1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ; To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with theoverseers and servants : 1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: 1:1 キリスト・イエスの僕たち、パウロとテモテから、ピリピにいる、キリスト・イエスにあるすべての聖徒たち、ならびに監督たちと執事たちへ。

13 so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ; 13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; 1:13 すなわち、わたしが獄に捕われているのはキリストのためであることが、兵営全体にもそのほかのすべての人々にも明らかになり、
14 and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear. 14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. 1:14 そして兄弟たちのうち多くの者は、わたしの入獄によって主にある確信を得、恐れることなく、ますます勇敢に、神の言を語るようになった。
15 Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will. 15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 1:15 一方では、ねたみや闘争心からキリストを宣べ伝える者がおり、他方では善意からそうする者がいる。
16 The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains; 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 1:16 後者は、わたしが福音を弁明するために立てられていることを知り、愛の心でキリストを伝え、
17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News. 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 1:17 前者は、わたしの入獄の苦しみに更に患難を加えようと思って、純真な心からではなく、党派心からそうしている。
18 What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 1:18 すると、どうなのか。見えからであるにしても、真実からであるにしても、要するに、伝えられているのはキリストなのだから、わたしはそれを喜んでいるし、また喜ぶであろう。

20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death. 20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 1:20 そこで、わたしが切実な思いで待ち望むことは、わたしが、どんなことがあっても恥じることなく、かえって、いつものように今も、大胆に語ることによって、生きるにも死ぬにも、わたしの身によってキリストがあがめられることである。
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 1:21 わたしにとっては、生きることはキリストであり、死ぬことは益である。
22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don't know what I will choose. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 1:22 しかし、肉体において生きていることが、わたしにとっては実り多い働きになるのだとすれば、どちらを選んだらよいか、わたしにはわからない。
23 But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 1:23 わたしは、これら二つのものの間に板ばさみになっている。わたしの願いを言えば、この世を去ってキリストと共にいることであり、実は、その方がはるかに望ましい。
24 Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake. 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. 1:24 しかし、肉体にとどまっていることは、あなたがたのためには、さらに必要である。
25 Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; 1:25 こう確信しているので、わたしは生きながらえて、あなたがた一同のところにとどまり、あなたがたの信仰を進ませ、その喜びを得させようと思う。

27 Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News; 27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 1:27 ただ、あなたがたはキリストの福音にふさわしく生活しなさい。そして、わたしが行ってあなたがたに会うにしても、離れているにしても、あなたがたが一つの霊によって堅く立ち、一つ心になって福音の信仰のために力を合わせて戦い、
28 and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God. 28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. 1:28 かつ、何事についても、敵対する者どもにろうばいさせられないでいる様子を、聞かせてほしい。このことは、彼らには滅びのしるし、あなたがたには救のしるしであって、それは神から来るのである。
29 Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf, 29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; 1:29 あなたがたはキリストのために、ただ彼を信じることだけではなく、彼のために苦しむことをも賜わっている。

1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2:1 そこで、あなたがたに、キリストによる勧め、愛の励まし、御霊の交わり、熱愛とあわれみとが、いくらかでもあるなら、
2 make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 2:2 どうか同じ思いとなり、同じ愛の心を持ち、心を合わせ、一つ思いになって、わたしの喜びを満たしてほしい。
3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 2:3 何事も党派心や虚栄からするのでなく、へりくだった心をもって互に人を自分よりすぐれた者としなさい。
4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 2:4 おのおの、自分のことばかりでなく、他人のことも考えなさい。
5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 2:5 キリスト・イエスにあっていだいているのと同じ思いを、あなたがたの間でも互に生かしなさい。
6 who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2:6 キリストは、神のかたちであられたが、神と等しくあることを固守すべき事とは思わず、
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 2:7 かえって、おのれをむなしうして僕のかたちをとり、人間の姿になられた。その有様は人と異ならず、
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, yes, the death of the cross. 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 2:8 おのれを低くして、死に至るまで、しかも十字架の死に至るまで従順であられた。
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 2:9 それゆえに、神は彼を高く引き上げ、すべての名にまさる名を彼に賜わった。
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 2:10 それは、イエスの御名によって、天上のもの、地上のもの、地下のものなど、あらゆるものがひざをかがめ、
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 2:11 また、あらゆる舌が、「イエス・キリストは主である」と告白して、栄光を父なる神に帰するためである。
12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 2:12 わたしの愛する者たちよ。そういうわけだから、あなたがたがいつも従順であったように、わたしが一緒にいる時だけでなく、いない今は、いっそう従順でいて、恐れおののいて自分の救の達成に努めなさい。
13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 2:13 あなたがたのうちに働きかけて、その願いを起させ、かつ実現に至らせるのは神であって、それは神のよしとされるところだからである。
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputes, 14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 2:14 すべてのことを、つぶやかず疑わないでしなさい。
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world, 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 2:15 それは、あなたがたが責められるところのない純真な者となり、曲った邪悪な時代のただ中にあって、傷のない神の子となるためである。あなたがたは、いのちの言葉を堅く持って、彼らの間で星のようにこの世に輝いている。
16 holding up the word of life; that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ, that I didn't run in vain nor labor in vain. 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. 2:16 このようにして、キリストの日に、わたしは自分の走ったことがむだでなく、労したこともむだではなかったと誇ることができる。
17 Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all. 17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. 2:17 そして、たとい、あなたがたの信仰の供え物をささげる祭壇に、わたしの血をそそぐことがあっても、わたしは喜ぼう。あなたがた一同と共に喜ぼう。

19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing. 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. 2:19 さて、わたしは、まもなくテモテをあなたがたのところに送りたいと、主イエスにあって願っている。それは、あなたがたの様子を知って、わたしも力づけられたいからである。
20 For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you. 20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 2:20 テモテのような心で、親身になってあなたがたのことを心配している者は、ほかにひとりもない。
21 For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. 2:21 人はみな、自分のことを求めるだけで、キリスト・イエスのことは求めていない。
22 But you know the proof of him, that, as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News. 22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. 2:22 しかし、テモテの錬達ぶりは、あなたがたの知っているとおりである。すなわち、子が父に対するようにして、わたしと一緒に福音に仕えてきたのである。

25 But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need; 25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. 2:25 しかし、さしあたり、わたしの同労者で戦友である兄弟、また、あなたがたの使者としてわたしの窮乏を補ってくれたエパフロデトを、あなたがたのもとに送り返すことが必要だと思っている。
26 since he longed for you all, and was very troubled, because you had heard that he was sick. 26 For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. 2:26 彼は、あなたがた一同にしきりに会いたがっているからである。その上、自分の病気のことがあなたがたに聞えたので、彼は心苦しく思っている。
27 For indeed he was sick, nearly to death, but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow. 27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. 2:27 彼は実に、ひん死の病気にかかったが、神は彼をあわれんで下さった。彼ばかりではなく、わたしをもあわれんで下さったので、わたしは悲しみに悲しみを重ねないですんだのである。
28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. 28 I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. 2:28 そこで、大急ぎで彼を送り返す。これで、あなたがたは彼と再び会って喜び、わたしもまた、心配を和らげることができよう。
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such in honor, 29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: 2:29 こういうわけだから、大いに喜んで、主にあって彼を迎えてほしい。また、こうした人々は尊重せねばならない。
30 because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me. 30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me. 2:30 彼は、わたしに対してあなたがたが奉仕のできなかった分を補おうとして、キリストのわざのために命をかけ、死ぬばかりになったのである。

1 Finally, mybrothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not tiresome, but for you it is safe. 1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. 3:1 最後に、わたしの兄弟たちよ。主にあって喜びなさい。さきに書いたのと同じことをここで繰り返すが、それは、わたしには煩わしいことではなく、あなたがたには安全なことになる。
2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3:2 あの犬どもを警戒しなさい。悪い働き人たちを警戒しなさい。肉に割礼の傷をつけている人たちを警戒しなさい。
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh; 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. 3:3 神の霊によって礼拝をし、キリスト・イエスを誇とし、肉を頼みとしないわたしたちこそ、割礼の者である。
4 though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more: 4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; 5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 3:5 わたしは八日目に割礼を受けた者、イスラエルの民族に属する者、ベニヤミン族の出身、ヘブル人の中のヘブル人、律法の上ではパリサイ人、
6 concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless. 6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. 3:6 熱心の点では教会の迫害者、律法の義については落ち度のない者である。
7 However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 3:7 しかし、わたしにとって益であったこれらのものを、キリストのゆえに損と思うようになった。
8 Yes most certainly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 3:8 わたしは、更に進んで、わたしの主キリスト・イエスを知る知識の絶大な価値のゆえに、いっさいのものを損と思っている。キリストのゆえに、わたしはすべてを失ったが、それらのものを、ふん土のように思っている。それは、わたしがキリストを得るためであり、
9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 3:9 律法による自分の義ではなく、キリストを信じる信仰による義、すなわち、信仰に基く神からの義を受けて、キリストのうちに自分を見いだすようになるためである。
10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death; 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 3:10 すなわち、キリストとその復活の力とを知り、その苦難にあずかって、その死のさまとひとしくなり、

12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 3:12 わたしがすでにそれを得たとか、すでに完全な者になっているとか言うのではなく、ただ捕えようとして追い求めているのである。そうするのは、キリスト・イエスによって捕えられているからである。
13 Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 3:13 兄弟たちよ。わたしはすでに捕えたとは思っていない。ただこの一事を努めている。すなわち、後のものを忘れ、前のものに向かってからだを伸ばしつつ、
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 3:14 目標を目ざして走り、キリスト・イエスにおいて上に召して下さる神の賞与を得ようと努めているのである。
15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 3:15 だから、わたしたちの中で全き人たちは、そのように考えるべきである。しかし、あなたがたが違った考えを持っているなら、神はそのことも示して下さるであろう。
16 Nevertheless, to the extent that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule. Let us be of the same mind. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 3:16 ただ、わたしたちは、達し得たところに従って進むべきである。
17 Brothers, be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 3:17 兄弟たちよ。どうか、わたしにならう者となってほしい。また、あなたがたの模範にされているわたしたちにならって歩く人たちに、目をとめなさい。
18 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ, 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 3:18 わたしがそう言うのは、キリストの十字架に敵対して歩いている者が多いからである。わたしは、彼らのことをしばしばあなたがたに話したが、今また涙を流して語る。

20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 3:20 しかし、わたしたちの国籍は天にある。そこから、救主、主イエス・キリストのこられるのを、わたしたちは待ち望んでいる。
21 who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself. 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. 3:21 彼は、万物をご自身に従わせうる力の働きによって、わたしたちの卑しいからだを、ご自身の栄光のからだと同じかたちに変えて下さるであろう。

1 Therefore, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. 1 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. 4:1 だから、わたしの愛し慕っている兄弟たちよ。わたしの喜びであり冠である愛する者たちよ。このように、主にあって堅く立ちなさい。
2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to think the same way in the Lord. 2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. 4:2 わたしはユウオデヤに勧め、またスントケに勧める。どうか、主にあって一つ思いになってほしい。
3 Yes, I beg you also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they labored with me in the Good News, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. 3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. 4:3 ついては、真実な協力者よ。あなたにお願いする。このふたりの女を助けてあげなさい。彼らは、「いのちの書」に名を書きとめられているクレメンスや、その他の同労者たちと協力して、福音のためにわたしと共に戦ってくれた女たちである。
4 Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice! 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 4:4 あなたがたは、主にあっていつも喜びなさい。繰り返して言うが、喜びなさい。
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 4:5 あなたがたの寛容を、みんなの人に示しなさい。主は近い。
6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 4:6 何事も思い煩ってはならない。ただ、事ごとに、感謝をもって祈と願いとをささげ、あなたがたの求めるところを神に申し上げるがよい。
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 4:7 そうすれば、人知ではとうてい測り知ることのできない神の平安が、あなたがたの心と思いとを、キリスト・イエスにあって守るであろう。
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 4:8 最後に、兄弟たちよ。すべて真実なこと、すべて尊ぶべきこと、すべて正しいこと、すべて純真なこと、すべて愛すべきこと、すべてほまれあること、また徳といわれるもの、称賛に値するものがあれば、それらのものを心にとめなさい。
9 The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. 4:9 あなたがたが、わたしから学んだこと、受けたこと、聞いたこと、見たことは、これを実行しなさい。そうすれば、平和の神が、あなたがたと共にいますであろう。
10 But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity. 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. 4:10 さて、わたしが主にあって大いに喜んでいるのは、わたしを思う心が、あなたがたに今またついに芽ばえてきたことである。実は、あなたがたは、わたしのことを心にかけてくれてはいたが、よい機会がなかったのである。
11 Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 4:11 わたしは乏しいから、こう言うのではない。わたしは、どんな境遇にあっても、足ることを学んだ。
12 I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 4:12 わたしは貧に処する道を知っており、富におる道も知っている。わたしは、飽くことにも飢えることにも、富むことにも乏しいことにも、ありとあらゆる境遇に処する秘けつを心得ている。
13 I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 4:13 わたしを強くして下さるかたによって、何事でもすることができる。
14 However you did well that you shared in my affliction. 14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. 4:14 しかし、あなたがたは、よくもわたしと患難を共にしてくれた。
15 You yourselves also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the Good News, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only. 15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. 4:15 ピリピの人たちよ。あなたがたも知っているとおり、わたしが福音を宣伝し始めたころ、マケドニヤから出かけて行った時、物のやりとりをしてわたしの働きに参加した教会は、あなたがたのほかには全く無かった。
16 For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to my need. 16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. 4:16 またテサロニケでも、一再ならず、物を送ってわたしの欠乏を補ってくれた。
17 Not that I seek for the gift, but I seek for the fruit that increases to your account. 17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. 4:17 わたしは、贈り物を求めているのではない。わたしの求めているのは、あなたがたの勘定をふやしていく果実なのである。
18 But I have all things, and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to God. 18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. 4:18 わたしは、すべての物を受けてあり余るほどである。エパフロデトから、あなたがたの贈り物をいただいて、飽き足りている。それは、かんばしいかおりであり、神の喜んで受けて下さる供え物である。
19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 4:19 わたしの神は、ご自身の栄光の富の中から、あなたがたのいっさいの必要を、キリスト・イエスにあって満たして下さるであろう。
20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever! Amen. 20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 4:20 わたしたちの父なる神に、栄光が世々限りなくあるように、アァメン。
21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. 21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. 4:21 キリスト・イエスにある聖徒のひとりびとりに、よろしく。わたしと一緒にいる兄弟たちから、あなたがたによろしく。
22 All the saints greet you, especially those who are of Caesar's household. 22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household. 4:22 すべての聖徒たちから、特にカイザルの家の者たちから、よろしく。
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 4:23 主イエス・キリストの恵みが、あなたがたの霊と共にあるように。
