1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 1:1 神の御旨により召されてキリスト・イエスの使徒となったパウロと、兄弟ソステネから、

11 For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. 11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 1:11 わたしの兄弟たちよ。実は、クロエの家の者たちから、あなたがたの間に争いがあると聞かされている。
12 Now I mean this, that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," "I follow Apollos," "I follow Cephas," and, "I follow Christ." 12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 1:12 はっきり言うと、あなたがたがそれぞれ、「わたしはパウロにつく」「わたしはアポロに」「わたしはケパに」「わたしはキリストに」と言い合っていることである。
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul? 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 1:13 キリストは、いくつにも分けられたのか。パウロは、あなたがたのために十字架につけられたことがあるのか。それとも、あなたがたは、パウロの名によってバプテスマを受けたのか。

17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News-not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn't be made void. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1:17 いったい、キリストがわたしをつかわされたのは、バプテスマを授けるためではなく、福音を宣べ伝えるためであり、しかも知恵の言葉を用いずに宣べ伝えるためであった。それは、キリストの十字架が無力なものになってしまわないためなのである。
18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1:18 十字架の言は、滅び行く者には愚かであるが、救にあずかるわたしたちには、神の力である。
19 For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing." 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 1:19 すなわち、聖書に、「わたしは知者の知恵を滅ぼし、賢い者の賢さをむなしいものにする」と書いてある。
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? 21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn't know God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1:21 この世は、自分の知恵によって神を認めるに至らなかった。それは、神の知恵にかなっている。そこで神は、宣教の愚かさによって、信じる者を救うこととされたのである。
22 For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom, 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1:22 ユダヤ人はしるしを請い、ギリシヤ人は知恵を求める。
23 but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 1:23 しかしわたしたちは、十字架につけられたキリストを宣べ伝える。このキリストは、ユダヤ人にはつまずかせるもの、異邦人には愚かなものであるが、
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1:24 召された者自身にとっては、ユダヤ人にもギリシヤ人にも、神の力、神の知恵たるキリストなのである。

26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 1:26 兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが召された時のことを考えてみるがよい。人間的には、知恵のある者が多くはなく、権力のある者も多くはなく、身分の高い者も多くはいない。
27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1:27 それだのに神は、知者をはずかしめるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強い者をはずかしめるために、この世の弱い者を選び、
28 and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are: 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1:28 有力な者を無力な者にするために、この世で身分の低い者や軽んじられている者、すなわち、無きに等しい者を、あえて選ばれたのである。
29 that no flesh should boast before God. 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1:29 それは、どんな人間でも、神のみまえに誇ることがないためである。
30 But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1:30 あなたがたがキリスト・イエスにあるのは、神によるのである。キリストは神に立てられて、わたしたちの知恵となり、義と聖とあがないとになられたのである。
31 that, according as it is written, "He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord." 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1:31 それは、「誇る者は主を誇れ」と書いてあるとおりである。

1 When I came to you, brothers, I didn't come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2:1 兄弟たちよ。わたしもまた、あなたがたの所に行ったとき、神のあかしを宣べ伝えるのに、すぐれた言葉や知恵を用いなかった。
2 For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 2:2 なぜなら、わたしはイエス・キリスト、しかも十字架につけられたキリスト以外のことは、あなたがたの間では何も知るまいと、決心したからである。
3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 2:3 わたしがあなたがたの所に行った時には、弱くかつ恐れ、ひどく不安であった。
4 My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 2:4 そして、わたしの言葉もわたしの宣教も、巧みな知恵の言葉によらないで、霊と力との証明によったのである。
5 that your faith wouldn't stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 2:5 それは、あなたがたの信仰が人の知恵によらないで、神の力によるものとなるためであった。
6 We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing. 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 2:6 しかしわたしたちは、円熟している者の間では、知恵を語る。この知恵は、この世の者の知恵ではなく、この世の滅び行く支配者たちの知恵でもない。
7 But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory, 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 2:7 むしろ、わたしたちが語るのは、隠された奥義としての神の知恵である。それは神が、わたしたちの受ける栄光のために、世の始まらぬ先から、あらかじめ定めておかれたものである。
8 which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn't have crucified the Lord of glory. 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 2:8 この世の支配者たちのうちで、この知恵を知っていた者は、ひとりもいなかった。もし知っていたなら、栄光の主を十字架につけはしなかったであろう。
9 But as it is written, "Things which an eye didn't see, and an ear didn't hear, which didn't enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him." 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 2:9 しかし、聖書に書いてあるとおり、「目がまだ見ず、耳がまだ聞かず、人の心に思い浮びもしなかったことを、神は、ご自分を愛する者たちのために備えられた」のである。
10 But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 2:10 そして、それを神は、御霊によってわたしたちに啓示して下さったのである。御霊はすべてのものをきわめ、神の深みまでもきわめるのだからである。
11 For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God, except God's Spirit. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 2:11 いったい、人間の思いは、その内にある人間の霊以外に、だれが知っていようか。それと同じように神の思いも、神の御霊以外には、知るものはない。
12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 2:12 ところが、わたしたちが受けたのは、この世の霊ではなく、神からの霊である。それによって、神から賜わった恵みを悟るためである。
13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 2:13 この賜物について語るにも、わたしたちは人間の知恵が教える言葉を用いないで、御霊の教える言葉を用い、霊によって霊のことを解釈するのである。
14 Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 2:14 生れながらの人は、神の御霊の賜物を受けいれない。それは彼には愚かなものだからである。また、御霊によって判断されるべきであるから、彼はそれを理解することができない。
15 But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 2:15 しかし、霊の人は、すべてのものを判断するが、自分自身はだれからも判断されることはない。
16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?" But we have Christ's mind. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 2:16 「だれが主の思いを知って、彼を教えることができようか」。しかし、わたしたちはキリストの思いを持っている。

1 Brothers, I couldn't speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. 1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 3:1 兄弟たちよ。わたしはあなたがたには、霊の人に対するように話すことができず、むしろ、肉に属する者、すなわち、キリストにある幼な子に話すように話した。
2 I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren't yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready, 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3:2 あなたがたに乳を飲ませて、堅い食物は与えなかった。食べる力が、まだあなたがたになかったからである。今になってもその力がない。
3 for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, aren't you fleshly, and don't you walk in the ways of men? 3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 3:3 あなたがたはまだ、肉の人だからである。あなたがたの間に、ねたみや争いがあるのは、あなたがたが肉の人であって、普通の人間のように歩いているためではないか。
4 For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," aren't you fleshly? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 3:4 すなわち、ある人は「わたしはパウロに」と言い、ほかの人は「わたしはアポロに」と言っているようでは、あなたがたは普通の人間ではないか。
5 Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 3:5 アポロは、いったい、何者か。また、パウロは何者か。あなたがたを信仰に導いた人にすぎない。しかもそれぞれ、主から与えられた分に応じて仕えているのである。
6 I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 3:6 わたしは植え、アポロは水をそそいだ。しかし成長させて下さるのは、神である。
7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 3:7 だから、植える者も水をそそぐ者も、ともに取るに足りない。大事なのは、成長させて下さる神のみである。
8 Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 3:8 植える者と水をそそぐ者とは一つであって、それぞれその働きに応じて報酬を得るであろう。
9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's farming, God's building. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 3:9 わたしたちは神の同労者である。あなたがたは神の畑であり、神の建物である。
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 3:10 神から賜わった恵みによって、わたしは熟練した建築師のように、土台をすえた。そして他の人がその上に家を建てるのである。しかし、どういうふうに建てるか、それぞれ気をつけるがよい。
11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 3:11 なぜなら、すでにすえられている土台以外のものをすえることは、だれにもできない。そして、この土台はイエス・キリストである。
12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 3:12 この土台の上に、だれかが金、銀、宝石、木、草、または、わらを用いて建てるならば、
13 each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is. 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 3:13 それぞれの仕事は、はっきりとわかってくる。すなわち、かの日は火の中に現れて、それを明らかにし、またその火は、それぞれの仕事がどんなものであるかを、ためすであろう。
14 If any man's work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 3:14 もしある人の建てた仕事がそのまま残れば、その人は報酬を受けるが、
15 If any man's work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 3:15 その仕事が焼けてしまえば、損失を被るであろう。しかし彼自身は、火の中をくぐってきた者のようにではあるが、救われるであろう。
16 Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you? 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 3:16 あなたがたは神の宮であって、神の御霊が自分のうちに宿っていることを知らないのか。
17 If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, which you are. 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 3:17 もし人が、神の宮を破壊するなら、神はその人を滅ぼすであろう。なぜなら、神の宮は聖なるものであり、そして、あなたがたはその宮なのだからである。
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 3:18 だれも自分を欺いてはならない。もしあなたがたのうちに、自分がこの世の知者だと思う人がいるなら、その人は知者になるために愚かになるがよい。
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He has taken the wise in their craftiness." 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 3:19 なぜなら、この世の知恵は、神の前では愚かなものだからである。「神は、知者たちをその悪知恵によって捕える」と書いてあり、
20 And again, "The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless." 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 3:20 更にまた、「主は、知者たちの論議のむなしいことをご存じである」と書いてある。
21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, 21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; 3:21 だから、だれも人間を誇ってはいけない。すべては、あなたがたのものなのである。
22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours, 22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's; 3:22 パウロも、アポロも、ケパも、世界も、生も、死も、現在のものも、将来のものも、ことごとく、あなたがたのものである。

1 So let a man think of us as Christ's servants, and stewards of God's mysteries. 1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 4:1 このようなわけだから、人はわたしたちを、キリストに仕える者、神の奥義を管理している者と見るがよい。

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. 8 You are already filled. You have already become rich. You have come to reign without us. Yes, and I wish that you did reign, that we also might reign with you. 8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. 4:8 あなたがたは、すでに満腹しているのだ。すでに富み栄えているのだ。わたしたちを差しおいて、王になっているのだ。ああ、王になっていてくれたらと思う。そうであったなら、わたしたちも、あなたがたと共に王になれたであろう。
9 For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. 2 You are puffed up, and didn't rather mourn, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 5:2 それだのに、なお、あなたがたは高ぶっている。むしろ、そんな行いをしている者が、あなたがたの中から除かれねばならないことを思って、悲しむべきではないか。

7 Purge out the old yeast, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. 9 I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners; 9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 5:9 わたしは前の手紙で、不品行な者たちと交際してはいけないと書いたが、
10 yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you would have to leave the world. 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 5:10 それは、この世の不品行な者、貪欲な者、略奪をする者、偶像礼拝をする者などと全然交際してはいけないと、言ったのではない。もしそうだとしたら、あなたがたはこの世から出て行かねばならないことになる。
11 But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Don't even eat with such a person. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 5:11 しかし、わたしが実際に書いたのは、兄弟と呼ばれる人で、不品行な者、貪欲な者、偶像礼拝をする者、人をそしる者、酒に酔う者、略奪をする者があれば、そんな人と交際をしてはいけない、食事を共にしてもいけない、ということであった。
12 For what have I to do with also judging those who are outside? Don't you judge those who are within? 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 5:12 外の人たちをさばくのは、わたしのすることであろうか。あなたがたのさばくべき者は、内の人たちではないか。外の人たちは、神がさばくのである。
13 But those who are outside, God judges. "Put away the wicked man from among yourselves." 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. 5:13 その悪人を、あなたがたの中から除いてしまいなさい。

1 Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 6:1 あなたがたの中のひとりが、仲間の者と何か争いを起した場合、それを聖徒に訴えないで、正しくない者に訴え出るようなことをするのか。
2 Don't you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 6:2 それとも、聖徒は世をさばくものであることを、あなたがたは知らないのか。そして、世があなたがたによってさばかれるべきであるのに、きわめて小さい事件でもさばく力がないのか。
3 Don't you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 6:3 あなたがたは知らないのか、わたしたちは御使をさえさばく者である。ましてこの世の事件などは、いうまでもないではないか。
4 If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly? 4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 6:4 それだのに、この世の事件が起ると、教会で軽んじられている人たちを、裁判の席につかせるのか。
5 I say this to move you to shame. Isn't there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers? 5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6:5 わたしがこう言うのは、あなたがたをはずかしめるためである。いったい、あなたがたの中には、兄弟の間の争いを仲裁することができるほどの知者は、ひとりもいないのか。
6 But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers! 6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 6:6 しかるに、兄弟が兄弟を訴え、しかもそれを不信者の前に持ち出すのか。
7 Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you, that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 6:7 そもそも、互に訴え合うこと自体が、すでにあなたがたの敗北なのだ。なぜ、むしろ不義を受けないのか。なぜ、むしろだまされていないのか。
8 No, but you yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and that against your brothers. 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. 6:8 しかるに、あなたがたは不義を働き、だまし取り、しかも兄弟に対してそうしているのである。
9 Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 6:9 それとも、正しくない者が神の国をつぐことはないのを、知らないのか。まちがってはいけない。不品行な者、偶像を礼拝する者、姦淫をする者、男娼となる者、男色をする者、盗む者、
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God. 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 6:10 貪欲な者、酒に酔う者、そしる者、略奪する者は、いずれも神の国をつぐことはないのである。
11 Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 6:11 あなたがたの中には、以前はそんな人もいた。しかし、あなたがたは、主イエス・キリストの名によって、またわたしたちの神の霊によって、洗われ、きよめられ、義とされたのである。
12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. 13 "Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods," but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 6:13 食物は腹のため、腹は食物のためである。しかし神は、それもこれも滅ぼすであろう。からだは不品行のためではなく、主のためであり、主はからだのためである。
14 Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 6:14 そして、神は主をよみがえらせたが、その力で、わたしたちをもよみがえらせて下さるであろう。
15 Don't you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 6:15 あなたがたは自分のからだがキリストの肢体であることを、知らないのか。それだのに、キリストの肢体を取って遊女の肢体としてよいのか。断じていけない。
16 Or don't you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, "The two," says he, "will become one flesh." 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 6:16 それとも、遊女につく者はそれと一つのからだになることを、知らないのか。「ふたりの者は一体となるべきである」とあるからである。
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 6:17 しかし主につく者は、主と一つの霊になるのである。
18 Flee sexual immorality! "Every sin that a man does is outside the body," but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 6:18 不品行を避けなさい。人の犯すすべての罪は、からだの外にある。しかし不品行をする者は、自分のからだに対して罪を犯すのである。
19 Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 6:19 あなたがたは知らないのか。自分のからだは、神から受けて自分の内に宿っている聖霊の宮であって、あなたがたは、もはや自分自身のものではないのである。

2 But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 7:2 しかし、不品行に陥ることのないために、男子はそれぞれ自分の妻を持ち、婦人もそれぞれ自分の夫を持つがよい。
3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 7:3 夫は妻にその分を果し、妻も同様に夫にその分を果すべきである。
4 The wife doesn't have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but the wife. 4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 7:4 妻は自分のからだを自由にすることはできない。それができるのは夫である。夫も同様に自分のからだを自由にすることはできない。それができるのは妻である。
5 Don't deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn't tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. 7:5 互に拒んではいけない。ただし、合意の上で祈に専心するために、しばらく相別れ、それからまた一緒になることは、さしつかえない。そうでないと、自制力のないのに乗じて、サタンがあなたがたを誘惑するかも知れない。

10 But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband 10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 7:10 更に、結婚している者たちに命じる。命じるのは、わたしではなく主であるが、妻は夫から別れてはいけない。
11 (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife. 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 7:11 (しかし、万一別れているなら、結婚しないでいるか、それとも夫と和解するかしなさい)。また夫も妻と離婚してはならない。
12 But to the rest I—not the Lord—say, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her. 12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 7:12 そのほかの人々に言う。これを言うのは、主ではなく、わたしである。ある兄弟に不信者の妻があり、そして共にいることを喜んでいる場合には、離婚してはいけない。
13 The woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband. 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 7:13 また、ある婦人の夫が不信者であり、そして共にいることを喜んでいる場合には、離婚してはいけない。
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 7:14 なぜなら、不信者の夫は妻によってきよめられており、また、不信者の妻も夫によってきよめられているからである。もしそうでなければ、あなたがたの子は汚れていることになるが、実際はきよいではないか。
15 Yet if the unbeliever departs, let there be separation. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 7:15 しかし、もし不信者の方が離れて行くのなら、離れるままにしておくがよい。兄弟も姉妹も、こうした場合には、束縛されてはいない。神は、あなたがたを平和に暮させるために、召されたのである。
16 For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife? 16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? 7:16 なぜなら、妻よ、あなたが夫を救いうるかどうか、どうしてわかるか。また、夫よ、あなたも妻を救いうるかどうか、どうしてわかるか。
17 Only, as the Lord has distributed to each man, as God has called each, so let him walk. So I command in all the assemblies. 17 But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches. 7:17 ただ、各自は、主から賜わった分に応じ、また神に召されたままの状態にしたがって、歩むべきである。これが、すべての教会に対してわたしの命じるところである。
18 Was anyone called having been circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised. 18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. 7:18 召されたとき割礼を受けていたら、その跡をなくそうとしないがよい。また、召されたとき割礼を受けていなかったら、割礼を受けようとしないがよい。
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. 19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. 7:19 割礼があってもなくても、それは問題ではない。大事なのは、ただ神の戒めを守ることである。
20 Let each man stay in that calling in which he was called. 20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. 7:20 各自は、召されたままの状態にとどまっているべきである。
21 Were you called being a bondservant? Don't let that bother you, but if you get an opportunity to become free, use it. 21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. 7:21 召されたとき奴隷であっても、それを気にしないがよい。しかし、もし自由の身になりうるなら、むしろ自由になりなさい。
22 For he who was called in the Lord being a bondservant is the Lord's free man. Likewise he who was called being free is Christ's bondservant. 22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant. 7:22 主にあって召された奴隷は、主によって自由人とされた者であり、また、召された自由人はキリストの奴隷なのである。
23 You were bought with a price. Don't become bondservants of men. 23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. 7:23 あなたがたは、代価を払って買いとられたのだ。人の奴隷となってはいけない。
24 Brothers, let each man, in whatever condition he was called, stay in that condition with God. 24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God. 7:24 兄弟たちよ。各自は、その召されたままの状態で、神のみまえにいるべきである。
25 Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who has obtained mercy from the Lord to be trustworthy. 25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. 7:25 おとめのことについては、わたしは主の命令を受けてはいないが、主のあわれみにより信任を受けている者として、意見を述べよう。
26 I think that it is good therefore, because of the distress that is on us, that it is good for a man to be as he is. 26 I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be. 7:26 わたしはこう考える。現在迫っている危機のゆえに、人は現状にとどまっているがよい。
27 Are you bound to a wife? Don't seek to be freed. Are you free from a wife? Don't seek a wife. 27 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. 7:27 もし妻に結ばれているなら、解こうとするな。妻に結ばれていないなら、妻を迎えようとするな。
28 But if you marry, you have not sinned. If a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Yet such will have oppression in the flesh, and I want to spare you. 28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. 7:28 しかし、たとい結婚しても、罪を犯すのではない。また、おとめが結婚しても、罪を犯すのではない。ただ、それらの人々はその身に苦難を受けるであろう。わたしは、あなたがたを、それからのがれさせたいのだ。
29 But I say this, brothers: the time is short, that from now on, both those who have wives may be as though they had none; 29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; 7:29 兄弟たちよ。わたしの言うことを聞いてほしい。時は縮まっている。今からは妻のある者はないもののように、
30 and those who weep, as though they didn't weep; and those who rejoice, as though they didn't rejoice; and those who buy, as though they didn't possess; 30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 7:30 泣く者は泣かないもののように、喜ぶ者は喜ばないもののように、買う者は持たないもののように、
31 and those who use the world, as not using it to the fullest. For the mode of this world passes away. 31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. 7:31 世と交渉のある者は、それに深入りしないようにすべきである。なぜなら、この世の有様は過ぎ去るからである。
32 But I desire to have you to be free from cares. He who is unmarried is concerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; 32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: 7:32 わたしはあなたがたが、思い煩わないようにしていてほしい。未婚の男子は主のことに心をくばって、どうかして主を喜ばせようとするが、
33 but he who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife. 33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. 7:33 結婚している男子はこの世のことに心をくばって、どうかして妻を喜ばせようとして、その心が分れるのである。
34 There is also a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband. 34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 7:34 未婚の婦人とおとめとは、主のことに心をくばって、身も魂もきよくなろうとするが、結婚した婦人はこの世のことに心をくばって、どうかして夫を喜ばせようとする。
35 This I say for your own profit; not that I may ensnare you, but for that which is appropriate, and that you may attend to the Lord without distraction. 35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. 7:35 わたしがこう言うのは、あなたがたの利益になると思うからであって、あなたがたを束縛するためではない。そうではなく、正しい生活を送って、余念なく主に奉仕させたいからである。
36 But if any man thinks that he is behaving inappropriately toward his virgin, if she is past the flower of her age, and if need so requires, let him do what he desires. He doesn't sin. Let them marry. 36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. 7:36 もしある人が、相手のおとめに対して、情熱をいだくようになった場合、それは適当でないと思いつつも、やむを得なければ、望みどおりにしてもよい。それは罪を犯すことではない。ふたりは結婚するがよい。
37 But he who stands steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but has power over his own heart, to keep his own virgin, does well. 37 Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. 7:37 しかし、彼が心の内で堅く決心していて、無理をしないで自分の思いを制することができ、その上で、相手のおとめをそのままにしておこうと、心の中で決めたなら、そうしてもよい。
38 So then both he who gives his own virgin in marriage does well, and he who doesn't give her in marriage does better. 38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. 7:38 だから、相手のおとめと結婚することはさしつかえないが、結婚しない方がもっとよい。
39 A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whoever she desires, only in the Lord. 39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 7:39 妻は夫が生きている間は、その夫につながれている。夫が死ねば、望む人と結婚してもさしつかえないが、それは主にある者とに限る。
40 But she is happier if she stays as she is, in my judgment, and I think that I also have God's Spirit. 40 But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God. 7:40 しかし、わたしの意見では、そのままでいたなら、もっと幸福である。わたしも神の霊を受けていると思う。

1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 8:1 偶像への供え物について答えると、「わたしたちはみな知識を持っている」ことは、わかっている。しかし、知識は人を誇らせ、愛は人の徳を高める。
2 But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn't yet know as he ought to know. 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. 8:2 もし人が、自分は何か知っていると思うなら、その人は、知らなければならないほどの事すら、まだ知っていない。
3 But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him. 3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him. 8:3 しかし、人が神を愛するなら、その人は神に知られているのである。
4 Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one. 4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. 8:4 さて、偶像への供え物を食べることについては、わたしたちは、偶像なるものは実際は世に存在しないこと、また、唯一の神のほかには神がないことを、知っている。
5 For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;" 5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) 8:5 というのは、たとい神々といわれるものが、あるいは天に、あるいは地にあるとしても、そして、多くの神、多くの主があるようではあるが、
6 yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him. 6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 8:6 わたしたちには、父なる唯一の神のみがいますのである。万物はこの神から出て、わたしたちもこの神に帰する。また、唯一の主イエス・キリストのみがいますのである。万物はこの主により、わたしたちもこの主によっている。
7 However, that knowledge isn't in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. 7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 8:7 しかし、この知識をすべての人が持っているのではない。ある人々は、偶像についての、これまでの習慣上、偶像への供え物として、それを食べるが、彼らの良心が、弱いために汚されるのである。
8 But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we don't eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better. 8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. 8:8 食物は、わたしたちを神に導くものではない。食べなくても損はないし、食べても益にはならない。
9 But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak. 9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your's become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. 8:9 しかし、あなたがたのこの自由が、弱い者たちのつまずきにならないように、気をつけなさい。
10 For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols? 10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; 8:10 なぜなら、ある人が、知識のあるあなたが偶像の宮で食事をしているのを見た場合、その人の良心が弱いため、それに「教育されて」、偶像への供え物を食べるようにならないだろうか。
11 And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whose sake Christ died. 11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? 8:11 するとその弱い人は、あなたの知識によって滅びることになる。この弱い兄弟のためにも、キリストは死なれたのである。
12 Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. 12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. 8:12 このようにあなたがたが、兄弟たちに対して罪を犯し、その弱い良心を痛めるのは、キリストに対して罪を犯すことなのである。
13 Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I don't cause my brother to stumble. 13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend. 8:13 だから、もし食物がわたしの兄弟をつまずかせるなら、兄弟をつまずかせないために、わたしは永久に、断じて肉を食べることはしない。

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven't I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren't you my work in the Lord? 1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 9:1 わたしは自由な者ではないか。使徒ではないか。わたしたちの主イエスを見たではないか。あなたがたは、主にあるわたしの働きの実ではないか。
2 If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. 9:2 わたしは、ほかの人に対しては使徒でないとしても、あなたがたには使徒である。あなたがたが主にあることは、わたしの使徒職の印なのである。
3 My defense to those who examine me is this. 3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 9:3 わたしの批判者たちに対する弁明は、これである。
4 Have we no right to eat and to drink? 4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 9:4 わたしたちには、飲み食いをする権利がないのか。
5 Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? 5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 9:5 わたしたちには、ほかの使徒たちや主の兄弟たちやケパのように、信者である妻を連れて歩く権利がないのか。
6 Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work? 6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 9:6 それとも、わたしとバルナバとだけには、労働をせずにいる権利がないのか。
7 What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn't eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and doesn't drink from the flock's milk? 7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 9:7 いったい、自分で費用を出して軍隊に加わる者があろうか。ぶどう畑を作っていて、その実を食べない者があろうか。また、羊を飼っていて、その乳を飲まない者があろうか。
8 Do I speak these things according to the ways of men? Or doesn't the law also say the same thing? 8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 9:8 わたしは、人間の考えでこう言うのではない。律法もまた、そのように言っているではないか。
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." Is it for the oxen that God cares, 9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 9:9 すなわち、モーセの律法に、「穀物をこなしている牛に、くつこをかけてはならない」と書いてある。神は、牛のことを心にかけておられるのだろうか。
10 or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should partake of his hope. 10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 9:10 それとも、もっぱら、わたしたちのために言っておられるのか。もちろん、それはわたしたちのためにしるされたのである。すなわち、耕す者は望みをもって耕し、穀物をこなす者は、その分け前をもらう望みをもってこなすのである。
11 If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things? 11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 9:11 もしわたしたちが、あなたがたのために霊のものをまいたのなら、肉のものをあなたがたから刈りとるのは、行き過ぎだろうか。
12 If others partake of this right over you, don't we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ. 12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 9:12 もしほかの人々が、あなたがたに対するこの権利にあずかっているとすれば、わたしたちはなおさらのことではないか。しかしわたしたちは、この権利を利用せず、かえってキリストの福音の妨げにならないようにと、すべてのことを忍んでいる。
13 Don't you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar? 13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 9:13 あなたがたは、宮仕えをしている人たちは宮から下がる物を食べ、祭壇に奉仕している人たちは祭壇の供え物の分け前にあずかることを、知らないのか。
14 Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News. 14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 9:14 それと同様に、主は、福音を宣べ伝えている者たちが福音によって生活すべきことを、定められたのである。
15 But I have used none of these things, and I don't write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void. 15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. 9:15 しかしわたしは、これらの権利を一つも利用しなかった。また、自分がそうしてもらいたいから、このように書くのではない。そうされるよりは、死ぬ方がましである。わたしのこの誇は、何者にも奪い去られてはならないのだ。
16 For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about; for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me, if I don't preach the Good News. 16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 9:16 わたしが福音を宣べ伝えても、それは誇にはならない。なぜなら、わたしは、そうせずにはおれないからである。もし福音を宣べ伝えないなら、わたしはわざわいである。
17 For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me. 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 9:17 進んでそれをすれば、報酬を受けるであろう。しかし、進んでしないとしても、それは、わたしにゆだねられた務なのである。
18 What then is my reward? That, when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News. 18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 9:18 それでは、その報酬はなんであるか。福音を宣べ伝えるのにそれを無代価で提供し、わたしが宣教者として持つ権利を利用しないことである。
19 For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. 19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 9:19 わたしは、すべての人に対して自由であるが、できるだけ多くの人を得るために、自ら進んですべての人の奴隷になった。
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law; 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 9:20 ユダヤ人には、ユダヤ人のようになった。ユダヤ人を得るためである。律法の下にある人には、わたし自身は律法の下にはないが、律法の下にある者のようになった。律法の下にある人を得るためである。
21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law. 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 9:21 律法のない人には―わたしは神の律法の外にあるのではなく、キリストの律法の中にあるのだが―律法のない人のようになった。律法のない人を得るためである。
22 To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I havebecome all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 9:22 弱い人には弱い者になった。弱い人を得るためである。すべての人に対しては、すべての人のようになった。なんとかして幾人かを救うためである。
23 Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it. 23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. 9:23 福音のために、わたしはどんな事でもする。わたしも共に福音にあずかるためである。
24 Don't you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 9:24 あなたがたは知らないのか。競技場で走る者は、みな走りはするが、賞を得る者はひとりだけである。あなたがたも、賞を得るように走りなさい。
25 Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 9:25 しかし、すべて競技をする者は、何ごとにも節制をする。彼らは朽ちる冠を得るためにそうするが、わたしたちは朽ちない冠を得るためにそうするのである。
26 I therefore run like that, as not uncertainly. I fight like that, as not beating the air, 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 9:26 そこで、わたしは目標のはっきりしないような走り方をせず、空を打つような拳闘はしない。
27 but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 9:27 すなわち、自分のからだを打ちたたいて服従させるのである。そうしないと、ほかの人に宣べ伝えておきながら、自分は失格者になるかも知れない。

1 Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:1 兄弟たちよ。このことを知らずにいてもらいたくない。わたしたちの先祖はみな雲の下におり、みな海を通り、
2 and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 10:2 みな雲の中、海の中で、モーセにつくバプテスマを受けた。
3 and all ate the same spiritual food; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 10:3 また、みな同じ霊の食物を食べ、
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ. 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 10:4 みな同じ霊の飲み物を飲んだ。すなわち、彼らについてきた霊の岩から飲んだのであるが、この岩はキリストにほかならない。

16 The cup of blessing which we bless, isn't it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn't it a sharing of the body of Christ? 16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 10:16 わたしたちが祝福する祝福の杯、それはキリストの血にあずかることではないか。わたしたちがさくパン、それはキリストのからだにあずかることではないか。
17 Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread. 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 10:17 パンが一つであるから、わたしたちは多くいても、一つのからだなのである。みんなの者が一つのパンを共にいただくからである。
18 Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don't those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar? 18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? 10:18 肉によるイスラエルを見るがよい。供え物を食べる人たちは、祭壇にあずかるのではないか。
19 What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? 10:19 すると、なんと言ったらよいか。偶像にささげる供え物は、何か意味があるのか。また、偶像は何かほんとうにあるものか。
20 But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don't desire that you would have fellowship with demons. 20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 10:20 そうではない。人々が供える物は、悪霊ども、すなわち、神ならぬ者に供えるのである。わたしは、あなたがたが悪霊の仲間になることを望まない。
21 You can't both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can't both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons. 21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. 10:21 主の杯と悪霊どもの杯とを、同時に飲むことはできない。主の食卓と悪霊どもの食卓とに、同時にあずかることはできない。
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? 22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? 10:22 それとも、わたしたちは主のねたみを起そうとするのか。わたしたちは、主よりも強いのだろうか。
23 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are profitable. "All things are lawful for me," but not all things build up. 23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 10:23 すべてのことは許されている。しかし、すべてのことが益になるわけではない。すべてのことは許されている。しかし、すべてのことが人の徳を高めるのではない。
24 Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor's good. 24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 10:24 だれでも、自分の益を求めないで、ほかの人の益を求めるべきである。
25 Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience, 25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: 10:25 すべて市場で売られている物は、いちいち良心に問うことをしないで、食べるがよい。
26 for "the earth is the Lord's, and its fullness." 26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. 10:26 地とそれに満ちている物とは、主のものだからである。
27 But if one of those who don't believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience. 27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. 10:27 もしあなたがたが、不信者のだれかに招かれて、そこに行こうと思う場合、自分の前に出される物はなんでも、いちいち良心に問うことをしないで、食べるがよい。
28 But if anyone says to you, "This was offered to idols," don't eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For "the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness." 28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: 10:28 しかし、だれかがあなたがたに、これはささげ物の肉だと言ったなら、それを知らせてくれた人のために、また良心のために、食べないがよい。
29 Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other's conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience? 29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? 10:29 良心と言ったのは、自分の良心ではなく、他人の良心のことである。なぜなら、わたしの自由が、どうして他人の良心によって左右されることがあろうか。
30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks? 30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? 10:30 もしわたしが感謝して食べる場合、その感謝する物について、どうして人のそしりを受けるわけがあろうか。
31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 10:31 だから、飲むにも食べるにも、また何事をするにも、すべて神の栄光のためにすべきである。

2 Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 11:2 あなたがたが、何かにつけわたしを覚えていて、あなたがたに伝えたとおりに言伝えを守っているので、わたしは満足に思う。
3 But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 11:3 しかし、あなたがたに知っていてもらいたい。すべての男のかしらはキリストであり、女のかしらは男であり、キリストのかしらは神である。

5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonors her head. 6 For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered. 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. 11:6 もし女がおおいをかけないなら、髪を切ってしまうがよい。髪を切ったりそったりするのが、女にとって恥ずべきことであるなら、おおいをかけるべきである。
7 For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man. 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 11:7 男は、神のかたちであり栄光であるから、かしらに物をかぶるべきではない。女は、また男の光栄である。
8 For man is not from woman, but woman from man; 8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. 11:8 なぜなら、男が女から出たのではなく、女が男から出たのだからである。
9 for neither was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 11:9 また、男は女のために造られたのではなく、女が男のために造られたのである。
10 For this cause the woman ought to have authority on her head, because of the angels. 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. 11:10 それだから、女は、かしらに権威のしるしをかぶるべきである。それは天使たちのためでもある。
11 Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord. 11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. 11:11 ただ、主にあっては、男なしには女はないし、女なしには男はない。
12 For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God. 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. 11:12 それは、女が男から出たように、男もまた女から生れたからである。そして、すべてのものは神から出たのである。
13 Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled? 13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? 11:13 あなたがた自身で判断してみるがよい。女がおおいをかけずに神に祈るのは、ふさわしいことだろうか。
14 Doesn't even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 11:14 自然そのものが教えているではないか。男に長い髪があれば彼の恥になり、
15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering. 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. 11:15 女に長い髪があれば彼女の光栄になるのである。長い髪はおおいの代りに女に与えられているものだからである。
16 But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God's assemblies. 16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. 11:16 しかし、だれかがそれに反対の意見を持っていても、そんな風習はわたしたちにはなく、神の諸教会にもない。
17 But in giving you this command, I don't praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse. 17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 11:17 ところで、次のことを命じるについては、あなたがたをほめるわけにはいかない。というのは、あなたがたの集まりが利益にならないで、かえって損失になっているからである。
18 For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it. 18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. 11:18 まず、あなたがたが教会に集まる時、お互の間に分争があることを、わたしは耳にしており、そしていくぶんか、それを信じている。
19 For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you. 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. 11:19 たしかに、あなたがたの中でほんとうの者が明らかにされるためには、分派もなければなるまい。
20 When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat. 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. 11:20 そこで、あなたがたが一緒に集まるとき、主の晩餐を守ることができないでいる。
21 For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunken. 21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. 11:21 というのは、食事の際、各自が自分の晩餐をかってに先に食べるので、飢えている人があるかと思えば、酔っている人がある始末である。
22 What, don't you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God's assembly, and put them to shame who don't have? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I don't praise you. 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. 11:22 あなたがたには、飲み食いをする家がないのか。それとも、神の教会を軽んじ、貧しい人々をはずかしめるのか。わたしはあなたがたに対して、なんと言おうか。あなたがたを、ほめようか。この事では、ほめるわけにはいかない。
23 For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread. 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 11:23 わたしは、主から受けたことを、また、あなたがたに伝えたのである。すなわち、主イエスは、渡される夜、パンをとり、
24 When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me." 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 11:24 感謝してこれをさき、そして言われた、「これはあなたがたのための、わたしのからだである。わたしを記念するため、このように行いなさい」。
25 In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me." 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 11:25 食事ののち、杯をも同じようにして言われた、「この杯は、わたしの血による新しい契約である。飲むたびに、わたしの記念として、このように行いなさい」。
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 11:26 だから、あなたがたは、このパンを食し、この杯を飲むごとに、それによって、主がこられる時に至るまで、主の死を告げ知らせるのである。
27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in a manner unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 11:27 だから、ふさわしくないままでパンを食し主の杯を飲む者は、主のからだと血とを犯すのである。
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 11:28 だれでもまず自分を吟味し、それからパンを食べ杯を飲むべきである。
29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn't discern the Lord's body. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 11:29 主のからだをわきまえないで飲み食いする者は、その飲み食いによって自分にさばきを招くからである。
30 For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 11:30 あなたがたの中に、弱い者や病人が大ぜいおり、また眠った者も少なくないのは、そのためである。
31 For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn't be judged. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 11:31 しかし、自分をよくわきまえておくならば、わたしたちはさばかれることはないであろう。
32 But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 11:32 しかし、さばかれるとすれば、それは、この世と共に罪に定められないために、主の懲らしめを受けることなのである。
33 Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait one for another. 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. 11:33 それだから、兄弟たちよ。食事のために集まる時には、互に待ち合わせなさい。
34 But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come. 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come. 11:34 もし空腹であったら、さばきを受けに集まることにならないため、家で食べるがよい。そのほかの事は、わたしが行った時に、定めることにしよう。

1 Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don't want you to be ignorant. 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 12:1 兄弟たちよ。霊の賜物については、次のことを知らずにいてもらいたくない。
2 You know that when you wereheathen , you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 12:2 あなたがたがまだ異邦人であった時、誘われるまま、物の言えない偶像のところに引かれて行ったことは、あなたがたの承知しているとおりである。
3 Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God's Spirit says, "Jesus is accursed." No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," but by the Holy Spirit. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 12:3 そこで、あなたがたに言っておくが、神の霊によって語る者はだれも「イエスはのろわれよ」とは言わないし、また、聖霊によらなければ、だれも「イエスは主である」と言うことができない。
4 Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 12:4 霊の賜物は種々あるが、御霊は同じである。
5 There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 12:5 務は種々あるが、主は同じである。
6 There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 12:6 働きは種々あるが、すべてのものの中に働いてすべてのことをなさる神は、同じである。
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 12:7 各自が御霊の現れを賜わっているのは、全体の益になるためである。
8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 12:8 すなわち、ある人には御霊によって知恵の言葉が与えられ、ほかの人には、同じ御霊によって知識の言、
9 to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 12:9 またほかの人には、同じ御霊によって信仰、またほかの人には、一つの御霊によっていやしの賜物、
10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 12:10 またほかの人には力あるわざ、またほかの人には預言、またほかの人には霊を見わける力、またほかの人には種々の異言、またほかの人には異言を解く力が、与えられている。
11 But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires. 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12:11 すべてこれらのものは、一つの同じ御霊の働きであって、御霊は思いのままに、それらを各自に分け与えられるのである。
12 For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 12:12 からだが一つであっても肢体は多くあり、また、からだのすべての肢体が多くあっても、からだは一つであるように、キリストの場合も同様である。
13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 12:13 なぜなら、わたしたちは皆、ユダヤ人もギリシヤ人も、奴隷も自由人も、一つの御霊によって、一つのからだとなるようにバプテスマを受け、そして皆一つの御霊を飲んだからである。
14 For the body is not one member, but many. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 12:14 実際、からだは一つの肢体だけではなく、多くのものからできている。
15 If the foot would say, "Because I'm not the hand, I'm not part of the body," it is not therefore not part of the body. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:15 もし足が、わたしは手ではないから、からだに属していないと言っても、それで、からだに属さないわけではない。
16 If the ear would say, "Because I'm not the eye, I'm not part of the body," it's not therefore not part of the body. 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:16 また、もし耳が、わたしは目ではないから、からだに属していないと言っても、それで、からだに属さないわけではない。
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 12:17 もしからだ全体が目だとすれば、どこで聞くのか。もし、からだ全体が耳だとすれば、どこでかぐのか。
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired. 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 12:18 そこで神は御旨のままに、肢体をそれぞれ、からだに備えられたのである。
19 If they were all one member, where would the body be? 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 12:19 もし、すべてのものが一つの肢体なら、どこにからだがあるのか。
20 But now they are many members, but one body. 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 12:20 ところが実際、肢体は多くあるが、からだは一つなのである。
21 The eye can't tell the hand, "I have no need for you," or again the head to the feet, "I have no need for you." 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 12:21 目は手にむかって、「おまえはいらない」とは言えず、また頭は足にむかって、「おまえはいらない」とも言えない。
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 12:22 そうではなく、むしろ、からだのうちで他よりも弱く見える肢体が、かえって必要なのであり、
23 Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety; 23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 12:23 からだのうちで、他よりも見劣りがすると思えるところに、ものを着せていっそう見よくする。麗しくない部分はいっそう麗しくするが、
24 whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part, 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. 12:24 麗しい部分はそうする必要がない。神は劣っている部分をいっそう見よくして、からだに調和をお与えになったのである。
25 that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 12:25 それは、からだの中に分裂がなく、それぞれの肢体が互にいたわり合うためなのである。
26 When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 12:26 もし一つの肢体が悩めば、ほかの肢体もみな共に悩み、一つの肢体が尊ばれると、ほかの肢体もみな共に喜ぶ。
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 12:27 あなたがたはキリストのからだであり、ひとりびとりはその肢体である。
28 God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 12:28 そして、神は教会の中で、人々を立てて、第一に使徒、第二に預言者、第三に教師とし、次に力あるわざを行う者、次にいやしの賜物を持つ者、また補助者、管理者、種々の異言を語る者をおかれた。

1 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 13:1 たといわたしが、人々の言葉や御使たちの言葉を語っても、もし愛がなければ、わたしは、やかましい鐘や騒がしい鐃鉢と同じである。
2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 13:2 たといまた、わたしに預言をする力があり、あらゆる奥義とあらゆる知識とに通じていても、また、山を移すほどの強い信仰があっても、もし愛がなければ、わたしは無に等しい。
3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 13:3 たといまた、わたしが自分の全財産を人に施しても、また、自分のからだを焼かれるために渡しても、もし愛がなければ、いっさいは無益である。
4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 13:4 愛は寛容であり、愛は情深い。また、ねたむことをしない。愛は高ぶらない、誇らない、
5 doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 13:5 不作法をしない、自分の利益を求めない、いらだたない、恨みをいだかない。
6 doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 13:6 不義を喜ばないで真理を喜ぶ。
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 13:7 そして、すべてを忍び、すべてを信じ、すべてを望み、すべてを耐える。
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 13:8 愛はいつまでも絶えることがない。しかし、預言はすたれ、異言はやみ、知識はすたれるであろう。
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 13:9 なぜなら、わたしたちの知るところは一部分であり、預言するところも一部分にすぎない。
10 but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 13:10 全きものが来る時には、部分的なものはすたれる。
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become an adult, I have put away childish things. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 13:11 わたしたちが幼な子であった時には、幼な子らしく語り、幼な子らしく感じ、また、幼な子らしく考えていた。しかし、おとなとなった今は、幼な子らしいことを捨ててしまった。
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13:12 わたしたちは、今は、鏡に映して見るようにおぼろげに見ている。しかしその時には、顔と顔とを合わせて、見るであろう。わたしの知るところは、今は一部分にすぎない。しかしその時には、わたしが完全に知られているように、完全に知るであろう。
13 But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 13:13 このように、いつまでも存続するものは、信仰と希望と愛と、この三つである。このうちで最も大いなるものは、愛である。

1 Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 14:1 愛を追い求めなさい。また、霊の賜物を、ことに預言することを、熱心に求めなさい。
2 For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 14:2 異言を語る者は、人にむかって語るのではなく、神にむかって語るのである。それはだれにもわからない。彼はただ、霊によって奥義を語っているだけである。
3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 14:3 しかし預言をする者は、人に語ってその徳を高め、彼を励まし、慰めるのである。
4 He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly. 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 14:4 異言を語る者は自分だけの徳を高めるが、預言をする者は教会の徳を高める。
5 Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but rather that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 14:5 わたしは実際、あなたがたがひとり残らず異言を語ることを望むが、特に預言をしてもらいたい。教会の徳を高めるように異言を解かない限り、異言を語る者よりも、預言をする者の方がまさっている。
6 But now,brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching? 6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 14:6 だから、兄弟たちよ。たといわたしがあなたがたの所に行って異言を語るとしても、啓示か知識か預言か教かを語らなければ、あなたがたに、なんの役に立つだろうか。
7 Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they didn't give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped? 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 14:7 また、笛や立琴のような楽器でも、もしその音に変化がなければ、何を吹いているのか、弾いているのか、どうして知ることができようか。
8 For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 14:8 また、もしラッパがはっきりした音を出さないなら、だれが戦闘の準備をするだろうか。
9 So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air. 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 14:9 それと同様に、もしあなたがたが異言ではっきりしない言葉を語れば、どうしてその語ることがわかるだろうか。それでは、空にむかって語っていることになる。
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of sounds in the world, and none of them is without meaning. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 14:10 世には多種多様の言葉があるだろうが、意味のないものは一つもない。
11 If then I don't know the meaning of the sound, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 14:11 もしその言葉の意味がわからないなら、語っている人にとっては、わたしは異国人であり、語っている人も、わたしにとっては異国人である。
12 So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly. 12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 14:12 だから、あなたがたも、霊の賜物を熱心に求めている以上は、教会の徳を高めるために、それを豊かにいただくように励むがよい。
13 Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14:13 このようなわけであるから、異言を語る者は、自分でそれを解くことができるように祈りなさい。
14 For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 14:14 もしわたしが異言をもって祈るなら、わたしの霊は祈るが、知性は実を結ばないからである。
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 14:15 すると、どうしたらよいのか。わたしは霊で祈ると共に、知性でも祈ろう。霊でさんびを歌うと共に、知性でも歌おう。
16 Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the "Amen" at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn't know what you say? 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 14:16 そうでないと、もしあなたが霊で祝福の言葉を唱えても、初心者の席にいる者は、あなたの感謝に対して、どうしてアァメンと言えようか。あなたが何を言っているのか、彼には通じない。
17 For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up. 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 14:17 感謝するのは結構だが、それで、ほかの人の徳を高めることにはならない。
18 I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 14:18 わたしは、あなたがたのうちのだれよりも多く異言が語れることを、神に感謝する。
19 However in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language. 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 14:19 しかし教会では、一万の言葉を異言で語るよりも、ほかの人たちをも教えるために、むしろ五つの言葉を知性によって語る方が願わしい。
20 Brothers, don't be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature. 20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 14:20 兄弟たちよ。物の考えかたでは、子供となってはいけない。悪事については幼な子となるのはよいが、考えかたでは、おとなとなりなさい。
21 In the law it is written, "By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. Not even thus will they hear me, says the Lord." 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 14:21 律法にこう書いてある、「わたしは、異国の舌と異国のくちびるとで、この民に語るが、それでも、彼らはわたしに耳を傾けない、と主が仰せになる」。
22 Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 14:22 このように、異言は信者のためではなく未信者のためのしるしであるが、預言は未信者のためではなく信者のためのしるしである。
23 If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won't they say that you are crazy? 23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 14:23 もし全教会が一緒に集まって、全員が異言を語っているところに、初心者か不信者かがはいってきたら、彼らはあなたがたを気違いだと言うだろう。
24 But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all. 24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 14:24 しかし、全員が預言をしているところに、不信者か初心者がはいってきたら、彼の良心はみんなの者に責められ、みんなの者にさばかれ、
25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed. 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. 14:25 その心の秘密があばかれ、その結果、ひれ伏して神を拝み、「まことに、神があなたがたのうちにいます」と告白するに至るであろう。
26 What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up. 26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 14:26 すると、兄弟たちよ。どうしたらよいのか。あなたがたが一緒に集まる時、各自はさんびを歌い、教をなし、啓示を告げ、異言を語り、それを解くのであるが、すべては徳を高めるためにすべきである。
27 If any man speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret. 27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 14:27 もし異言を語る者があれば、ふたりか、多くて三人の者が、順々に語り、そして、ひとりがそれを解くべきである。
28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 14:28 もし解く者がいない時には、教会では黙っていて、自分に対しまた神に対して語っているべきである。
29 Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern. 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 14:29 預言をする者の場合にも、ふたりか三人かが語り、ほかの者はそれを吟味すべきである。
30 But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent. 30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 14:30 しかし、席にいる他の者が啓示を受けた場合には、初めの者は黙るがよい。
31 For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted. 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 14:31 あなたがたは、みんなが学びみんなが勧めを受けるために、ひとりずつ残らず預言をすることができるのだから。
32 The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets, 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 14:32 かつ、預言者の霊は預言者に服従するものである。
33 for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. As in all the assemblies of the saints, 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 14:33 神は無秩序の神ではなく、平和の神である。聖徒たちのすべての教会で行われているように、
34 let your wives keep silent in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as the law also says. 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 14:34 婦人たちは教会では黙っていなければならない。彼らは語ることが許されていない。だから、律法も命じているように、服従すべきである。
35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a woman to chatter in the assembly. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 14:35 もし何か学びたいことがあれば、家で自分の夫に尋ねるがよい。教会で語るのは、婦人にとっては恥ずべきことである。
36 What? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone? 36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 14:36 それとも、神の言はあなたがたのところから出たのか。あるいは、あなたがただけにきたのか。
37 If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord. 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 14:37 もしある人が、自分は預言者か霊の人であると思っているなら、わたしがあなたがたに書いていることは、主の命令だと認めるべきである。
38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. 38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 14:38 もしそれを無視する者があれば、その人もまた無視される。
39 Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don't forbid speaking with other languages. 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 14:39 わたしの兄弟たちよ。このようなわけだから、預言することを熱心に求めなさい。また、異言を語ることを妨げてはならない。

1 Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 15:1 兄弟たちよ。わたしが以前あなたがたに伝えた福音、あなたがたが受けいれ、それによって立ってきたあの福音を、思い起してもらいたい。
2 by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 15:2 もしあなたがたが、いたずらに信じないで、わたしの宣べ伝えたとおりの言葉を固く守っておれば、この福音によって救われるのである。
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 15:3 わたしが最も大事なこととしてあなたがたに伝えたのは、わたし自身も受けたことであった。すなわちキリストが、聖書に書いてあるとおり、わたしたちの罪のために死んだこと、

6 Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have also fallen asleep. 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 15:6 そののち、五百人以上の兄弟たちに、同時に現れた。その中にはすでに眠った者たちもいるが、大多数はいまなお生存している。
7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 15:7 そののち、ヤコブに現れ、次に、すべての使徒たちに現れ、

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was bestowed on me was not futile, but I worked more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 15:10 しかし、神の恵みによって、わたしは今日あるを得ているのである。そして、わたしに賜わった神の恵みはむだにならず、むしろ、わたしは彼らの中のだれよりも多く働いてきた。しかしそれは、わたし自身ではなく、わたしと共にあった神の恵みである。
11 Whether then it is I or they, so we preach, and so you believed. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 15:11 とにかく、わたしにせよ彼らにせよ、そのように、わたしたちは宣べ伝えており、そのように、あなたがたは信じたのである。
12 Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 15:12 さて、キリストは死人の中からよみがえったのだと宣べ伝えられているのに、あなたがたの中のある者が、死人の復活などはないと言っているのは、どうしたことか。
13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised. 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 15:13 もし死人の復活がないならば、キリストもよみがえらなかったであろう。
14 If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith also is in vain. 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15:14 もしキリストがよみがえらなかったとしたら、わたしたちの宣教はむなしく、あなたがたの信仰もまたむなしい。
15 Yes, we are found false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up Christ, whom he didn't raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 15:15 すると、わたしたちは神にそむく偽証人にさえなるわけだ。なぜなら、万一死人がよみがえらないとしたら、わたしたちは神が実際よみがえらせなかったはずのキリストを、よみがえらせたと言って、神に反するあかしを立てたことになるからである。
16 For if the dead aren't raised, neither has Christ been raised. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 15:16 もし死人がよみがえらないなら、キリストもよみがえらなかったであろう。
17 If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 15:17 もしキリストがよみがえらなかったとすれば、あなたがたの信仰は空虚なものとなり、あなたがたは、いまなお罪の中にいることになろう。
18 Then they also who are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 15:18 そうだとすると、キリストにあって眠った者たちは、滅んでしまったのである。
19 If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 15:19 もしわたしたちが、この世の生活でキリストにあって単なる望みをいだいているだけだとすれば、わたしたちは、すべての人の中で最もあわれむべき存在となる。
20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 15:20 しかし事実、キリストは眠っている者の初穂として、死人の中からよみがえったのである。
21 For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 15:21 それは、死がひとりの人によってきたのだから、死人の復活もまた、ひとりの人によってこなければならない。
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 15:22 アダムにあってすべての人が死んでいるのと同じように、キリストにあってすべての人が生かされるのである。
23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ's, at his coming. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 15:23 ただ、各自はそれぞれの順序に従わねばならない。最初はキリスト、次に、主の来臨に際してキリストに属する者たち、
24 Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 15:24 それから終末となって、その時に、キリストはすべての君たち、すべての権威と権力とを打ち滅ぼして、国を父なる神に渡されるのである。
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 15:25 なぜなら、キリストはあらゆる敵をその足もとに置く時までは、支配を続けることになっているからである。
26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 15:26 最後の敵として滅ぼされるのが、死である。
27 For, "He put all things in subjection under his feet." But when he says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 15:27 「神は万物を彼の足もとに従わせた」からである。ところが、万物を従わせたと言われる時、万物を従わせたかたがそれに含まれていないことは、明らかである。
28 When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 15:28 そして、万物が神に従う時には、御子自身もまた、万物を従わせたそのかたに従うであろう。それは、神がすべての者にあって、すべてとなられるためである。
29 Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren't raised at all, why then are they baptized for the dead? 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 15:29 そうでないとすれば、死者のためにバプテスマを受ける人々は、なぜそれをするのだろうか。もし死者が全くよみがえらないとすれば、なぜ人々が死者のためにバプテスマを受けるのか。
30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour? 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? 15:30 また、なんのために、わたしたちはいつも危険を冒しているのか。
31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 15:31 兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにあって、わたしがあなたがたにつき持っている誇にかけて言うが、わたしは日々死んでいるのである。
32 If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then "let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 15:32 もし、わたしが人間の考えによってエペソで獣と戦ったとすれば、それはなんの役に立つのか。もし死人がよみがえらないのなら、「わたしたちは飲み食いしようではないか。あすもわからぬいのちなのだ」。
33 Don't be deceived! "Evil companionships corrupt good morals." 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 15:33 まちがってはいけない。「悪い交わりは、良いならわしをそこなう」。
34 Wake up righteously, and don't sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 15:34 目ざめて身を正し、罪を犯さないようにしなさい。あなたがたのうちには、神について無知な人々がいる。あなたがたをはずかしめるために、わたしはこう言うのだ。
35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised?" and, "With what kind of body do they come?" 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 15:35 しかし、ある人は言うだろう。「どんなふうにして、死人がよみがえるのか。どんなからだをして来るのか」。
36 You foolish one, that which you yourself sow is not made alive unless it dies. 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 15:36 おろかな人である。あなたのまくものは、死ななければ、生かされないではないか。
37 That which you sow, you don't sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind. 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 15:37 また、あなたのまくのは、やがて成るべきからだをまくのではない。麦であっても、ほかの種であっても、ただの種粒にすぎない。
38 But God gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own. 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 15:38 ところが、神はみこころのままに、これにからだを与え、その一つ一つの種にそれぞれのからだをお与えになる。
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 15:39 すべての肉が、同じ肉なのではない。人の肉があり、獣の肉があり、鳥の肉があり、魚の肉がある。
40 There are also celestial bodies, and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial differs from that of the terrestrial. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 15:40 天に属するからだもあれば、地に属するからだもある。天に属するものの栄光は、地に属するものの栄光と違っている。
41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 15:41 日の栄光があり、月の栄光があり、星の栄光がある。また、この星とあの星との間に、栄光の差がある。
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 15:42 死人の復活も、また同様である。朽ちるものでまかれ、朽ちないものによみがえり、

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body. 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 15:44 肉のからだでまかれ、霊のからだによみがえるのである。肉のからだがあるのだから、霊のからだもあるわけである。
45 So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 15:45 聖書に「最初の人アダムは生きたものとなった」と書いてあるとおりである。しかし最後のアダムは命を与える霊となった。
46 However that which is spiritual isn't first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 15:46 最初にあったのは、霊のものではなく肉のものであって、その後に霊のものが来るのである。
47 The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. 15:47 第一の人は地から出て土に属し、第二の人は天から来る。
48 As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 15:48 この土に属する人に、土に属している人々は等しく、この天に属する人に、天に属している人々は等しいのである。
49 As we have borne the image of those made of dust,let's also bear the image of the heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 15:49 すなわち、わたしたちは、土に属している形をとっているのと同様に、また天に属している形をとるであろう。
50 Now I say this,brothers, that flesh and blood can't inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 15:50 兄弟たちよ。わたしはこの事を言っておく。肉と血とは神の国を継ぐことができないし、朽ちるものは朽ちないものを継ぐことがない。
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 15:51 ここで、あなたがたに奥義を告げよう。わたしたちすべては、眠り続けるのではない。
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 15:52 終りのラッパの響きと共に、またたく間に、一瞬にして変えられる。というのは、ラッパが響いて、死人は朽ちない者によみがえらされ、わたしたちは変えられるのである。
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 15:53 なぜなら、この朽ちるものは必ず朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものは必ず死なないものを着ることになるからである。
54 But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: "Death is swallowed up in victory." 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 15:54 この朽ちるものが朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものが死なないものを着るとき、聖書に書いてある言葉が成就するのである。死は勝利にのまれてしまった。
55 "Death, where is your sting? Hades , where is your victory?" 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 15:55 「死よ、おまえのとげは、どこにあるのか。死よ、おまえの勝利は、どこにあるのか」。
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 15:56 死のとげは罪である。罪の力は律法である。
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 15:57 しかし感謝すべきことには、神はわたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって、わたしたちに勝利を賜わったのである。
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 15:58 だから、愛する兄弟たちよ。堅く立って動かされず、いつも全力を注いで主のわざに励みなさい。主にあっては、あなたがたの労苦がむだになることはないと、あなたがたは知っているからである。

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I commanded the assemblies of Galatia, you do likewise. 1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 16:1 聖徒たちへの献金については、わたしはガラテヤの諸教会に命じておいたが、あなたがたもそのとおりにしなさい。
2 On the first day of the week, let each one of you save, as he may prosper, that no collections be made when I come. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. 16:2 一週の初めの日ごとに、あなたがたはそれぞれ、いくらでも収入に応じて手もとにたくわえておき、わたしが着いた時になって初めて集めることのないようにしなさい。
3 When I arrive, I will send whoever you approve with letters to carry your gracious gift to Jerusalem. 3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. 16:3 わたしが到着したら、あなたがたが選んだ人々に手紙をつけ、あなたがたの贈り物を持たせて、エルサレムに送り出すことにしよう。
4 If it is appropriate for me to go also, they will go with me. 4 And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me. 16:4 もしわたしも行く方がよければ、一緒に行くことになろう。
5 But I will come to you when I have passed through Macedonia, for I am passing through Macedonia. 5 Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. 16:5 わたしは、マケドニヤを通過してから、あなたがたのところに行くことになろう。マケドニヤは通過するだけだが、
6 But with you it may be that I will stay, or even winter, that you may send me on my journey wherever I go. 6 And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. 16:6 あなたがたの所では、たぶん滞在するようになり、あるいは冬を過ごすかも知れない。そうなれば、わたしがどこへ行くにしても、あなたがたに送ってもらえるだろう。
7 For I do not wish to see you now in passing, but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits. 7 For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. 16:7 わたしは今、あなたがたに旅のついでに会うことは好まない。もし主のお許しがあれば、しばらくあなたがたの所に滞在したいと望んでいる。
8 But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost, 8 But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. 16:8 しかし五旬節までは、エペソに滞在するつもりだ。
9 for a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. 9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. 16:9 というのは、有力な働きの門がわたしのために大きく開かれているし、また敵対する者も多いからである。
10 Now if Timothy comes, see that he is with you without fear, for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do. 10 Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. 16:10 もしテモテが着いたら、あなたがたの所で不安なしに過ごせるようにしてあげてほしい。彼はわたしと同様に、主のご用にあたっているのだから。
11 Therefore let no one despise him. But set him forward on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers. 11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren. 16:11 だれも彼を軽んじてはいけない。そして、わたしの所に来るように、どうか彼を安らかに送り出してほしい。わたしは彼が兄弟たちと一緒に来るのを待っている。
12 Now concerning Apollos, the brother, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers; and it was not at all his desire to come now; but he will come when he has an opportunity. 12 As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time. 16:12 兄弟アポロについては、兄弟たちと一緒にあなたがたの所に行くように、たびたび勧めてみた。しかし彼には、今行く意志は、全くない。適当な機会があれば、行くだろう。
13 Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 16:13 目をさましていなさい。信仰に立ちなさい。男らしく、強くあってほしい。
14 Let all that you do be done in love. 14 Let all your things be done with charity. 16:14 いっさいのことを、愛をもって行いなさい。
15 Now I beg you, brothers (you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to serve the saints), 15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) 16:15 兄弟たちよ。あなたがたに勧める。あなたがたが知っているように、ステパナの家はアカヤの初穂であって、彼らは身をもって聖徒に奉仕してくれた。
16 that you also be in subjection to such, and to everyone who helps in the work and labors. 16 That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth. 16:16 どうか、このような人々と、またすべて彼らと共に働き共に労する人々とに、従ってほしい。
17 I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus; for that which was lacking on your part, they supplied. 17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied. 16:17 わたしは、ステパナとポルトナトとアカイコとがきてくれたのを喜んでいる。彼らはあなたがたの足りない所を満たし、
18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge those who are like that. 18 For they have refreshed my spirit and your's: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such. 16:18 わたしの心とあなたがたの心とを、安らかにしてくれた。こうした人々は、重んじなければならない。
19 The assemblies of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you much in the Lord, together with the assembly that is in their house. 19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. 16:19 アジヤの諸教会から、あなたがたによろしく。アクラとプリスカとその家の教会から、主にあって心からよろしく。
20 All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. 20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss. 16:20 すべての兄弟たちから、よろしく。あなたがたも互に、きよい接吻をもってあいさつをかわしなさい。
21 This greeting is by me, Paul, with my own hand. 21 The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. 16:21 ここでパウロが、手ずからあいさつをしるす。
22 If any man doesn't love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. Come, Lord! 22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. 16:22 もし主を愛さない者があれば、のろわれよ。マラナ・タ(われらの主よ、きたりませ)。
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 16:23 主イエスの恵みが、あなたがたと共にあるように。
