンの娘よ、あなたの不義の罰は終った。主は重ねてあなたを捕え移されない。エドムの娘よ、主はあなたの不義を罰し、あなたの罪をあらわされる。
